Where I live, you can't really return any products if they've been opened, so I always try to make everything to the best of my ability. Dior F&B didn't work for me over my usual sunscreen, but it also became a favorite for me when I switched skincare around. I really appreciate this sort of content - I'd never try a product with only a couple application methods then completely write it off, so this feels much more realistic, not to mention environmentally-friendly! You're a breath of fresh air as always ❤
Thank you for the review. Very helpful. With so many lovely foundations, personally, I’m not one who wants to work to figure out the best way to make a foundation work (especially with high end). So appreciate your review after you had the time to figure it out. As I get older and my skin gets drier, I tend to prefer less coverage.
I am much more drawn to less coverage too - especially on an everyday basis. those products also tend to be more user friendly and forgiving, and quick to apply.
I appreciate the information in this video. I’m not willing to experiment, work, and struggle with my makeup. I have bigger battles to fight in life. I prefer to enjoy the makeup experience 😊
I always enjoy your content. Even when I watch a video about an foundation I will never buy. ( because off the added fragrance). Even you had a hard time to find a way that it works out well for you at the end, I think you look beautiful in this video! The color match in this is product is a good one.
I feel like full coverage only looks good on younger skin for sure! I am 35 and honestly I love my lightweight skin like stuff and have been leaning and loving more cream things and I think thats because it looks way better on skin that isn't 20. I bought the dior again as its favourite so fingers crossed when I finish the one I am panning its as good as I remember it being. And I appreciate your long form content thank you for doing the testing that you did.
Loved this review. Its the oil in your skin that makes this foundation difficult. i have struggled for years now and finally figured out that many foundations made for dry skin do not work for me. Of course the brand often does not indicate skin type or now, frankly lie, to get more sales. When you went with the lighter moisturiser it worked better. I now purchase oil free moisturiser- in a tube from Bare Minerals and I apply after it has time to go into the skin. Combination skin is more challending. By the way, Gheurlain is from France...company started in 1828 and has their own 2 factories. 200 yrs! Most cosmetic companies from France have floral fragrance and do not give a flying fig bout people who do not like fragrance-floral. They are the French, have an excellent eye for decor, produce fantastic food, take pride in their products and want to protect their culture. I love French products and Italian...they also take pride but will do things always the Italian way-in Europe anyway. I live in Canada and so many French women are gorgeous, thin and eat healthy. Not all of course. I never saw one with oily skin or zits. The companies tend to favour warm skintones over cool as French women tend to have warm undertones. Cool toned women may need to seek out British cosmetics as they always have cool lighter colours available. YSL, while French does have some cool toned foundations.
..want to protect their culture..? Europe (or fake EU if you prefer) is no better than the US or other countries because all of those traitorous "politicians" just try to destroy the economics and flood us with illegal migrants by design. So better think again.
Usually, we can't return opened products just like that. But I bought my Guerlain foundation at a luxury beauty store and I literally returned it yesterday after 2 months trying to make it work. I have combination/normal skin with a bit of a shiny T zone but not excessively. With this foundation after 2 hours my face began almost to run away... 😱. As you, I thought it has to be the SPF (all three types as well), with or without primer, different powders, etc. etc. At some point, I was just tired of it. I do have the Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation, Moisture Foundation, the CdP Radiant Cream, the Armani, the La Mer and none of this cause me any problems like the Guerlain. Happy for you that you were able to make it work, especially since you're oily and I am not and I am becoming a greasy mess. Which shade are you in the Armani? Thanks for this special review (btw, I had biiiig issues with the Lisa Eldridge foundation as well, biiiig no no)
So interesting that you also had issues with the Lisa foundation!! they must have a similar formula or ingredients that are making it hard to work with lol glad you were able to return it and get your money back. I use shade 3.5 in Armani luminous silk ❤️
Actually, it was a very informative video. Like you, my skin keeps on changing as I am getting older; I have combo skin except that now it is no longer oily to normal but oily to very dry. I have a good skincare routine but even so, wearing foundation has become a struggle (the dry patches are so hard to deal with) even the most expensive and hydrating foundations take work for an even application and I have countless primers to choose from. :)
I think it looks amazing on you. I have this foundation in 2n also and i think it runs a bit yellow. I normally wear dior forever matt in shade 2n and this is my usual repurchase. I do like this guerlain however. Thanks for a very comprehensive review😁
Thanks for sharing!! I actually really want to try the Dior forever matte, it’s been reformulated a couple of times since I tried it, and I’ve been hearing nothing but good things about it
Really appreciate the detailed and thorough review! I was never interested in this foundation but kept hearing about it from various influencers. I don't think I can stand wearing this foundation tbh lol. It looks super finnicky and seems like it will take forever to apply. Definitely not for those of us who just want something quick and easy.
I have only tried 2 of the Guerlain products, there bronzer in the cool tones and one of there kiss kiss no: 560 maybe a real red red lippie - just super beautiful, I utterly love it ❤❤❤❤❤
I’m so glad I saw your review on this foundation. I just bought it a few days ago and have been trying to decide whether to return it or not. I have normal to dry skin. So after a few hours of wearing it looks dry and patchy. I will try your method of applying it to see if that helps.
I went in-store to the Guerlain counter to test out this foundation & the Parure Gold. The makeup artist used the Hourglass primer before applying the La Tient.
I loved your approach. I feel like it’s similar to how Lisa Eldridge uses products, she always seems to adjust her methods to each product to make it work for her.
It’s the type where one needs to apply it with a damped sponge! (If a new sponge a lot of product is needed though😤 but after it get’s soaked up it works amazing)
Sadly it still wears terribly on me even when I apply it with a sponge 😩😩 it looks great freshly applied but then after about 4 hours I don’t love the way it wears on my skin
@ Interesting that it looks great first but then not after a short time. The Armani foundation is like that on me! Looks great first, then it’s gone from my skin after some hours
Same! But I waited too long to return. Thought it was my skin.. turned out to be the foundation. Like you said.. I’ve noticed more and more as I get older I’m having the same issues. Ysl all hours, same. Can you please try the reformulated dior backstage?! Interested to hear your thoughts
I was wondering how that foundation was because I used to love the Lingerie de peau before they changed the formula. I can't work that hard on getting a product to work. Your final look worked out well thanks to all your effort. When a foundation doesn't work for me I become a mixologist to make it work.
Well done for trying to make it work. I hate waste of any kind so I try to do the same. I too am not loving how foundation is sitting on my skin lately so I’ve been sticking to concealer and bronzer. Maybe it’s the warmer weather and higher SPFs I’m using, but I’m also finding my skin needs a lot more exfoliation. I saw Bekah Sun review the new Dior F&B so I think that and the Merit foundation will be my next two purchases.
When you referred to yourself as having the nose of a truffle pig I lost it, thank you for making me laugh today 😂thoroughly enjoyed this, your foundation reviews are my favourite ❤
I didn't care for this one either...the high alcohol content emphasized every bit of texture. I also can't handle the scent of Guerlain (Dior too)...so cloying! I settled down with Chanel Les Beige Healthy Glow for summer...extremely lightweight, just enough coverage and very long lasting...its perfect.
cloying is the best way to describe it!! I haven’t tried the Chanel healthy glow foundation yet but I really want to! I have been loving the water fresh touch and the water fresh tint so much 💓

Absolutely!! sometimes we just have to experiment a little and see how we can make something work for us. Thank you for watching 💓
I appreciate the detailed review, the skin closeups are very helpful too!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 💓

Very well said!!
I would be so happy to see how you apply the eyeshadows, and mascara and the eyebrows, here it looks sooo perfect

I totally agree! lightweight bases with concealer where needed tends to give me the best results nowadays 😊

Absolutely. Some products are less easygoing than others haha
Oh that foundation gave me texture that I didn't know I had. It went right back to Sephora.
yep can totally see it doing that. Happened to me too lol good that you were able to get your money back!!
Wow good on you for not giving up on this foundation 🤣💪🏼 ended up looking lovely
It made me so jealous seeing it work beautifully for others lmaooo had to figure out a way

Hi Sandra ! I don’t have that patience with foundation 😅. If it doesn’t work for me , I return it … Have a great week ! 🌸
Totally get that. I need to be like that too to be honest 😄😄😄

Yes definitely planning on repurchasing the Dior soon and will report back.

Your final look worked out well thanks to all your effort. When a foundation doesn't work for me I become a mixologist to make it work.
Mixing is such a great solution!! I also used to love the original lingerie de Peau foundation. It was gorgeous.
Well done for trying to make it work. I hate waste of any kind so I try to do the same. I too am not loving how foundation is sitting on my skin lately so I’ve been sticking to concealer and bronzer. yep!! concealer has been my hero lately
I have normal mature skin, I mix it w a bit of Dior Backstage. Perfection. Thanks for the review 💖💖💖
Definitely planning on trying that combo once I repurchase the Dior! thanks for the tip :)
When you referred to yourself as having the nose of a truffle pig I lost it, thank you for making me laugh today 😂thoroughly enjoyed this, your foundation reviews are my favourite ❤
it's a blessing and a curse, i tell ya lol
I looooove Terracota jolie teint that they replaced with this one :(
It’s always such a bummer when good stuff gets discontinued 😩
I didn't care for this one either...the high alcohol content emphasized every bit of texture. I also can't handle the scent of Guerlain (Dior too)...so cloying! ❤❤❤
💓💓
Oh no, I Wish they didn’t update products. A lot of the times they only gets worse.
Agree 🥲 it’s rarely a good change lol
Love and appreciate this video. I had same issues as you did so I mix it with my Lancôme Teint Idol Ultra and I get it to work a little better. ❤
Teint Idole Ultra has always been so good for mixing!! have you tried the recently reformulated one or are you using the older formula?
