I'm fairly impressed that its gaming performance was so much better. It probably opened up a huge amount of casual and indie gaming options.
Oh for sure! I think it will also work really well for emulation.

not sure about the cpu mounting but couldnt we try to use a cooler that fits thats socket. > I realize you'd need a tri[pod just to make it stand up but thats the idea . MAXIMUM Perf bruh. Oh and the 3770 has the worst thermal solution from that era . non soldered . my 4th core and 1st are 15 degrees C different at idle and 4 C at max. Cant wait to see how it plays out
Going from 3MB of CPU cache to 8MB of CPU cache gives quite the boost as well. People forget about the importance of the cache sometimes.

Lets just appreciate that Dawid could have removed the back before installing the RAM but chose instead to make use of that handy RAM glory hole first. You cant say he didn't use the product as intended.
Glory hole 😂😂😂
I always use products only as intended.

I see words like "Upgrayedd" in the benchmarks, and I slightly worry for Dawid's mental state sometimes. Cool video, shows that (most) machines can always be upgraded to keep them alive for a little bit longer!
when he sleeps a golden triangle pops out: ''Remember to cut a PCB, Dawid"
My mental state is perfectly fine. *twitches widely*

1:09 AND DUAL CHANNEL, WOOHOOO
That's honestly an impressive upgrade. Makes the thing ready to fight another week!
This is arguably one of the prettiest ultra-budget solutions, so I'm excited to see where this goes.
I wasn't even expecting an attempt at adding a dGPU, so this part one satisfied my curiosity from the last video. I think an interesting route would be to see if you could do a mini-ITX Ryzen 3400G APU build inside the chassis and get it running with the screen since it had the HDMI in, unlike a lot of AIOs.
YES!! Just what I've been waiting for since the last "Smart TV" video!!!
Dawid's replacing the 35w 3470T with a 77w 3770, not a 45w 3770T or even the widely available 65w 3770S, I'm betting on a housefire later on in the video or in Pt. 2
edit : it's somehow less terrible than I anticipated
Shocked myself , Was expecting 3770T , Impressed that little heat pipe can keep temps down aswell , My laptop has a significantly beefier cooler and hits 90c running it's i7 10750H at 75 watts in performance mode.
I thought exactly the same! I've recently upgraded a 4th gen AIO from an i3 to an i5, and stuck with the T model as that's what the manufacturer (HP) had listed as compatible. I expected mostly due to the thermal design, but also quite possibly the VRM as the board was tiny! I'm not sure how well Dawid's 3770 will last in this AIO long term! 😂
I'm going with a 3770s but keep getting no POST with it. How can I upgrade BIOS on this AIO?
Just the video I've been waiting for
Really looking forward to seeing how things go with the adapter for the gpu. Staying tuned man. Keep up the great work!
hmm I wonder how it would handle a 4790k with that cooler hehe
This is a cool project!
Please make part 2 bro i really need to see how good this thing can get! the nerd in me is all tingly inside 😩😆
I am actually watching your video on a Samsung All-in-One that I bought in 2014 with an i3 2 core processor and 6GB of ram. So far I have replaced the ghastly HD with an SSD, have installed a dual boot of Windows 10 and Linux Mint. I have hesitated to put any more money into the computer because of its age, but like you said, it runs really cool and makes no fan noise that I can hear. Great video! BTW, I do have a much newer Rysen computer that I built from scratch that is waiting for a decent graphics card once the crypto miners are done hording them!
Really glad to see you're giving this machine such good treatment. I think I'd have probably left the back of it off by now, to make more stuff fit and help with the overall temp. Good job keeping it clean 👍
he's a mad scientist they way he's trying to make a dedicated graphics card work with that system I'm scared he will make it explode🤣
It looks like there would be a beefed up cooler as well, there’s the solder spot for a dGPU and space for a larger 2 fan setup w/ larger heatsinks
Wouldn't have to buy honestly. Just harvest an laptop fan or two, double side tape on and solder the power cables or run a custom USB power cable to avoid overdrawing the poor fan connector.
DAWID, YOUR CHANNEL IS A MASTERPIECE! IT IS LIKE A BLOODY PC PLAYGROUND! S2 The great PCB cutter, forever the best.
great video man, so interesting
I love getting old PC's like this one and just cranking the hell of the specs, I can't afford to do it often but when I do I love it
I scared that i might see the smoke from that cpu from my house when that adapter arrives.FYI:I'm in South Africa
I want to use it for smoke signals. 😂
🤔 everybody else: installing ZOOM for communication during Lockdown,
Dawid: using a PC to send smoke signals to his family in SA 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@shaneeslick Hahaha!! Yeah, we old school.
I have dual Samsung 840 pros in my 2015 gaming rig. I run them in raid0. Still works perfectly. Samsung builds a quality SSD, it's why I have stuck with them so long. I am also glad to see you kept your Samsung AIO truly Samsung. Neat touch!
Love seeing this thing get upgraded. Can't wait for the next upgrade video!
4:44 LOL @ Upgrayedd, I see what you did there. Underappreciated movie.
All in ones visually are my favorite concept for pc design, functionality and cost wise, still haven't really found that golden zone
Looking forward to that ribbon cable to arrive Dawid, hope it really works like what you said

These videos are so enjoyable and calming to watch , plus funny on top of that :D
I have this mod and have never thought of upgrading it. Might be a good idea if i cant afford to buy a new computer

Really enjoying this series 😊
Best intro among all tech channels BTW
i love the randomness of you channel it feels refreshing
I'm not sure if you read David but there is an extra graphics card on the all-in-one. Not sure if it works but it has a Radeon HD 7690M, maybe it'll be good?
@Charu Vaidya ah, gotcha. Didn't catch that! For a moment I thought David was not seeing it.
He may not read your comment as you are talking to David not Dawid 😁
Dawid likes to break the computers in gently with soothing Spotify love songs before going hardcore rock and roll. With the PCI slot it may depend if the system has a hardware whitelist like some Lenovos have.
Considering it's not a mobile chip, 80+ degrees is pretty gnarly. But nice video, it's the sort of crap I like to do as well. Good job, can't wait for the gpu adapter. 👍
Everyone is anticipating the twisted lovechild GPU hackathon, but I'm anticipating the power tool mayhem of the CPU cooling upgrade. We know Dawid loves tools
Ooooh, I can't wait to see that Mini PCIE get utilized to it's maximum potential :D
These old Dawid videos are true gold
I was waiting for this video since the first one came up ! Thanks !
Great vid. Really enjoy these. Always a highlight when you upload a new one. Thanks!
I was waiting for this video and now I have it!!!
Naming the memory upgrade slot the Glory Hole is just... beautiful!
This all-in-one machine comes with dual fan setup for stronger CPU+VGA configs. The unpopulated screwhole is clearly visible at the other end of the finstack. You should get the other fan for the 3770.
You could probably add another blower fan to help temps, it appears there’s space there.
But you can´t see if heatpipe goes there or it stops in half of heatsink. EDIT: Yep, it does. Adding another fans will help. Ebay/Aliexpress search "Ativ One 7 fan".
Thank you for making this upgrade in steps, so we could see how the maxed out system with a closed back, i.e. original look, performs. I still think this upgraded version is a viable option for home office use, as you get the snappiness people seek.
That the cooler slacks this much is still a bummer. I don't know if Ivy Bridge has solder as TIM between the die and the IHS, but if not, there could be one or the other potential degree lying around. Anything else won't work without modifying the case.
On the other hand: For reasonable use cases these temps are still in check, in my opinion.
Watercool it Dawid. Drill some holes in the back for the hardtubing. Two 480's or 360's, 1 on either side in old speaker housings, that would match the height of the system. Would look awesome.
Cool. If I ever found of these, I'd turn it into one cool retro gaming setup. Batocera or Recalbox will work great with these upgraded specs.
David: UPGRAYEDD
Comments: I see you're a man of culture as well....
This thing would make a really sweet batocera machine. A dedicated Emulator pc is always fun.
we need more of this
Hey dawid, loving the videos. Your the most underrated UA-cam out there man and your videos are a heck load funnier than Linus tech tips and stuff. Keep up the hard work man
Someone gave me one of these to fix back in September of last year. Even with its older specs I was surprised at how well it still held up.
We asked and we received, thank you!
You are my favorite tech UA-camr by a lot!
M.2 to ribbon cabe adapter to external GPU ( with extra power fron an old PSU set up to power and hopefully share ground with the all-inone) sounds less than a rabbit hole than investigating that ' missing ' SMD next to the CPU socket and what onboard functionality it would have given. With the retracted bonus of not having to have a small reel of surfas mount capacitors in 6 sizes, 3 types of SMD resistors, and of course finding the right BIOS to get it to play nice afterwards.
The best thing in this all-in-one is the amazing connector for the HDD/SSD - I wish this would be standard. Just the small little combo-wire to a breakout box where you put your power and s-ata in.
Really love this video...
More uploads ✌️🌠
cant wait for part 2
Nice, looking forward to the next step up 👌
This is a cool build/modding series!!
Great video, Can't wait to see this Frankenstein system.
dawid this is crazy why i guess keep doing what your doing love the strange content
Upgrades the RAM using the convenient door so you don't have to remove the entire back cover. 10 seconds later - proceeds to remove back cover. Nice.
I love the akin to Shiving the machine and yet still we try it. Can't wait to see what happens with the adapted graphincs card.
Hey David I love these types of vids and I was wondering if you could have a look at some cheap microphones off of Amazon and Ali express
Stock music sounds like Shotgun Rider meets HGTV music from my childhood in a good way.
I went through a phase of maxing out ancient business systems, mainly because people just kept giving them to me (he's a tech guy, he'll love it, right?). It's surprising how much more speed you can get just from a few very cheap upgrades. One of them went from a Pentium IV with 128MB to a Pentium-D with 2GB ended up doing fine work as a web server for about 5 years.
Shivving the graphics card in the balls......Never mind the tech stuff, your channel is worth a sub just for the comedy gold.
Interesting upgrade path Dawid. Do some sketchy cutting out of the back panel and plop a heat sink and fan on top the the heat pipe or directly to die? Total sleeper all in one? Can't wait to see what you do next!
“In typical Dawid fashion some things went wrong” 🤣🤣
I think I've found my rival for old gaming machines, I'm presently running 28gb of DDR 3 ram, GTX 960sc and an AMD IIx4 phenom black edition
Another great video. Thank you
The intro got me like: "Oh shit, he's finally embracing his inner JaysTechVault."
Shoutout to the madlad
I love these kind of video's!
Nice upgrade. I just won an auction for an old dell i7 3770 system for $27 and can't wait to upgrade my 3470...extra 4t here I come 🤣 Just a media center pc for light gaming/emulation using an embedded radeon e9173 as the gpu.
This is fun. Also sounds like some thing I would try.
That aio is great actually for programming
thank you for doing this
You could try upgrading thermals by using a dremel and sticking some heatsinks on the copper pipes or try replace the cpu cooler and have it sticking out like an engine on some v8 cars.
I appreciate the subtle "Idiocracy" reference...not sure everyone nowadays will get it
Eyy! I didn’t think anyone would pick it up 😂
Me either loool
Your name is my name but with extra steps
People always think my name is your name. 😅
@@DawidDoesTechStuff I know what your name is, but your name makes me think you're Welsh
you should really think about adding one more fan on that heatsink. I'm sure you can find exact same fan, mounts are already there and only powering will need tome kind of splitter (or simple wire twisting :)) but I expect temperatures will go down at least 10-15 degrees.
Also 3770S would be better choice for this setup but they are lot less common and somewhat more expensive.
Nice job. I'm wondering if you'd be able to fit another blower fan next to the one that's attached to the heat sink. It looks like there's enough room and having the rest of the fins with active airflow would help keep the temps under control.
yo you finally uploaded! i love it!
the upgrade to the 3770 was solid.
Dawid you crazy son of a gun you did it (and are in the process of doing it even moreXD)
Dawid, try the EXP GDC as it does mini pcie straight to 16x, and is also cheap!
It's very hit or miss though
