Both rule are actually correct in a sense. The original classic battleship is one shot per turn whether it hits or not. There is another version called Salvo, which have various version of how many shot can be fired in a turn. One of the more popular one is this continue until miss rule. It doesn't give a lot of advantage in the original 10x10 grid, but I can see how frustrating it is in a smaller board like this (and with skill to boot!). Personally, a lot of the electronic version that i played, have shot until miss rule. or it might be regional things

While its not the "classic" rules from the original game, the "hit and go again" rules have been around for a long time and are one of the official play modes available on current editions of battleship.
This is such a fresh take on a classic game. Its simple and seems fun to play! Its definitely fun to watch!

All the battleship board games I played had the you hit you go again rule. It was in the instructions in every game board I have used that I know of. Although I could be wrong and maybe my memory is faulty but I know I/my family usually play with that rule.
Ash need to put his ships strategically and don't put them in all corners becuz jas can guess them easily, I would put some but not all.
When I used to play Battleship, I placed my ships so that a full row and column could be covered without any of them touching.

Yeah. It's dangerous to have a "tell" in these kinds of games, if Jas or Price figure it out they'll be beating him always.

I had a GBA version of battleship years ago and you got as many shots as you have ships left on your turn in that one.

I always remember playing Battleship with the "one shot per turn" rule.
There was a PC version of Battleship I had when I was young, though (on a CD-Rom, for those of you who remember all that jazz); mostly it was a more actiony game where you sailed a battleship around levels and shot at like other ships and submarines and turrets and stuff, but there was an electronic version of the Battleship board game bundled with it, which had all sorts of fancy options like having more than 2 players per session (though I think everybody still got the classic ship shapes). I remember there being optional firing rules you could switch between -- "one shot per turn", "keep shooting until you miss", and "shoot once for every active ship".
I think probably a combination of those last two rules would be pretty fair when added to the powers from this game -- shoot until you miss, up to as many times as you have ships.

Update 1: Typical Battleship is 1 shot per turn, hit or miss, but salvo rules are a fun variation (typically firing one shot per unsunk ship). However, these salvo rules are based on the 2000 PC game Surface Thunder, where you do get to chain hits.
Update 2: Jaz used credit card. It was normally effective! 😅 Her Stream Sniping was super effective though.
Update 3: It's great to watch stumpt play board games. Having unoptimal competitive play is quite refreshing, especially with their jovial moods. 😂
Why is it when I win, it's cheating? I didn't stream snipe, I just made educated guesses when watching the previous match.
