On this matter I think the swedes are categorically the most liberated. Yes,when thinking of people you find sexuality attractive you will naturally be thinking of France long before Sweden but that's a different matter. Actually liberated and comfortable and open with sex is the swedes, hands down.
I'm from Germany and I always view the Scandinavians as the most sexually liberated folks. Especially when it comes to casual sex, women not being slut shamed and stuff like that. I found the Swedish guy's "we don't talk about it" a bit off putting as talking about preferences and boundaries etc. is of course very important but maybe it just didn't come across right.
In Greece I think sexual liberation varies according to the environment. If you are closer to church, into artistic circles, in town or in a village etc. So I am not exactly sure about what a general answer would be on that... BUT WHAT I AM SURE OF IS THAT LARS VON TRIER IS DANISH NOT SWEDISH! 😝
Agree, its difficult as each country has a spectrum, more than a stereotype. USA being a great example of this. Still stereotypes are fun when comparing countries.
I'd generally say the further up north you go, the more open and liberated people are about sex. So Sweden first with quite a stretch for me, Germany and France are roughly on the same par, and then Greece, Portugal, and Ireland (exception to the common rule in this geography sense) are roughly on the same par because of the churches still playing a relatively big role in their respective cultures.
I would really rank the Germans with the French here, although for very different reasons. Swedes I have experience with, and I’d say that although they’ll do things fast, they do have misgivings and regrets that the Germans don’t seem to. (“Why didn’t you want to be in a long term relationship with me?” Type of things) French have lots of misgivings sometimes, as well, but their very culture oozes sexuality. So I’d definitely give them top ranking s.
I like Benjamin's approach! It makes sense to firstly talk about each other's likes/dislikes and yes's and no's. That's how you have a great physical compatibility.
I think it would be more interesting to have two videos: one with only women one with men. In some countries men are much more liberated than women and this reflects the ranking just as much as the nationality

Depends on what you mean with sexually open. Sure Spanish people can be wild but how open is society to it? I'll give my opinion on Greece since I'm of Greek origin (even though I grew up in Chile) and I also have lots of Greek friends. It's true that sexual education in the country is not something to be impressed (at school level), and to discuss about sex with your family totally depends on your parents attitude and on how religious and traditional they are. Things also varies from where you are from in Greece. People from villages and small cities tend to be really conservative about it, but it Athens and Thessaloniki they're more liberal. In my personal experience, I have been to discussions about sex with Greeks, where both girls and guys have spoken freely about it and their experiences, without discriminations. To finish, I have to say that I have never met a Greek (girl or guy) who has stayed virgin til marriage.

Really depends on the definition. In my experience a lot of French people are more openly talking about sex than their own attraction. Because of all the flirting, the vibe must be right. In their eyes I was giving „signs“ I wasn’t interested. So does all the talking actually lead to sex ? Sometimes
Having lived in France I wouldn’t put them in first position of liberated sexually people in Europe. Talking about sex is real land mine, people get offended very easily there. It’s the very opposite from the Swedish method “it’s only sex, chill don’t freak out”.

Having a lot of sex and being sexually liberated aren't the same thing. This is more about how comfortable are people expressing their sexual preferences , desires etc and in Greece it's about in the middle (the man in the video possitioned himself correctly i would think). For men it's generally more acceptable (as long as it's heterosexual discourse) to be more open about sex, for women much less so. It would also depend on what generation you are referring too, how religious was their up bringing etc.
It would be so fun to have an episode like this but with Latino and Asian people, mixed with the Irish, French and Swedish. I'm really curious if the stereotypes would hold true then too (Asians as most conservative and Latinos as most sexually liberated).

I do think of Scandinavian countries as being relaxed, open and natural about sex but the most sexually liberated? I'm not sure about that. For this group I would pick France for sure. Just think of all the turn of the century erotica in early movies, postcards and ephemera, the openness and nudity in mainstream French cinema, all the naughtiness in their literature, Marquis de Sade, the fact that it's very acceptable for men to have mistresses, the "French" kiss, I could go on and on. As a Spaniard who lived in Ireland for 6 years, I was shocked about how much grasp the Catholic church has in Ireland. In Spain it's baaaad, but Ireland was so much worse.
Well basically the more religious the country the less (openly) "liberated" the society.. and since Catholic Church has been more in South and Protestants more in North where State and Religion are separated, again there you have it.. As a fellow multi-cultural western European, this ranking was absolutely correct to me :) French and Swedes are very open/liberated in their own different ways, but one thing about France I would say, they may be more "gender fluid".. I think it's a bit more of a thing than it would be in Sweden.. But a unique thing with Sweden/Scandinavia is their relationship with nudity.. lots of people actually do live "clothes free" at home, with their family, and do have naked sauna with friends and relatives witch is absolutely not a thing in France, although topless women at the beach are very common.. The relationships *to* sex is also very different as they talked about. In France it's really a whole thing.. Romance is really a thing.., in Sweden it's so natural that's it's barely a thing at all if that makes sense.. generalisations of course..
I have heard that people in the south are more conservative, so probably less open/liberated to talk about sex. But in the city people are more open, but I don't know which italian city comes to mind. Is that kinda true? Are rome, milan etc considered very open?

Is no one going to mention the fact that Greece is the only country out of these countries that doesn't have legal gay marriage. I think that line is pretty much correct. I'm surprised though that the Irish think they're the least out of all of them... I would've thought, esp in this day & age that they'd be somewhere in the middle. Clearly I'm wrong. I think that Swedes (or Scandinavians in general), don't talk much, they just do it, not much thinking needed; no inhibitions nor obligations & they feel it's normal for them. It's almost like the vikings with a club; grab a woman, do it... Done. And opinions about this are mutual for both the male & the female. Nothing more to say. The French seem to like to talk about it, openly build up the 'emotions', verbally romanticize about it & then go do it. And even after it's done, there's even more talk & the process is continuous. The Germans, I think, are not that far off from the Scandinavians... They'll do it when they're ready & no need for much talk at all. No need for committment but definitely more emotional about it than the Swedes. Greeks are passionate people... & their sexual drive is so high it's not funny. Traditionally, the girls were taught to hold back, but over the past 60 years or more, this has eased off a lot. It's on their minds all the bloody time, both males & females... & if they get an opportunity to hook up, they will... If their local community is more stringent about this, they'll do it on the quiet anyway. The Portuguese, I think, are what she said. Traditional, on the quiet & if possible. There are definitely expectations within their communities.

So Sweden first with quite a stretch for me, Germany and France are roughly on the same par, and then Greece, Portugal, and Ireland (exception to the common rule in this geography sense) are roughly on the same par because of the churches still playing a relatively big role in their respective cultures.

Funny thing is that Sweden uses a flag with Cross and then they do this.
If the Spanish didn’t have the church, they’d overrun the world’s population within a generation lol
I would really rank the Germans with the French here, although for very different reasons. Swedes I have experience with, and I’d say that although they’ll do things fast, they do have misgivings and regrets that the Germans don’t seem to. (“Why didn’t you want to be in a long term relationship with me?” Type of things)
French have lots of misgivings sometimes, as well, but their very culture oozes sexuality. So I’d definitely give them top ranking s.

I am half-Polish but almost all of my behavior plus looks and the family are like are German, no offense. I had to wait for months for the "you know when you are dating" a Polish man and a woman. Doing such a video about the Polish would likely result in finding little to no participants because my Polish people are reluctant to discuss why the stereotypes are there, their background and all that. Well, that is unless you get them very drunk, they will tell you then or you will learn everything first hand. I suggest you come to a Polish establishment and get drunk with them, that way you will know everything first hand and have the worst hangover you will have in your entire life the next day unless you're Polish (oh, I suggest you do not try to understand this). I am not trying to be offensive, just stating a fact. Good luck with that. Peace out. Disclaimer: I really want to see a video from this series with Polish participants, do not get me wrong, I just think finding people careless enough to explain how our stereotypes work will be tough, surely it took the channel creator a long time to find a Polish woman and man open enough to present dates, moreover the video was to the point, informative, tongue-in-cheek in my opinion and all. I seriously hope that I will not be banned for this post which I am pretty sure will happen but I wrote this anyway. It's... complicated, I know.

For the most part Latino culture is not really sexually open. Maybe some parts of Brazil but other than that?

Well basically the more religious the country the less (openly) "liberated" the society.. and since Catholic Church has been more in South and Protestants more in North where State and Religion are separated, again there you have it..
As a fellow multi-cultural western European, this ranking was absolutely correct to me :)
French and Swedes are very open/liberated in their own different ways, but one thing about France I would say, they may be more "gender fluid"..
I wonder where Italy would rank... I never figured it out since Catholism here is often just appearence and we do a lot without saying it too openly.
I have heard that people in the south are more conservative, so probably less open/liberated to talk about sex. But in the city people are more open, but I don't know which italian city comes to mind. Is that kinda true? Are rome, milan etc considered very open?
Depends on the region. I was raised in a catholic environment (north of Italy) and yet it didn't influence me at all. If something, society did.

The french dude is of the Nordic Race. He is not a typical frenchman ethnically.

“French” was never really considered to be a “race”.
Historically speaking, the French have always been a mix of celts who were invaded by the romans and germanic tribes.
« The fusion of races began as far back as prehistoric ages. The French people are a compound, it’s better than a race, it is a nation. » ~ Jacques Bainville, french historian.
