I had a little electric version of battleship where you could play against another person or against the computer; I played against the computer a fair bit as a kid! I still remember the little jingle it played at the start of a game.
Love how price mentioned NoRollsBarred and what they do - they're definitely great, especially with their house rules series where they change iconic games like that
It's called Blitz/Speedrun rules, where you continue to take shots until you miss. There's also one where you take shots depending on the number of ships you have.
I love NRB (no rolls barred) so it's amazing to hear my favourite youtubers have watched some of their videos. Also, Cadbury is top tier chocolate and now I want to pop to the shops and get some chocolate. Its Easter Sunday so I've just had several Cadbury Easter eggs though, I really shouldn't eat anymore chocolate atm 😅
The funny thing is, when my grandfather and I played Battleship with graph paper the rules he knew included moving vessels, volly after hit, variable shape vessels, and mines.
@CarrotT he'd learned to play during WWII using scrap paper rather than the Milton Bradley boards, and that was still his preference later because it allowed for larger boards or geographic features (islands). Any ship that had not been hit could either move 1 space or rotate between turns. Destroyers could move 2.
-> Taking another shot if you hit. -> Price: "That's not normal." Not everyone played Battleships the same way as kids. I remember playing it that way, made games take less than two hours, which was nice. Odd-shaped ships aren't an invention of these devs, either. Never played that way myself, but I saw mentions of that decades ago. I think it was spawned by the Tetris craze back in the mid/late eighties. Someone obviously went "hey imagine if we used ships shaped like Tetris pieces instead?" and they went and did it because why not.
Not gonna lie, Ash's strategy at the end confused the hell out of me. Even if it was a mine that the sonar picked up, it's still worth using his ability to bomb the whole area because in case it hit, it was Jazzy's last battleship and he would have won.
I find this online version to be incredibly more fast-paced and interesting. I haven't played IRL Battleship in 15+ years? I don't think anyone I've played with, including me, has actually won as we got bored, fed up, or either party cheated 😂 before the game ended
It looked way too complex at the beginning but I very quickly got into this, especially as things got really close at the end. Looking forward to more.
As a kid, playing Battleship always got boring after a game or two (and tedious with all the pegs). I recently tried a random mobile version with my husband to pass the time at the airport, but it had no flair and tiny maps! But this remake looks sooo good! I really want to pick up the version on switch for my next trip!
Phone VS Phone works but I also have the Nintendo Switch version and you can play local with two phones connecting to switch (uses free separate Battle Grid app). We haven't had luck connecting phone VS switch.
More games. Should be interesting. Ash had a good streak but didn't hit the plusses! I played the electronic battleship and the basic battleship. Also, I know EA use to do a lot of games like those, but I suppose the non-EA games are decided on how money can be squeezed out rather than one cost.
I absolutely love battle ship and I love the abilities. I have a version of the game on my PS4 that’s similar and it’s pretty fun. Just wish this version didn’t have the chain shots thing cause that kinda sucks
Did you really childhood if you didn't drop an entire battleship set and have to pick up all the pegs
I would love to see more of this game. Very fun and so telling about play styles 😁

I’d love to see more of this please! I enjoy playing this, I have it on mobile. I have played the irl version too!

This game is super fun!!! More videos like these I would definitely like to see Prices strategy tactic.
I’d definitely love to see more of this! Also maybe it’s just how I played but hasn’t the ‘chain shot’ rule always been a thing for Battleship?
It's called Blitz/Speedrun rules, where you continue to take shots until you miss.

That's what I remember! I remember getting my board thrown at me after a good round.
same, i was a little confused when they were surprised by it, at least that's the way I've always played it
The rules state that you take shots until you miss
Actually I remember being able to shoot multiple shots when you hit as long as you don’t miss. It was at least a rule they had for our game.
I love NRB (no rolls barred) so it's amazing to hear my favourite youtubers have watched some of their videos. This was actually super fun to watch. Would definitely watch more. Reminds me of playing as a kid.
i need to show my mum and stepdad this because they love battleship
Cadbury eggs are literally the best candy every. Go Price.
wow how the turns have tabled good job Jas! also CAT!!!!!!! I LOVE CAT
Great game to do a mini championship amongst yall!!
the end of video cards these days are so cute! some how very reminiscent of the old stumpt outtakes that would be at the end of videos
i cant wait to hear aenne scream when someone chains her ships.

@@athenacooper3130 Just to clarify - which was the destroyer? Some rules have it as the 2 and some as the 3 :)
FYI, taking an extra shot after a successful hit is vanilla rules.
More love for No Rolls Barred from a channel I love! Woo!
YES PLZ I WOULD LIKE SEE A TOURNAMENT SEE YOUR STARTS
-> Taking another shot if you hit.

Exactly. Even it was a miss , a lot of area would have been cleared.
Also the mines random shots for Jas was really bad. She had already cleared those spots with her sonar, så it was basically useless
This battleship is genuinely great, I'd love to see more of it.
I love battleship! I liked it as a kid and this version seems so much more fun!
jazzy, as soon as you started searching for the T there was only 1 possible location for it
I'd definitely love to see more. This version of the game has a lot of potential for strategy with the powerups.
Yeah i had no idea this game was going to be this much fun. I could definitely see you all doing a tournament at minimum.
I still have a version of the original. Helps my son learn a few letters and numbers
I’d love to see more of you guys play this
Would love more of this game pls ❤

That was weirdly amazing to watch! I would LOVE to see more. I need a battleship tournament!
I played the old analog Battleship SO MUCH as a kid. . . . also I kind of love this? Can we get more????
It looked way too complex at the beginning but I very quickly got into this, especially as things got really close at the end. Looking forward to more.
The voices price made were hilarious!
Example ' You sunk, My battle SHIP!
I had the a cool foldable battle ship that was able to be closed with a zipper but I either don't own it anymore lost it...

I'd love to see more of this game. It so intense
This was actually great! Irl battleship was definitely not this exciting. Would love to see more of this!
I’m surprised by how much I enjoy watching this game! Love to see more of this ❤
I really liked this!! Would love to see more
I am pretty familiar with this game. This game really tests your luck.
I absolutely love battle ship and I love the abilities. I have a version of the game on my PS4 that’s similar and it’s pretty fun. Just wish this version didn’t have the chain shots thing cause that kinda sucks
it's just blitz rules, I play with them.
Honestly this was a blast to watch 😂 hope you do it again! :)
Correct me if Im wrong, but arent the "chain shots" as price calls em standard play? Or was that just a house rule?
It's Blitz. Standard is one shot at a time.
This was really fun to watch. Hope you guys play more. Maybe even a tournament style 😂
Sh*t! Should've watched to the end of the episode. You already had the idea for a tournament. It's a sign! You need to do it 😂
Love to see Jazzy's comeback!!
I played the physical one
There’s a other battel ship by Ubisoft that I think is really fun
do you consider playing patch quest again I mean it just had it's full release last month it's suggestion nothing more nothing less
I wonder if there's a digital version of Guess Who
I haven't played the physical version in a loooong time.
Would love to see the tournament!
