why they don't just sell the card as a gtx 560 460 what ever they really are is beyond me then they will work much better sure they won't work with directx 10 11 or 12 but oh well they will atleast run as what they are and not crash from trying to be something that they are not

If you want fake graphics cards with a different GPU:
Try to find GTX 1050 2gb that looks like this: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61Q1%2BVkaupL._SX425_.jpg
They will almost always be the same GPU (I won't spoil what it is, but it's more than twice as good as the gts 450 and still gets driver updates from nvidia)
I reflashed one myself, and other than the temp sensor reporting incorrect temperatures, it works well.

4:43 Certain types of GPUs, usually older/unrecognized ones, actually do that pretty often on modern motherboards, so it doesn't *always* mean fake. I have used a genuine Nvidia 660 Ti as a test card where I work, and it has started doing this on newer X570 and Z490 chipsets. We are actually considering retiring it because it just doesn't always play nice with newer chipsets, most notably a lot of the X570.

Flash all the graphics card to stock and try using differentsliauto to sli them! github.com/EmberVulpix/DifferentSLIAuto
EDIT: also fortnite and many other games anti cheat does not let you run games with test mode enabled for disabling signature enforcement (dse)
so if you use DriverSigner from unknowncheats then you dont have to use dse and that way you can play fortnite and other games with anti cheat engines.
im not sure if driversigner is detected by anti cheat yet, if it is then the game will not run

IIRC, there are a TON of cyber cafes in China and several years ago, they bought up a massive amount of GTS 450 GPUs to put in the computers so they can also do light gaming. Well, all those GPUs are aging out now and they have a huge bulk of them and nowhere to put them so...they cleaned them up, threw a fake BIOS on them, and sell them to unsuspecting buyers via eBay, Wish, Amazon, etc.
I wish I remembered exactly where I saw this. I know it was from a YT video, but I cannot for the life of me remember when or where I saw, or who made it.

They will work if you install the drivers on the driver disk since those are tweaked drivers. It’s actually interesting when that happens because sometimes the drivers tell the game the gpu has more vram than it does which causes the game to break

A while back, I looked on Amazon for some 4-port Intel gigabit cards to use in a diy router.
I found two that were the same exact knockoff cards. Both listings were made within a couple days of each other, but had pictures that were from a different angle to make them seem different. In both you could see the embossed name of some random Chinese company. And they had the same chips of every fake card.
As well, both listed the seller as the "manufacturer". And if you went to the seller's page itself, they mainly sold cheap jewelry.
Reporting the listings as fake did nothing at the time...
    Edit:
And both sellers were listed at different addresses, but were actually the fame building somewhere in California if I remember correctly.

I think the dead giveaway is that the fan assembly is larger than the card (you don't see that on actual, legit copies of cards from major manufacturers like EVGA, GIGABYTE, ASUS, etc) generally have cooling fan assemblies that are the same length of the card--even the cheap ones from major brands). My GTX 970 was huge (about 14 inches, had 3 coolin fans and required 2-8 pin power connectors).

  • @HR-wd6cw
    @HR-wd6cw 3 роки тому

To your first question, my guess is that they may have been defective units that someone bought up and "rebuilt" and sell as a GTX 970. All the GTX 970's Iive seen have been larger, and require at least 2-6 pin connectors, although mine was a 2-8pin design with 3 fans. Either way, they were big cards (physically), much bigger than that, so the size in relation to the cooler is a dead giveaway.

speaking of things, im REALLY considering grabbing a RTX 3070 when its released..... ive been eyeing the 5700 xt red devil for a while now and i need a gpu upgrade. im still using a RX-580 8gb Red Devil. its been a good gpu for me and the fact i got it for $175usd back in mid-2017 and its done its job pretty well since i got it. its just that i recently built a new pc with the Ryzen 5 3600 cpu and i really want to get the most out of the cpu as i really can without overclocking it. so, right now, im sitting here going "5700xt Red Devil vs. RTX 3070"....ugh. fml....

Later cards starts signature checking their firmware, I'm not sure where did that start, but you can't fake a 1050 into 1060 that's for sure.

Basically there is an aliexpress listing where you can customize that particular GPU in a few different color schemes and all these wish and amazon sellers essentially dropship from that one dude

Considering a 970 is actually only worth about $100 anyway its surprising that they even try to sell something like that as one

I swear these scam sellers must have a massive backlog of fan shells from Gigabyte GTX 750Ti's because they look identical, just painted.

    Awesome, love the content.
I have what I suspect is a GTS420, wouldn't mind using it as a display adapter to test motherboards. Could you make a video (or link me to a good one) on how to flash the bios to the correct one ?

I'm confused. Your hear of people being prosecuted for fake trainers, fake perfume or fake watches.....yet these fake GPU's are still available on major selling sites? If the sites are aware of them being fake surely they are involved in the scam by allowing them to be sold ?

You do know, in the BIOS you can select to turn off the on board graphics! but if your card fails, ya will need another card to put into it so it can continue functioning. the "scam cards" work grate for that.

These are known as yellow-vidia scams on chinese hardware forums, so named for the fact that nvidia almost never prints their logo on graphics cards, and even if they do it wouldn't be in yellow. I feel sorry to see these scammers have now set their eyes on the international market, where buyers are presumably more susceptible because the idea of a fake graphics card is relatively new outside the chinese market.

Find one of those four PCI Express slot motherboards and just cram it full of GTS 450s. I think you'll be able to force SLI through API in benchmarking software.

at 5:03 why does it say display adaptors with an 'o'? i checked my device manager and its spelt adapters with an 'e'. It even says network adapters with an e just below on yours. perhaps the scammers made a typo when they spoof the card name.
