I still only have my one eye for Mad Skelli 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Hey hey Birdo Gang! This is the last video NZ video we shot during our January trip! Back to Aussie car content!
We are currently in Broken Hill for the Mad Max 2 40th celebration. We’re heading back home to Sydney tomorrow.
I hate it when they hurt the cars !
Japan has a great car culture. Daikaku carshows are insane with the variety of cars that show up.
The variety of cars in New Zealand and even Toyota has a big variety of cars it is so hard to keep up with but that Triumph Herald with the V8 engine that was something else
Thanks 👍
Thank you Mad Skelli for err distractions!
You’re welcome! 😅
Olaf (Lichen covered Volvo) looked sooooo good, thankyou so very much for including him in your video 👍
I'm fully chuffed 🤘
Thanks for bringing him, he is the best
Some British cars used to have the exterior rear view mirror on the fenders the same way Japanese cars did. I think the car was a Morris 1100 built & rebadged in the factory as a Wolseley They did similar thing to the mini.
Australia only got the Morris 1100 version, but the UK got Austin, MG, Riley, Vanden Plas and Wolesley versions.
They were called wing mirrors because fenders are called wings in the UK.
Did you know.
Escort van and Gemini vans were nicknamed “ Pygmie Rooters “because the bed was a little too small.
If I was you Firebird. I think a Sandman theme on your van would look great
Oh man, that growth on that car was intense! 😂
Heheheh thanks for watching and congrats!
LPG is Liquid Petroleum Gas, called Propane in the USA. Triumph Herald saloons /sedans roofs are bolted on so they come off quite easy. Easy if you want open top motoring, people quite often make up a "rude" convertible top for them but you could get factory convertible Heralds also.
LPG is a mixture (depending on the weather) of propane and butane.
11:50 WOW! I just admire the effort has been put in as it is really well done!!
P.S. I really don't think that the Ford Zephyr came as two door so even that is weird lol
Puts a whole new lean on Frank Zappa's "dancing fool"
That Holden Hg monaro with the Chevy badge is the South African version , built in sth africa from imported parts from Australia. It was called the Chevrolet SS. You can tell the difference from the grill , quad headlights, and a few other minor differences. I actually think the sth African version looks way better than the Australian version. Cheers, guys, and girls. 👍🤘🤘
Whoa cool
13:03 That could be a Selespeed from Alfa Romeo, which is kind of a "semi automatic" and it is notorious for having lots of problems!
Wow the flier for that event was so nostalgic I probably would have gone to that too just for the flier lol... It reminded me about the excitement we had about the new millennium... What did you say about the 20th century being the best...?
Anyhow thanks for creating value :)
Don't go by the registration label too much for an accurate description of the car, I remember a NZ registered Plymouth Savoy being issued with a label calling it a "Saveloy".
The Studebaker "Conestoga" was labeled a "Conestoca" hahaha
Only fords i like are the XA and XB and the American 1950 to 1957 American F100s, but i am a holden and chrysler valiant fan
Ahaa, the Holden WAS a Chevy.
That was a South African version - hence the quad headlights - has a different name - the Holden lettering was the fake part. Holden was big in South Africa. Used by police force.
Go out and buy a couple of icy poles, you crazy kids.
THANK YOUUUUUU
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The sled pulling dude, I thought he said American style sleeper-pod. Wtf you gonna sleep, bro? And I'm from NZ, man we speak sloppily.
So I'm not as awful with accents as I thought I was
St Peter is impressed with this video, showing girls.
😅😅😅
Girls are rare at car shows, we need to appreciate their presence
11:00 That could be a South African import...? Anyone know...?? Unless that's how the Grill was for NZ spec..?
Hello by the way! ;)
It's definitely a sth African Chevy ss. 👍🤘
Thanks! :) @@jayr4857
The Holden Monaro with a Chev badge was probably an owner add on but the Australian HT and HG Monaro was sold in South Africa and The HG was badged as a Chevrolet SS along with other Holden products as the Holden Statesman was also a Chevrolet badged product along with a HQ Holden version of a kingswood from Australia also badged as a Chevrolet which came from Australia sans engines and transmissions that were fitted with Mexican built Chevrolet sixes a bit larger than the 202 Holden sixes, but that Monaro in NZ did have the badge denoting a Chevrolet V8 engine on the front guard as was fitted to some models of Australian built Monaro as they had options of the 5 litre (307) 327 in GTS and the 350 after the first HK model, what is not widely known is that before Holden closed its production line forever some Australian Commodore models could be ordered from the dealer new with Chevy bow tie badges on the grille no doubt left overs from the US export programme maybe
And I'm still trying to figure out if some Australian-built Commodores could be ordered with Pontiac badges from the factory. One source said yes.
Yes I was told that some time ago also from quite a reliable source so there could be some truth to that 👍
