  • FIRST TIME LISTENING TO AESOP ROCK | Aesop Rock - Kirby (Official Video) | Reaction
This is my first time listening to Aersop Rock and it was... interesting to say the least. Aesop Rock - Kirby was a very peculiar yet oddly awesome song. If you have suggestions, leave them in the comments below, leave a like on the video and SUBSCRIBE for more reactions! Dreamers, DREAM BIG!

    Thank you, my dude! 🙏🙏🙏
I think to get a good feel for him, start with the lighter and easier stuff, then go to that old, dense Aes. Try Flamingo Pink, Gauze, Drums on the Wheel, Mystery Fish, ZZZ Top or Five Fingers to keep things kinda light. And, for lyrical miracle aspect of things, try Klutz (and watch the official video for extra fun) to see how he dances across the beat and how well he puts his words together. Or Rogue wave... you're going to get plenty of entertainment from this legend!

Thanks for the suggestions! I love seeing everyone engage in the comments and you’re defo one of the most active. I’ll be in Puerto Rico until Tuesday but I’ve recorded a few reactions and scheduled them to post until I get back. Namely: Drums on the Wheel, Shrunk, and Jumping Coffins as well as some others. Stay tuned legend!

yes it did happen, and he said the cat helped him more than any therapist or medicine ever did.

@@DreamersDreamBig You should do the two songs before this one in order..theyre all a story of mental health/death of a close friend, dealing with it/therapy, then getting kirby..genius haha

    @HeWhoShallNotBeShamed Рік тому +12

Aesop Rock is literally the most lyrical MC, period.
A college professor did a study of the number of unique words in their first, I think 30k words.
Eminem was pretty high with Talib Kweli at the top.
He got a bunch of requests to include Aesop. Talib was 1500 or 2k above the rest, Aesop added another 2k on top of that.
In addition his rhyme schemes and vocabulary on most of his songs will tax your brain.
    Enjoy the rabbit hole.

Holy moly I can’t believe you did not only Aesop but my fav one! I love my kitty cat! Ty!! He is truly a lyrical genius. None shall pass is fire but you gotta put on those subtitles. He uses like a million words in one song! Lol

The best thing about it is, it's all killer, no filler! The way everything fits, what words he uses and how he rides that beat is insane - best in the game, easy. 🐐

@@DreamersDreamBig if I could make a recommendation, literally just start from the beginning and complete the impossible kid. It's freaking amazing. And when you look into the album you'll discover an artist that had enough and moved out to a barn and lived months, reflecting on his past and thing around him. It's absolutely stellar.

Anything of Fast Cars, Danger, Fire and knives EP is nuts.. blockhead(the producer, who has insanely good instrumental albums you should check out) really goes off.. can’t wait for more. Also Eyedea(whatever god is rest his soul) would be worth diving into

Nice reaction. If I can make one recommendation after you pause and before you restart maybe rewind like 10 seconds I think you might be missing out on some of the lyrics. You pretty much described Aesop correctly. Also this might be one of his most approachable/easiest to understand songs. Do another he just did colab with Lupe Fiasco and the songs on Impossible Kid and Spirit World Field guide are in my opinion some of the easier songs to react to. Nice job.

anything man like this artist gives you back exactly as much as you put in and nobody else I listen to can come close to that claim
    crystal sword
    cat food
all the smartest people that I know
    churro
a few recommendations but individual songs miss the point of this guy in my opinion
when you get into the weeds you start to realize you are listing to the most vulnerable music ever made obscured by complex wordplay and metaphor

Also, bro has been rappin for 30+ years! Listen to his stuff with lyrics. It will leave your jaw on the floor! Garbology is a great album to check out!

Hip Hop fans today are so used to hearing rappers that rap about the same topics with the same imagery that they get confused when the see and hear something honest and truly creative. Aesop's song are about things he's actually thinking about on a day to day basis, not what is popular. Check out Paul Barman. He has a song about owls and a song about the moon.
