It's even worse than this. He spoke about it on the 49th day after her death : in Korea this is an important day. The soul can now leave and be reborn and there are family ceremonies to say goodbye. V obviously could not be there. Many of the haters fully understood the significance of the day. Truly despicable.

The sad thing is that it hasn't stopped! Even now, there are antis claiming sajaegi back in 2017-18, that BTS is somehow connected to some religious cult, and other ridiculous claims. They hate the fact that even though the guys are all serving in the military, they are still winning awards left and right! If they don't like BTS then fine. Go support your favorite artists and stop trying destroy others' careers. These people need to stop hiding behind their computer screens and get a life. Thank you so much, Dad, for your positive support for our beloved seven. 💜

The death threats are why they have to have so many bodyguards. When they're on tour they have to have between 150 to 200 bodyguards. They are so close because they've gone through hell and back together. Look what Helen DeGeneres did to them when Jim and was traveling under a death threat and she had a man jump out of a container right next to jimin on stage and scared The living daylights out of the guys and thought it was so funny.

Those songs weren’t bad, but they still apologized. They were nothing compared to the lyrics we hear in the US. They did a softer song, and couldn’t name it the same, so it was Boy with Luv. If you look at the lyrics of both, you can see the difference, but still. The song War of Hormone got the most flack, but that song is great anyway. Jimin has gotten the most death threats I think. People just want to hurt beautiful kind people.

Enrage you at the stupidest crap they went through but will also make you appreciate BTS more because despite all of that, they show positivity and kindness to their fans.. and to me this line in Cypher 4 shows their mentality and is also one of my favorite lines by BTS “Even though you don’t like me you know me, I like hate comments better than no comments, I don’t know you but you know my name”.

Why ARMY so fiercely protects BTS. They’ve taken enough nonsense from the world of haters. BTS wrote songs to help ARMY live well and survive this crazy world. So, when RM says, “Got ARMY right behind us, when we say so. Let’s go!”, it has so many meanings. We will protect them. But, they will, also, protect us (watch RM in interviews about ARMYs). We will follow them on their path to change the world. We will join them in celebrating life. We will walk this path together. BTS is worth protecting, loving, celebrating. 🥳 🎉

As someone who grew up in the late 90’s on this lyrics, the idea that “women are a gift” and “Perfect from the front, perfect from the back.
From head to toe, perfect, perfect” are problematic and objectification is kind of refreshing. That mv is still one of my favorites.

    • @1badlibrarian

They were pretty young, RM was 19 when he wrote War of Hormones. They had just been to LA and were literally forced to pick up girls and interact with them, which was terribly embarrassing for these Korean young men where standards are different. At the time they thought they were coming up with fun pop music, and they were. There was a lot worse elsewhere.
BTS has received so much hate from so many directions it's ridiculous. Hate toward the underdog, hate toward the talent, hate toward the success. You can see their response in Mic Drop and the Cyphers. The last (#4) of the cyphers ends with "you should love yourself!) They embarked on the Love Yourself project, giving themselves a boost as well as millions of Armies. The whole way ARMY has stood right behind them, we love them, they love us. There's even some kind of corporate bs going on now involving something from 2017. BigHit is suing with teams of lawyers. We're all reporting slander we see. The song Not Today has reached #1 (yesterday) because we're not gonna take it. Just a lot of sick, jealous people out there. P.S. I'm a 69 yo woman, feminist, and I love War of Hormones. I know how teenage boys are!!

What’s sad is now that they are in the service the wolves have come out and it is BAD! I honestly worry for their mental health. How much can one person or group take. THIS is one of the main reasons BTS and ARMY have such an indestructible bond. BTS knows that ARMY is there for them.
Just in the past few months the Maknae line and RM have faced hate. RM simply posted a song and apparently people in one side of the Middle East war don’t like that person so they were awful to RM. A black person that V worked with on his solo album gave him a durag. Someone saw it hanging behind him in a live, so he tried it on for them and antis said he was being racist and disrespectful to black people. Some try to drag them into the war and have tried to get them boycotted because they haven’t spoken out. Honestly some were already in the service abs couldn’t speak out even if they wanted to. I don’t believe in shaming or trying to force people to take your side in these complex issues.
In recent months Sasaengs have bothered V and JK. One follower V into the elevator where he LIVES and presented him with a marriage license. JK has them showing up at his home, the gym and sending food to his home. I saw a tweet from someone (after JK’s album came out in November asking to get in touch with Sasaengs. He said he know things about JK’s family’s routines and where they live. He was asking for someone to SL4 ugh ter JK or his family. At the end he said maybe doing it to his entire family would be best because it would break him and be harder on him. I’m sure theee is A LOT I have missed just in the last few months, but my brain, emotions and my heart are tired. I’m telling you there is e¥il out there I was unaware of before falling in love with these seven boys from Korea. I’m just a naive Texan who never knew fandoms could be so toxic. And death threats for ANY OF THEM are an outrage.

      @roguechevelle 13 днів тому

Yeah sadly as good as xCeleste's video is there is a few details that I find important to clarify left out or minimalized a bit like not mentioning the French artists speaking out days later that he knew nothing about this "plagiarism claim" the reporter took it upon himself to make that claim, the reporter was also known to work for YG Entertainment and that site is where they published the article about the accusation. He didn't think they were copying his artwork and was a fan of them. Also not translating the comment under the member of Crayon Pop's video describing how BTS were treated as that person witnessed it all and only translating Way's response to the comment. I know she was trying to be careful not to stir up the antis by mentioning names I get that but somethings were described in a G rated way that didn't reflect the real events well.

BTS before they debuted were dancers, J-Hope and Jungkook danced for fashion shows and singers that needed help with back up dancers, RM and Suga rapped underground until they debuted and became an official idol group. These artists that spoke in that panel and said that BTS rappers weren't real rappers actually tried out for BTS until they found out they were going to turn into an idol group. So underground disowned them and after they debuted they were ousted out of music shows because they came from a small agency. It was very difficult to find their work in the 2013s and 2014s. So many today say "OH NO" you don't know what your talking about but the few of us in the US who really worked at trying to follow them early on it was difficult because Music Shows would not show their videos. Later Big Hit themselves would record them and show the videos.
Be aware that most of the problems come from fans of idol groups that hate that their own idol group doesn't get enough love from their fans. Even today these idols fans are again blaming BTS for Sajaegi so much so that the government of Korea is now investigating BTS for Chart Manipulation (Sajaegi).
On the Mysogyny claims Boy In Love and War of Horomones were songs that objectify women. My take on it has always been that boys see girls different than girls see girls and to tell the truth girls see boys they way boys would not like and I am sure there are songs written from a young Taylor Swift that boys would not like same with Olivia Rodrigo but because BTS was talking about girls in a way boys do they were "obviously mysogynistic which was not true.

I honestly don't understand fan wars. Like...how can you blame another group for your favs "failure"? Those aren't even failures but they make it a failure with their petty complaining. They are making their favs look bad even when they probably don't care that much. They should stop dragging their favs' name into their petty beef against BTS and ARMY.
Also, about WoH and BiL, it was exactly what it was supposed to be. It wasn't inherently bad towards women, it was teenagers' pov towards girls - an honest view on teenage boys' minds. Boys are rarely lovey dovey, that's just how it is. They never were anything but gentlemen when around girls and actions speak more than words.
And about the recently resurfaced sajaegi accusations... I'm not a fan of complotist theories but we have to admit that the timing of this whole ordeal is comical

In fact they couldn't if they wanted to as one of the 2 petitions have has already seen the inside of a court and BigHit/BTS were proven innocent and even if that court decision hadn't already been made it's past the time they can investigate it again. The second petition by same pearon was to remove their Cultural merit award which they government aren't even considering doing. So don't worry the idiot who posted the petitions weren't be getting his way. lol

They're still getting 💩 and hatred which is ARMY is so protective.
And they are hated in some quarters because no one else is doing things they're doing, even while supposedly out of commission in the military. This week, ARMY was upset about something going on with them so we charted the 2017 song Not Today to #1 on ITunes on more than 60 countries' charts. People thought they would be totally inactive while they were in the service so that other artists could have opportunities to achieve more. But they are still releasing music they finished before they enlisted and ARMY still care, so we're all just still pissing people off.

Boy In Luv was released in 2014, and is an angsty rock song about young guys confused about how to talk to girls or how to express their feelings. They were all still very young, mostly teens, half of them still in high school and the song is very age appropriate. The MV is sort of in their heads as they act out these different archetypes of bad boy, romantic, cool guy, etc. and has lines like asking dad how he wooed mom and so on. People (haters) objected to some of the behavior in the MV as too rough with the archetypal female love interest character, even though it was copying common tropes and behaviors in school romantic KDramas of it's time. It does look rough by today's standards, but was not at that time. Really, haters just like to pick on BTS and look for anything to attack. Other KPop groups had FAR WORSE things in their MVs and songs at the time, and no one said anything because they belonged to powerful labels.
Boy With Luv, a pop song, was released in 2019 as an answering song, and is a part of the Map of the Soul album series. It explores a more mature understanding of love as wanting to get to deeply know and understand every small thing about your loved one. It shows a more open and more vulnerable BTS, who are more mature men, comfortable with exploring their softer side. It is dedicated to ARMY.
The other song the haters went after was War of Hormone, which also came out in 2014 and is a humorous, Rock/Hip Hop song which is self-mocking about hormonal teenage boys and their shallow and confused view of girls/women. The lyrics are fun and silly and there is nothing really offensive in it imo.
Both Boy In Luv and War of Hormone are straight bangers. BTS took the high ground and apologized, though I don't think they did anything wrong. On the positive side though, they did take it as an opportunity for growth and thereafter to really vet their work through professors of feminist and women's studies...which is amazing...because, who does that??
RE: V/Taehyung's Grandma - He was raised by his Grandma. So it was really like his mother had died. He was still a teenager, and they were touring overseas at the time and so he could not even be there for her memorials with his family. ARMY was worried about him, not knowing about his grandmother but seeing him visibly grieving on tour, and so he spoke because ARMYs had been asking him what was going on. Antis are hateful people who make it their life and passion to attack and hurt the object of their obsession, so they took his statement and his grief and said horrible, awful things about him, his Grandma and BTS in general.
RE: The plagiarism accusations - they were always for stupid things like outfits, hair colors and styles, photos and concepts, etc. None of it ever had merit. As soon as they could afford lawyers, they sued everyone and never lost any cases. They have on staff lawyers to this day who are busy round the clock dealing with hate, attacks, slanders, etc. That reporter in the video bringing up years old plagiarism accusations was in the pay of another label and tasked with bringing the old and unfounded rumors up like that in order to keep them in the news cycle. The fact that they were asked about it becomes news in gossip rags and that gets spun into looking like it's still an ongoing issue, instead of long ago debunked. This video really only covers the tip of the iceberg. You have no idea. Incidentally, MANY groups have been copying BTS in many ways over the years as they got big. That's typical, as trends follow what's popular and what's selling. BTS has never complained or attacked anyone for it. It doesn't matter if people copy them, because they are the best at what they do and so they outshine everyone, and they are constantly reinventing themselves and growing as artists, so the copiers are always a step, or ten, behind.
Right this minute there is maybe the biggest firestorm of hate they have yet faced going on in S Korea, or at least that rivals the biggest, with them being connected with and accused of everything from cult affiliations and murder to chart manipulation and cheating for awards and everything else. WHY? Because a sub-label (Ador) at their company (Hybe) has an unscrupulous psychopathic narcissist as CEO and she attempted an illegal takeover of Ador to try to steal it away from Hybe, and she got caught. To defend herself, spin the narrative and distract people she threw everyone around her under the bus and threw out accusations and name dropped left and right and cried about being abused (spoiler - she was not abused. She is actually the best paid CEO at Hybe.) Part of her campaign to steal Ador (called Project 1945) was a media and PR blitz (her specialty) to tarnish Hybe and BTS and the other Hybe groups and execs, and tank their stock and hopefully get pressure from shareholders for them to dump Ador. This started last month with a rapid-fire bot farm fueled rain of online hate with BTS coming out at the biggest target. All this while they are serving in the S Korean military, earning awards, accolades and early promotions for their exemplary service, and unable to defend themselves or speak about all the hate. It seems that most of the hate is coming from bot farms out of China.
Hybe is in the process of legally getting the crazy CEO out, but it will take some more weeks for that process of shareholder meetings and court battles, and in the meantime, this storm is ongoing. To show support for BTS, ARMY is shooting the seven year old song "Not Today" up the charts. So far in the last few days it has jumped up to #1 on iTunes in 60+ countries. I am not sure if it's at #1 in the US yet. Last I checked it was sitting at #2 or 3. If we keep it going, it will rechart on Billboard next posting period later this week. We do this periodically to send messages to BTS, like how we jumped "Spring Day" which is about the grief of missing a loved one, up the charts when the last of them enlisted in the Military last December.
RE: the death threats against Jimin - They were actually rather serious and Yoongi/Suga started to dress as Jimin when they were travelling on tour and put Jimin behind him physically when they were in crowds to protect him. Even though Jimin is an expert in about 4 martial arts, his brothers took steps to protect him with their own bodies.
I'm not sure if you understood about the military stuff.
A whole bunch of music labels **NOT** including BTS's label Big Hit, went to the government to complain that they should exempt KPop stars from service or change the law because they contribute to the nation's economy and it's "soft power" (global cultural and socio-political influence.) They used BTS as their main example for this, even though they were not involved in this and did not ask for an exemption or exception and had said they would serve when it was their time. So, the other labels were trying to ride on BTS' backs to get exemptions for their own groups, so they didn't lose profits by them enlisting at the peak of their careers in their 20s. But this ploy of using BTS as their example backfired. The government said, OK, I see your point, we will grant two year extensions (so they would have to enlist by 30 instead of 28) but only to those who have won the Hagwon Order of Cultural Merit Medal/Award, the highest civilian honor for the arts that the S Korean government grants, and basically like being Knighted. But BTS are the only ones who qualify, because they are the youngest recipients of the award in S Korean history. Normally it goes to artists who have already had a decades long career and their period of military service is already far behind them. So BTS were the only kids who had yet to serve in the military who had the award. So then the companies were mad, and 26 companies filed a complaint that the law was unfair and called it "The BTS Law." Hilarious.
To add further insult to those other companies, most BTS members did not even use this special extension at all. Jin and Suga are the only ones who waited basically til their deadline to enlist. The others are all younger and yet all enlisted around the same time period so that they would get out near the same time and could get back to one another and to ARMY. No other KPop group has done this, enlisted all together, unless they were all exactly the same age and had to enlist at the same time because they were all due. But enlisting years early in order to get back to their group and their fans has never happened before. Not only that, they are serving with distinction, earning honors and awards and early promotions, and some of them are in some of the hardest units in the military. V went into a black ops counter terror unit and was complimented by the S Korean president on his sharp shooting. Jimin went into artillery fire control, usually reserved for math and physics majors because of the intense calculus needed to perform those duties, but Jimin is well known to be a math genius. He is also serving under a Companion Soldier/Buddy System with Jungkook, meaning they are always together. So although we know that Jungkook is serving as a cook, a skill he really enjoys, he is also most likely doing support duties for Jimin in fire control as well, and both of them also just completed a very intense training with the US Marines in S Korea. Jin and j-hope were both made training instructors and commanders and both are now Seargents. Suga ended up with a civil service job because of his old shoulder injury and surgery and is a regional manager somewhere. RM surprised us and went into the military band, playing the saxophone. Jin returns next month (!!) and Hobi/j-hope is back in October. The rest will return in summer of 2025.

Many easily would have gotten defensive or thought they did nothing wrong be he wanted to have someone objectively look over his work in case he wasn't seeing what everyone else might be seeing. The song War of Hormones was about young adolescent boys discovering girls which is a natural physical occurrence due to puberty. I a grandmother and I personally thought the song was cute and correctly portrayed teenage boys. I even used the song to talk about hormones to my granddaughters. 💜

Sir....I have a son older than you. I am a grandmother and a great grandmother. I want to tell you that I'm so very proud of the Father's Heart that you show here. You have a very good soul. I love many groups and music artists. BTS, Dimash and Forestella are a few of them. I am a white American lady. I wasn't going to comment at first, then saw your heartfelt tears for V. I was extremely close to my own Grandma who suddenly passed away when I was in my early 40's. I miss her to this day. Like yourself, it hurts my heart to see people being so vicious to one another. Again, thanks once more for, BEING YOU! Hugs from a Grandma in Las Vegas! 🥰😘

They were out of the country when Vs grandma past suddenly. His grandparents raised him. His one wish was that she could see him on tv or see a performance. He was heartbroken away from family and trying to perform. Fans noticed how sad he looked so he tried to explain. There are evil people out there. So sad

Unfortunately the threats to Jimin and V are constant.
Harassment is repeated, this year V informed us that a stalker appeared to him in the elevator of the building where he lives. JK asked on Weverse not to follow him to the gym. We are currently in the midst of a harassment campaign planned and paid for by the CEO of one of Hyve's labels to attack Bangtan. Campaign supported by the SK media. So you will understand why we real ARMYs are very protective of Bangtan and do not support other groups.

The Korail employee who looked up RMs personal information and helped her friends book seats next to him on the train was reinstated AND reimbursed the wages she loss while suspended. They claimed other employees in the past who looked up ppls information w/o permission didn’t get fired so it wasn’t fair to fire her just because RM was a celebrity.
The way these ppl treat and harass all the members is truly disgusting

If you want to watch more docu style stuff I DEFINITELY recommend Rise of Bangtan, it's a 21 episode (so far) documentary made by a fan and it includes cultural information about Korea at the time, interviews with other kpop and music people and insights into each member and their lives during each album or chapter in BTS' story. We army love it and we will watch along with you. There's also a documentary released last year on Disney+ and some behind the scenes documentaries for tours and album making like Beyond the Star, Bring the Soul, Burn the Stage, Break the Silence (you get the picture 😂)

As hard as this is to watch the actual payback is that all the awards that these amazing artists have prove what Army’s have known all along-such talent and hard-work pay off in the end. They are all millionaires several times over and are how old? Like Suga says bring on the hate-it makes them work harder. The bond between BTS and Army is like no other and if you aren’t Army you will never understand because it is so unique. I say again-all of their awards speak for themselves. The sad part is that they are such genuinely good humble men that they would never say anything against another group or artists. These are just a small number of reasons Army will love and protect BTS.

Even now, in 2024, it's the same thing... people call us crazy for how much we defend the guys but it's because we've dealt with this kind of hate against them since the very get go. RM always took the brunt of the international hate; he would read the awful things said and only translate the good for the other 6 members, so they were more protected for a while.
Celeste is very amazing for all the videos she's put together over the years for ARMY.

Yes... this is why Army are overly protective of BTS and always will be... people have no idea of what they faced and still do to this day.... Thank you for reacting to Rosan's (xCeleste) video... she is awesome and we love her work. A lot of other groups and their fandoms did not want BTS winning awards or taking spots on the music shows.... so it became an absolute hate onslaught at times... I say this all the time, but I will be forever grateful to those KArmy who were there from before debut championing for our guys and keeping them on the shows to be seen by supporting and voting for them. I've been Army since 2014 but those guys were there from when the boys were trainees.... We would not be having this conversation without them. 💜

  • @MaFranu

No need to apologize for talking ''too much'', it's a reaction after all and we want to hear your input, what you think about the guys and how you relate to them the same way we relate to them. It is great to see you react to these kinds of videos and not only music, because it shows that you want to learn more. So many react to the songs without any context that it feels like they just want views by using bangtang's name on the title.

No matter how many times I watch this video, I cry every time... I can't understand why other fandoms and antis hate BTS and ARMY so much. If I wasn't depressed and I had the mental strength I would go to war to defend our 7 kings! I would not lower myself to the level of these haters but I would make sure to reestablish the truth. Everyone made fun of them and their name, no one believed in them except for a handful of people at the time. Today, they are known and recognized all over the world! They appeared in my life a few months ago, when I was at my lowest and I can't see my life without them. They deserve all the success they have and the love given to them because they have given ARMY so much love for over 10 years. They have always tried to help and heal young people through their songs, their speeches, their entertainment. What did they do wrong that people, even today, don't want to leave them alone??? The antis have such a shitty life that they need to pour out hatred towards BTS and ARMY... But nothing will stop us, we will continue to climb these mountains and overcome these obstacles hand in hand until the end! And like Jungkook said AFBF ! 💜💜💜

The amazing part about it is even though they got so much hate, the stayed humble, kind and true to themselves and ARMY, and this is why they are where they are. The don't just say they love their fans just to be saying it like a lot of artists do. They never fail to thank ARMY for their success and helping them achieve their goals. THEY ARE LEDGENDS AND HAVE EARNED EVERYTHING THEY HAVE ACHIEVED THROUGH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION!

Why Army will forever be protective of our 7 normal boys from Korea. Army just not only love their music, we love how they remain respectful, kind, honest, hard working, how they can have fun with just each other! How all their personalities together create spontaneous funny situations. I always say they are our natural comedians. How they remain true to themselves. Have run into how each of them donate funds to scools so all will get a lunch? Or funds donated to help create scholarships for the students that would not be able to attend school otherwise? There's more. Army in India, created something to help them collect plastics/garbage from the ocean. This wonderful Army did this and gathered plastics/garbage for Jungkook's Birthday! There are many Army out there that do things like this on birthdays of their bias. They said they were inspired by our 7. To make the world a better place. Our 7 inspire Army. Worldwide. How BTS brought back many a person from sinking in depression. Those Army say their doctors were no help. It was BTS that saved them. Mine was grief. That's when I found them. Suga said " if you weren't here for our debut, when you found us, that's when we debuted for you." Only someone without a heart would not fall in love with them and all they do. BTW, I am in later 60's, in Grandma Army. Will always be Army. Especially after V at one concert, yelled in his microphone " ARMY! You belong to us! Army belongs to BTS! " And Army screamed " YES!"

The misogyny accusations were mostly from the song War of Hormone because it was viewed as objectifying women. It's actually one of my favorites from their Dark & Wild album but I see all the posturing about girls as just an accurate reflection of how teen boys think. And honestly, as an American, it's a tremendously innocent song compared to anything you hear on US radio. But all the ridiculousness started waaayy after the album was released and I think it was just something that fans of another group dug up to harass them after they started to get more popular.
All the plagiarism and sajaegi accusations are one reason I think BTS doesn't do the payola system to get radio play in the US. They were put through hell when they were young and poor for that and now even though they could afford to pay for radio play if they wanted to, they refuse to.
99% of this has to do with jealousy ftom other groups' fans who view all of this as competition and Korean media trying to shut them out because they were outsiders from the local industry.

I'm a new ARMY, and it absolutely infuriates me. Even now, the 7Angels are doing their military service, and people are trying to drag them down. BTS is big on inclusion and supports other bands but that does not always seem reciprocated. They want to have fun and make ARMY happy, so people just need to keep the BTS members out of their mouths.

My entry into BTS was tru a hate video on YT, I was just searching and o found a video that I decide to watch and it was about this man called Jimin, and the things that where said there and showed, and the many and many comments endorsing that, was so discussing that I decide to search who that person was, and I became in love with his purity, and soul, and that’s how I found out about BTS. So, they all have Antis that trow hate at them, even now that they are away those boys are so amazing that you ether love them are hate them. But the kind of hate if see toward JM, and the words used it’s actually sick, hope you never see it cause you gonna cry.
