And actually scored 90% on the case studies which was introduced only this year and I used your technique! @@sooryakrishnan1850 they are also multiple choice answers, but the cases are one page each all 10 of them and somehow Mr. Nguyen’s technique works.

I have been organically working on answering questions by elimination (knowing that the time restrictions will not allow a complete read and look up of all codes) - your videos have given me a huge boost of knowledge, and great tips on how to refine the process. @@jayhutch794 then it shouldn’t be too much for you to learn! I only studied a few hours at night 5 days a week bc I work and have young kids. Hoang’s videos are super helpful with learning the coding concepts. I can’t imagine going into medical coding without healthcare experience tho. What a doozy!

Is there options for all the 100 questions? I mean for case studies too?
@@shifam7377 They are also multiple choice but I heard they are a page long (each).
Which makes it more nerve wrecking, at least for me. I guess you just have to concentrate on the strategy used here. Good Luck!

HI, Thanks so much for your videos, they are very informative. I am taking the CCS In July and your videos are giving me hope. I wouldn't have coded the R-code(syncope) thinking it was sign/symptoms but just realize it's a fainting code so it definitely needed to be coded. Glad I am watching your videos.

It could be because of many reasons, I am sorry I don't know exactly what areas that you don't do well in order to offer some helps.
You need to practice again and see how fast you do with your time. Also, you need to focus more on the ICD10 CM official coding guidelines. Good luck!

Hi sir, Can you please tell me how to find 90 days and 0 days procedure (post-op) CPT while attending CPC exam... In CPT book Is there any identification?
90 days is the global period which is the period of time a physician may not bill for related office visits. According to Medicare, a major surgery has a global period of 90 days, and a minor surgery has a global period of either 10 or 0 days. If the operation is for postoperative complications or is related to the original surgery in any way, then modifier 78 should be appended. If a surgical procedure that is performed within the global period of another procedure, then use either mod 58, 78 or 79 whatever applies. I hope it helps.

How do we solve a study case # 1 if no code options are given?
If that is the case then you have to look up the code for the primary diagnosis which is the right direct inguinal hernia and then a CPT procedure code for inguinal hernia repair. When you are working in the real world, you have to read the op report and find the codes using either your books or coding software. That is why I have cases that require you to open your books and search the codes using the main terms in the Index and then check your codes using the Tabular List. I hope it helps.

Using my reverse analysis (backward approach) when tackling case studies; cutting back time spent on A&P, medical terminology, law and regulation questions in less than 1 minute per question. I hope it helps.
