I wasn't even expecting an attempt at adding a dGPU, so this part one satisfied my curiosity from the last video. I think an interesting route would be to see if you could do a mini-ITX Ryzen 3400G APU build inside the chassis and get it running with the screen since it had the HDMI in, unlike a lot of AIOs.

I thought exactly the same! I've recently upgraded a 4th gen AIO from an i3 to an i5, and stuck with the T model as that's what the manufacturer (HP) had listed as compatible. I expected mostly due to the thermal design, but also quite possibly the VRM as the board was tiny! I'm not sure how well Dawid's 3770 will last in this AIO long term! 😂

So far I have replaced the ghastly HD with an SSD, have installed a dual boot of Windows 10 and Linux Mint. I have hesitated to put any more money into the computer because of its age, but like you said, it runs really cool and makes no fan noise that I can hear. Great video! BTW, I do have a much newer Rysen computer that I built from scratch that is waiting for a decent graphics card once the crypto miners are done hording them!

Thank you for making this upgrade in steps, so we could see how the maxed out system with a closed back, i.e. original look, performs. I still think this upgraded version is a viable option for home office use, as you get the snappiness people seek.
That the cooler slacks this much is still a bummer. I don't know if Ivy Bridge has solder as TIM between the die and the IHS, but if not, there could be one or the other potential degree lying around. Anything else won't work without modifying the case.
On the other hand: For reasonable use cases these temps are still in check, in my opinion.

M.2 to ribbon cabe adapter to external GPU ( with extra power fron an old PSU set up to power and hopefully share ground with the all-inone) sounds less than a rabbit hole than investigating that ' missing ' SMD next to the CPU socket and what onboard functionality it would have given. With the retracted bonus of not having to have a small reel of surfas mount capacitors in 6 sizes, 3 types of SMD resistors, and of course finding the right BIOS to get it to play nice afterwards.

you should really think about adding one more fan on that heatsink. I'm sure you can find exact same fan, mounts are already there and only powering will need tome kind of splitter (or simple wire twisting :)) but I expect temperatures will go down at least 10-15 degrees.
Also 3770S would be better choice for this setup but they are lot less common and somewhat more expensive.

Nice job. I'm wondering if you'd be able to fit another blower fan next to the one that's attached to the heat sink. It looks like there's enough room and having the rest of the fins with active airflow would help keep the temps under control.
