9:46 Enabling the user to change the default voice to other voices will enhance the experience. Having Multiple voices can give a dynamic and fun experience that never ends, a feature that provide an endless loop of refreshing memory.
From what I've seen you can do that with Open AIs version and your right its super fun. I came across a Santa voice I think would be good for telling generated christmas stories.
Feedback to google, when she asked about the lightbox the ai wasnt sure, but it talked too much and in the flow of ideas could be distracting. It should answer "roughly arround daylight 5k, but im not 100% on it" better than it rambling on and on about how it could be something else. Thats the difference between annoying and useful. 1:40 notice how i FIRST give the info, then i say shortly it may not be accurate. Thats the oposite of what happened.
I am confident that this technology will be affordable because it paves the way for AGI. Companies will focus on collecting massive amounts of visual data. Their concern won’t be competition but rather access to data.
you are right, so far we had been limited with text & speech to interact with language models, live feed from camera will open up new channels to pass information! nice video, thanks for sharing :)
4:20 The ability to assist in cooking or making a cocktail is impressive. Such ability can be tailored to get other tasks done. 8:54 Long term memory or having ample memory is a useful feature. If the long term memory can be turn on or off that will be great. 9:13 Having a perfect ecosystem that works with many platform, apps and devices is perfect for a great experience. The more, the merrier.
I find it interesting that all these "glasses" are really trying to harvest data and sell you AI rather than actually improving your vision. I'd love glasses that could allow me to focus at any distance, zoom in when I wanted, improve peripheral vision, give me night-time vision, and so on. The AI stuff is already available on phones and computers.
Agents. Google appears to actually be developing the next platform. I want to wear the glasses and be able to ask an assistant to do all the things that I currently get my phone to do: Take pictures and videos. Play music. Give me directions. Remember what hotel room I'm in. Make a music playlist. Order a meal for takeout. Tell me if the item I'm looking at in a store is a good deal. Remind me I need to leave in ten minutes to go to a meeting. I.e. everything except visual content consumption. And glasses tied to a LLM connect d to agents is one way of doing this.
So in the not too distant future, you don’t have to remember anything, or know anything, or learn anything, or read anything? What happens when AI replaces content creators?
Having a photographic memory can be useful for exposing people who speak untruthfully, but the problem is we already know people who do that constantly and what do we do with them? We give them effectively infinite money and power. We already know they don't tell the truth and we already have receipts so what good would it do to have a chat bot agree with that evaluation?
Great job, love the video! Project Astra looks awesome. I've been playing around with Chat GPTs live mode as well. It's amazing, and exactly like you said, we have to make the distinction of where we want to draw the line. At the same time, as MKBHD has said, for an AI to be good, it has to know a lot, if not everything, about you. I agree, I think Google definitely is set up for success if they implement it right. Keep killing it!
I'm happy to have known about Android XR through your video. Thanks for being so brief and explaining things so well. Your skills are tremendous. I wish you grow faster than the lightning strike in your career.
Both using it on your phone and through glasses are really nice, though I’d like to experience the latter more. For someone who already wears glasses for everything, are you able to get prescription lenses for those possibly like the Ray Bans? If so, that would be fantastic. I definitely understand the privacy concerns too as Google is one of the Big Tech companies notoriously known for selling your personal data to other companies, so if I ever wanted to actually give it a shot, I think that’s a valid concern and one that would concern me too.
Scary. So if I put on someone else's glasses, I could work out where that person went, who they talked to, what they bought, and the keycode to their house, safe, business or bank account. Excellent.
Jacklyn, you give me hope for your generation and the future of mankind. Now, if we can just keep my generation from blowin us all up. Thank you. Love ya. You're awesome.
