Hey everyone! In the last video of the African bunch I got people from 5 different countries to talk about what the conversation around sex looks like in their country, from sex ed, to openness regarding sexual preferences, which is the most open out of the African countries and which is the least?
I agreed with Nadia at 11:18. I am biracial, Arab father/European mother, and I've lived in both Europe and Africa. Same-sex friendship can be really affectionate. In Western culture, showing affection, love and intimacy with someone is always sexualized, which is its own kind of problem.
@@Goodness234 I think you should acquire a planisphere and try to educate yourself, because Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia are Arab countries within the continent of Africa.
@@FrenchRivieraStyle nope Morocco is diverse we are only an Arab country by name and by membership and by the Arab community here. (to the Arab League)
I'm from Ecuador in Latin America, and I would say that my country is relatively open, however, there are countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico that are waaay but WAAAAY more open about that. Probably, they are among the most open in the world, and I think that is a good thing!
Happy Thursday, Marina! This os a great episode and I think that it's good to open up and have the conversation about sex and also having a conversation about safe sex protection with other people that are also open about it as not everyone is the same. In Africa, religious conservatism is so strong it is pretty tricky, in some countries even impossible, to accept homosexuality, even if it is not illegal. Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe among others proved to be on the hardline against LGBTQ+. Many remember the former President of Zimbabwe saying at the UN General Assembly "We are not gays", and the Ugandan Parliament even passed an anti-LGBTQ+ bill imposing the death penalty for homosexuality, but the President refused to sign it and sent it back to be amended, even if he was heard in an interview calling homosexuals "disgusting" and "deviant". In Zambia during an interview former President said they need medical treatment, and in all those countries you can serve long years in jail for homosexuality. In other countries, there are no explicit laws against homosexuality, but same-sex marriage is prohibited. In general, in most African nations, homosexuality is considered a rebellion against the natural order of things and an abomination. It is a very sensitive topic.

I don’t agree that Nigeria is the sexually open… also the country is the most diverse….religion , ethnicity and location plays a huge part

Great episode!
What is the name of the song that James danced so wonderfully to? 😂
Hi, I hv been in Sudan and Uganda, wow great pple they are.
James was speaking for himself, not Nigeria. He was describing his own personality and that of some men but it has nothing to do with culture.
Am I the only one that noticed the chemistry between South africa and nigeria

There's a difference between being open-minded and being sexual deviants. You are still supposed to police yourself.
