I am sooooo happy I found you… it’s like you came to me…. You explain so well and I finally understand it… I’m In school for medical coding… now I can find the answer to my cases… my only downfall is if it wasn’t in Alphabetical order I have a hard time trying to find the main terms to look up. Do you have a video on finding the main terms in the cases?
Thank you, Mr. Nguyen. You do a very nice job of explaining the process of elimination, and I appreciate your note making suggestions. Also, one of the ads on your video for Hillsdale College had a course I for something I was very interested in that I signed up for. Funny how those things work out! I'll be watching the other videos you recommended in preparation for the exam.
In the last question, only one procedural code is laparoscopic gastric band surgery, so no need to even start from the ICD codes if one knows that, or checks that first.
Hi Krystal. Don't be nervous. It's multiple choice exam so the correct answers are already in front of you and all you have to do is to sort them out using my strategies. Make sure you watch all my videos and take notes then you will be fine. You can do it. Good luck!

HELLO MR. HOANG help clear my doubt. even case study questions will be " multiple choice" for 2022-2023? becz during aapc exprimental learning they ask fill the blank type code
Sir i have a doubt can you please explain this question The left breast was prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. An incision from the 3 around to the 9 o’clock position on the areolar border on its inferior aspect was made in the skin and extended to the subcutaneous tissue. The breast mass was excised by sharp dissection. The mass was found to be approximately 1.5 - 2 cm in maximum dimension. Hemostasis was made adequate using electrocautery and the Argon beam coagulator. After this was accomplished, the skin margins were reapproximated with running inverted 3-0 Vicryl subcuticular suture. Select the procedure and diagnosis codes. a. 19120, N63.23 b. 19301, D49.3 c. 19125, N60.82 d. 19101, N64.51
If you have been watching my videos then you should know how to tackle this case using my reverse analysis or backwards approach. A,B,C and D all have different diagnosis codes: N63.23, D49.3, N60.82 and N64.51 if you look them up in your ICD10CM book and follow my strategy to highlight the main difference between each diagnosis code then you should know that N63.23 is the right code to use for unspecified lump in the left breast, lower outer quadrant (inferior aspect of the areolar border). D49.3 neoplasm of unspecified behavior of breast; D60.82 other benign mammary dysplasia of left breast and N64.51 Induration of breast are not the right codes to use because it's not documented any where in the procedure report. That said, the correct answer to this question is A. You can also use my backward approach with the CPT codes and you will end up with the same answer A. I hope it helps.
Hi Letty. If you have your CPT book, then please look up these two codes: 59425 (antepartum care, 4-6 visits) and 59426 (antepartum care; 7or more visits). I hope it helps.

I love the logic of your technique, but it seems like it would take a lot of time, and I was told not to use the index to look up codes. Help me understand how it will work with so much page turning.
You will use my backward approach to tackle only multiple choice question exams. On those cases that I asked you to use the index is for the CCS exam in which they don't give you the multiple choice to choose from, you have to find the code(s) yourself. Also in the real world of coding, you have to read the report and find the code yourself either using your book or coding software. I hope it helps.
Good afternoon Hoang. I feel as though I’m preparing for my exam again. Your videos are so educational and exciting. I’m moving on to do the CPPM course. Do you by any chance tutor for this.? Just asking. Wonderful videos Sir.
Hi Leslyn. Nothing can stop you now. You can do it. I never took the CPPM exam so I don't know if I could help you except some management tools and techniques.
Based on Catherine's comment below "You can use the 2021 books, I just did with no issues. Other people were using their 2021 books as well" so I believe yes you can.
Displaced fracture refers to the alignment of the fracture bone. In a displaced fracture, the bone snaps into two or more parts and moves so that the two ends are not lined up straight. If the bone is in many pieces, it is called a comminuted fracture. If the skin breaks open the wound then it is called a comminuted open or compound fracture. Where do you find in the report to indicates it is a open fracture? ORIF (open reduction internal fixation) is a procedure and not diagnosis. I hope it helps.
@@tradersobol5232 Here's what I said " Based on what I just read and highlighted. The postop diagnosis doesn’t indicate that this is an open fracture so any diagnosis code ends up with character B for open fracture is not the right code to use so we can eliminate"
I guess so but I am not 100% sure. We have to wait for someone who took the exam this year and inform us. Either way, If you have been watching my videos and know how to look up codes for surgeries and procedures using the main terms in the index then you should be fine.

I want to ask. Can I use my 2021 books for my upcoming exam Feb. 2022- 1st week.
Thank you in advance.
Based on Catherine's comment below "You can use the 2021 books, I just did with no issues. Other people were using their 2021 books as well" so I believe yes you can.
In question 2 since it’s an open fracture comminuted -why did you eliminate B character which represents open fx?
Displaced fracture refers to the alignment of the fracture bone. In a displaced fracture, the bone snaps into two or more parts and moves so that the two ends are not lined up straight. If the bone is in many pieces, it is called a comminuted fracture. If the skin breaks open the wound then it is called a comminuted open or compound fracture. Where do you find in the report to indicates it is a open fracture? ORIF (open reduction internal fixation) is a procedure and not diagnosis. I hope it helps.
@@codingwithhoang in the video (25:37) you said it yourself that’s it’s an open fracture when reading the report. Check it, please
@@tradersobol5232 Here's what I said " Based on what I just read and highlighted. The postop diagnosis doesn’t indicate that this is an open fracture so any diagnosis code ends up with character B for open fracture is not the right code to use so we can eliminate"
@@codingwithhoang oh, ok I thought you said it DOES indicate an open fracture, sorry, my bad
hi, I didn't pass the exam , for the four time :( my problem is the time. I don't know what to do to pass it. I saw all your video .
Case study is Multiple Choice right?
I guess so but I am not 100% sure. We have to wait for someone who took the exam this year and inform us. Either way, If you have been watching my videos and know how to look up codes for surgeries and procedures using the main terms in the index then you should be fine.
Hi sir in 2023 cpc exam pattern ki changed or not ?
THUMBS UP
Do we need to have 2022 CTP and ICD-10 cm books to take the cpc exam?
You may want to ask AAPC.. there are a lot of changes from 2021 to 2022… I’d use 2022 just to be safe and not to miss anything out.
You can use the 2021 books, I just did with no issues. Other people were using their 2021 books as well.
@@catherinewoods5326 when did you take your exam?

Thank you.
Em thi 02/27 vừa rồi, chỉ có 56% thôi, tại em vừa học vừa làm nên không có nhiều thời gian ôn luyện. 04/10 em thi lần 2, hi vọng sẽ pass.
Yes em.
Hi. please can you make watch and learn for all 12 systems. am a computer graduate. its quite tough for me. can you please please make watch and learn videos for all systems plz
All the videos that I made last year for 12 systems are still applicable so you should watch them all and take note. The codes could be changed but the concepts are still the same. Happy Learning.

Hi sir I've membership on AAPC which expires next month(Feb) and I'm having a voucher for the exam which expires on (April)
How can I write exam in March
When number of questions is reduced to 6 doesn’t that mean that the grading is heavier on each question.?
No it's like you compare 1/2 and 5/10 and they are equally the same. I hope it helps.
Exact 70 questions should be correct for 70% or more than 70 questions?
In order to pass the CPC test, it is required that you correctly answer 70% of 100 questions, in other word, 70 questions correct.
@@codingwithhoang thank you 😊
Hello all, did anyone took cpc this month new pattern ?
Yes, they did and passed the exam. Please see their comments under my new videos.
@@codingwithhoang sure, I will check
