After the assassination of Dong Zhuo, the Han government is taken over by Wang Yun, who makes his son-in-law Lu Bu "General of Vehement Might". However, many of Dong Zhuo's generals were not present at Chang'an during the assassination, and thus escaped punishment. Now, heeding Jia Xu's advice, they have gathered their forces and marched on the capital in an attempt to avenge their former lord. Wang calls upon Zhu Jun and Huangfu Song to aid in the defense of Chang'an, whilst Li Jue gains the help of the Xiongnu prince Yufuluo. Can the Han dynasty be saved at this juncture, or will it further collapse into ruin?
