@@DawidDoesTechStuff I hope this copy and paste from a science website helps you feel better. "There's a common misconception that it's mostly human skin. It's not: that mainly ends up in the bath or shower. Two thirds of the dust in your house comes from outside, as dirt tracked in on your feet, and airborne particles like pollen and soot. The rest is mostly carpet fluff, clothes fibres and pet hair."

This works. I buy used PCs every few weeks and dirty ones you can bargain the most. But you have to wash it with water and soap plus WD40 after it's dried (to remove those greasy spots and stickers).
Also, air pressure blow inside the PSU from every possible angle to remove years old dust and have reliable power going forward.
Fans are easy to clean with a small soft-ish brush (I use little shoe polishing brush).

Glad you finally noticed the weird thing about CSGO. A lot of channels just assume 60 is enough for CSGO. I'd say the minimum required for smooth gameplay is at least 150 fps. Optimal would be 200+ fps, this applies even if you're using just a 60Hz monitor.

    Pro tip:
Remove all the components and then turn on your bath tub and wash your case and fans under that blast of running water. I'll all look like new afterwards. I always let my fans sit overnight just to be sure they're dry before plugging them in again.
Sounds crazy, but as long as there's no current being run through the things you're washing it's complete safe, and very quick other than the dry time.

When you've stripped the case that far down, just remove the two other components left in there, the optical drive and the hard disk, take it into the shower and hose it down at full pressure! You can use soap too. Then leave it for a day to dry, and you're good. No need to waste alcohol on it, and much less effort than trying to brush and wipe it. Warm water and soap also really cleans sticky dirt pretty well, and sometimes benzene (lighter fluid) is a good choice for spots that remain sticky - it shouldn't harm the paint. Actually the 99% iso that you're showing is good at some things and bad at others, since it has almost no water in it, and not all contaminants are alcohol soluble.
CSGO has two render modes, the classic synchronous and the newer "multicore rendering". The latter unburdens the submit thread and increases your average framerate, at the cost of latency. A sticky terrible mud kind of latency, if you're getting only moderate performance out of the system. To actually play it on this kind of box, turn the feature off! There are some maps with crazy geometry visibility where it can backfire in performance a little bit though, but it'll still be an improvement in playability.
GTAV is... not that difficult to run? Except for a couple newer areas, it worked pretty nicely for me on a Phenom II x6 too, but in a casino with a lot of people you get frustratingly almost good performance, somewhere just short of 60.
GTX970 next? This is my daily driver and i love this card.

The only issue with hosing it down is with some cases it may cause some rust. I had that with my old PC case. The anodized coating or zinc coating..whatever it was.. was corroding/wearing off in some places and if it got any water on it, it would rust.

11 months later. The rubber grommets on the back of the case were for external water cooling which used to be more popular 5-10 years ago. So the case it self did not need to have room to support interior water cooling and could just slap those two holes on the back and call it water cooling ready. My friends first three water cooled pc’s and my first were all externally water cooled.

LOL!! Good video! That machine is actually in better shape than the "remnant" of a machine that someone dumped on my front lawn back in July! It was completely filthy and full of dead leaves and someone put out their cigarette butt on the back of the rather pathetic looking ASUS GTX 780 ti DIRECT CU II graphics card. All of the wires from the Corsair 850 watt power supply were hanging out like spaghetti. It has two 4gig sticks of G.Skill ram with heatsinks attached, an I7-920 CPU, an old Zalman cooler surprisingly in GOOD, but filthy condition, an unattached dvd player (like yours had) and all attached to an ASUS P6t DELUXE v2 motherboard. The hard drive was missing and it looked like someone had ripped it out with pliers or something instead of just simply unscrewing it from the case! Major case damage there!! The whole system was also covered in what looked like "black, sooty dust!" I had very little hope in this thing ever running at all. At first it would not even boot up even though the two on board buttons, the power on and reset button, lights would light up on the motherboard. Power supply tested good! After some VERY major cleaning of EVERYTHING and all fresh heatsink compound on CPU and GPU and fiddling around (MUCH, MUCH fiddling around)...SHE FIRED-UP and has been running like a champ so far! It actually turned out to be a rather damn good system...for free!! I just put in a new basic hard drive and for now installed Windows 7 until I get a new SSD drive installed with Windows 10 (maybe...) It is missing one side panel, though, but hey...no big deal! I just cut out a large piece of cardboard to cover the missing panel for now...to keep the cat out... just in case ( pun intended!) Oh, I almost forgot, it also was dumped with an old Gateway 19 inch monitor. After also giving it a little love and a thorough cleaning both inside and out, it too works! Best of luck and keep up the good videos!!

For anyone wondering what the secret is to getting rid of dirt from rough matte finishes like that? It's baking soda...rub dry baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) into it with your hands for a bit, then wipe it off with a slightly damp sponge...then splash a bunch of water on it to dissolve the now stuck-on baking soda which took the place of the dirt. Baking soda also works wonders to get rid of stuck on adhesive residue, or sticky old rancid oils.

Those cheap 2+1 Phases MB are notorious for forcing the CPU to
throttle to the minimal frequency due to overheating. Gluing heatsinks (With Thermal Glue) on the Mosfets can help it stay stable.
You can buy small heatsinks or cut them to size from old CPU/GPU coolers using a saw.
The glue is cheap and since you only need a little you may even be able to get it for free with a local refrigerator maintenance/repair shop.
Its a easy, cheap and effective mod. Give it a try :D

They had retrofitted front panel USB 3.0 ports or 5.25" bays that had USB 3.0 ports with USB extension cables that you ran through the grommet and plugged directly into your existing USB 3.0 ports on the rear I/O. Really cheap way of adding front panel USB 3.0 to a dated budget case.

The seller specified it having an i7 8700 paired with a gtx 1080. Not a blower or dell reference one either it was a AORUS card. so I met up with him, unfortunately, the pc he showed me was a different one, same pc just a different GPU, It had a G1 gtx 1080 so not a deal breaker, I went through the pc and also discovered it had a 7700 not an 8700, it had 16gb of 2666mhz ram and a 500gb SSD, so I offered $450 and he accepted, I’m really happy with it too, it performs amazingly in the games I play.

I actually just worked on a PC built in this EXACT case for a gentleman who also bought it from iBUYPOWER, he had a i7 3770k in it and a really old (and noisy) corsair AIO in it. The system was also extremely disgusting, which is a theme I've noticed with all the pre-built systems I've worked on. Oh and he was running a GTX 680 2gb, absolute beast.

2:14 They put water cooling grommets on cases that clearly have no support for water cooling. So you can put a block on your CPU and the rad/pump/res outside the case(I think it's a Koolance system they used to sell that sat on top of your case).

Dust everywhere, weird stains, scratch marks, dents, pet hair EVERYWHERE. Sold the case and hd 6870 for like $20 each, and picked up a zotac gtx 960 for $100 cad. G'day Dawid,
I was feeling your pain of the Gag Reflex when you Showed the Fans & inside the Front Panel 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮,
Good to see you got the CPU Cooler Fan Blowing the Right Way, but I would Rotate the Cooler 180 (Heat Pipes on the right) so that the Fan is Blowing Air over that Tiny Gigabyte VRM as I think it needs the Cooling more than the RAM with the FX8120,
Also when cleaning sometimes Warm/Hot Soapy Water is what gets some 'Sticky Oily 🤢 Stuff' off best, it's funny but Chemical Cleaners & Alcohol don't clean as well sometimes,
Ps I didn't have a good night sleep last night & woke up hoping for an Awesome Dawid Video, I looked in my Inbox & 😍 Joy at a link,
then watching you did not disappoint (Awesome as Always) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Unfortunately home environments are perfect for combining carpet/cat/dog fibers and human dead skin and grease into coatings of awfulness inside your average PCs. I really don't understand why there aren't case manufacturers that integrate proper air filters into their cases so that computers don't get grunged up like this. Also fans are a particular bone of contention. They are a major pain in the ass to demount for cleaning the low pressure side of the blades immediately start attracting grunge. Quick release fasteners for fans would be a start and don't get me started on how the hell you are supposed to clean the average CPU cooler after 6 months operation without breaking the entire machine down. Nice video as always Dawid.
Here's an idea for a future video. Take an old school computer case, rip out the redundant stack of drive bays and install a large filter like a car filter and a brace of fans to provide clean filtered air inside the case.

yo man, the transistors in that processor don't even have an output attached to them. its all wireless. using flux radiation, the closer the sensor can get to the... the less power it needs to trigger the sensor wire... and so the problem with 7nm, the power delivery on the boards can not sustain the exact voltage needed for that chip set to function.

  • @MannyMambo26

For rx570 on cpus older then 4th gen i series you have to set the motherboard to legacy and then install the drivers. After the drivers is installed then set bios to uefi. Also change thermal paste on north bridge other wise it will boot cycle.

I'm going to spoil it. I believe the PSU is not up to powering up the RX 570. 18A on both the two available 12V rails. So that's a total of 432 Watts. LOL! That PSU is on a very old platform. Newer and better PSUs have higher amps on the 12V rail because that's what matters in powering up the CPU and other components. Change it ASAP!

I have the "500W" version of that Cooler Master power supply. Brand new in box and unused, paid $5 from a thrift store for it as a tester.
I used air quotes because in fine print on the label it states, *"The +3.3V & +5V & +12V1 & +12V2 combine power shall not exceed 431.5W"*
    Weak.
IDK if I would trust the "600W" claim on that one.
