RM used to translate hate comments into sweet comments to the boys back in the days since they didn't know how to read in English to encourage them ,which was so sweet .

I actually read the White Paper Project and it is dissertation worthy. They fact checked every media that misrepresented the members. I have a ton of respect for those army . Talk about putting your money where your mouth is! I'm so glad you guys watched this. Believe me the more you know what they went through the more amazed you will be that they are any kind of happy. It would have been so easy to let these experiences make them bitter. But they always rise above it and remain professional. They really are so impressive. And I kinda enjoyed watch you guys pop off at some of those comments in the video, ngl lol! Borahae manitos!

"Why do people hate them so much?" people ask when they see this video..
I seriously ask myself this every single day. They are the least problematic celebrities I've ever seen, they mind their own business, work hard and focus on themselves and their fans. Where do people find the reasons to hate them? Like, okay... You don't have to like them or their music! Yes, because of them your faves aren't winning anything, that could be frustrating But to go to the extent to send them death threats, try to sabotage their comebacks, sign petitions, try to find even the littlest flaw which you can use against them... What is f-ing reason? Where do you find time to do this? Why don't you invest it into supporting your favorite artist instead?
And these are just the angry fans, common folks. They feel brave on the internet. But to be a public figure and belittle them on social media/ on TV? Labels? Critics? Companies? TV Shows? They are all just pissed that BTS have risen to success without their help. The whole American music industry is pulling their hair out m, trying to gatekeep the boys, calling us bots and charts manipulators, creating separate categories in award shows because they KNOW BTS would win. They can't make money of them, therefore they don't support them and just like the angry fans they're trying to find anything which could help them bring BTS down. They can't wrap their heads around the fact that BTS is winning despite not having any help like their western artists do (payola, paid streams, huge label support, big promotion, playlisting...) The boys are beating them in their own game while playing it fair. They must be waking in cold sweat, the industry is shaking in fear...
But those who do good can expect good. Karma is an ARMY, and all the powers in this universe seem to be on BTS' side, because not matter how many people try to bring them down, they always have the last laugh. They'll continue to break records, sell out stadiums, and grow their fanbase, because they do what they do with love and passion. They are very special and rare artists.🙌🏻💜

7:49 In fact, J-hope went through depression according to the members. He even cried that people called him ugly. Also, toxic solo stans made him feel unwanted on Vlive. They keep asking for Jimin when Hobi went live. So Hobi gave his phone to Jimin and left looking sad. After that, Hobi stopped doing live for a year.

This video is what made me re evaluate my stance on BTS. Once you become defensive when someone hurts BTS you remember this video. Thats why ARMY gets so mad when people downplay the accomplishments of BTS, they have no idea about their origin story now how they were treated. I dont care what haters say, end of the day the more haters someone has, the more money lines their pockets. Like RM says, it's okay since they know BTS, but who are they? I got so mad when that whole german racist radio host compared BTS to a "virus" aka covid I ran the petition at my work place and I work at a very big tech company in california. I got a lot of people to sign, especially at teh height of asian hate in (the world really), that shit does not fly. BTS also standsagainst racism and hate speech, they openly posted about it and brought it up yet again at the UN General assembly last friday. aint no body can touch these men, no body. They are now Presidential envoys backed by the Korean president, and for good reason. Those who have been hurt, protect those from hurt. Thats why these hardships need to be known, BTS doesnt stand against prejudice and hate for clout, they do this because they know how it feels.

I'm a 57 year old UK army and I can't begin to express what BTS mean to me. I suffered anxiety almost all my adult life but not when I see BTS. When I first saw the Hardships video it broke my heart what they did to these 7 amazing humble men who are still as humble as when they started. That's why ARMY'S are so protective and rightly so.

I wish people, especially those from western countries, considered them as a pop group. They really are global. I didn’t see them as a K-pop act anymore. I'm not denying they are from Korea, but I'm looking at them as I look at Taylor, Bruno, JB, Coldplay, The Weeknd, etc. I didn’t see the Weeknd as a CPop act or Taylor as American pop, I saw them as pop stars. As Asians, we always see them as what western media or people want them to portray. It’s about time people in the western world, especially the general public, see them as global pop superstars and not just K-pop anymore. BTS is my favourite pop group not BTS as my favourite K-pop band. Hopefully one day people can say that🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 🤞not just army. Anyways, Thank you for reacting💜

This video was barely a dent to their life of struggles. Facing hate, racism, criticism and bullying. This is why the boys are so successful. Not only are they the humblest and hardest workers. Through all their trials, this gave them a bigger reason to drive even harder. To prove themselves and be the best yet doing what they love. At the end of the day, their message will eventually be heard. These boys are legends, through all these hardships, they never gave up and tried to make the best of what they know how to... knowing that if you can move one person or make an impact to just a few people, than it was all worth it. I'm so proud our boys, finally learning how to slowly love them selves even more, to better represent to others who have no faith or voice. These are true heroes today, we all should be thankful to such a group of strong, talented and beautiful souls. What I love more than that, is the confidence that they have been sending out to their haters lately lol.... flex!

They still get hate and discrimination, death threats, rape jokes/threats,doesn't stop.
Even after all these years haters keep bringing up poor Taehyung's grandmother in the most sick ways.
Did you see the jokes James Corden made about BTS speaking and performing at the UN?Even had the audacity to call the entire ARMY 15 year old girls.
Anyway,BTS are now Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture, beloved by President Moon.
And today they have announced their first live concerts in two years!!

    • @SY-fp6ng
      @SY-fp6ng 2 роки тому +15

The James Corden thing:. I must say it crossed my mind, I wonder he's a beard type and if he made an overture that was rejected? As far as the two "affronts": the 15 year old joke was lazy/obvious comedy, not necessarily anything I thought was super offensive. The fact that he said it was "unusual" they were at the United Nations was definitely subtly reductive, certainly disappointing he didn't get excited and cheer on such historical an event. But I do think a lot of people who don't know why BTS were there thought it was unusual, and he was aligning with them. It was unusual to have a performance there. So it wasn't necessarily what I thought was it an attack, to say it was unusual, since it is true on some level and certainly it's what many people were thinking. But he could've chosen to cheer it on!, it's definitely not cool he didn't, given their past interactions, and since it was historical/a very big deal in general, and for BTS

Thank you for this reaction and your understanding. Videos like xCeleste's help put into words how hurt and battered BTS have been since their beginning. I've been in the ARMY since I was 15 and I found them when I was in a very dark place in my life. They've made it easier to go throughout my days and they've also taught me quite a lot about myself. For most of these issues, I learned about them long after the fact because I'd simply focused on the music and wasn't very involved in much else, but I've been aware of the most recent issues (including some from this year that haven't even been covered in this video). I was watching the Grammy's award show with my mom (also an ARMY), patiently waiting the three hours for BTS to hopefully win. Sadly they didn't, which many people claimed they did deserve because they had more eligible credits than the song that did win, but what miffed me the most was how that show had very clearly used them for views. I've admittedly gotten most of my anger out since then, but when I think about it it still gets on my nerves. I saw what that woman said about them (pointed to Jimin specifically at first) and I was both livid and hurt. I saw on Twitter what the radio host said about BTS and watched the scene unfold. Part of what this video didn't cover (mainly because this video of xCeleste's was uploaded before the incident) was when fans of another group (or groups) spoke together in a group voice chat on Twitter, slandering Jimin and RM. The slander included misgendering Jimin on purpose and calling him a woman, and accusing RM of violating a member of another popular idol group (despite the two having never been even near each other enough for that to happen, as they belong to different companies, along with the fact that RM would never do that to anyone).
Shortly after this, I saw a resurgence of hatred directed towards V with more uncalled for comments regarding his beloved grandmother. And when a group (the same one which fans accused him of violating a member of) joined Weverse, the platform originally created by Big Hit for BTS, fans of that group joined that group's Weverse and created account names related to BTS to slander ARMY by making hate comments to the group's members. For a day or so, I saw many comments from that fandom in BTS's Weverse making comments but thankfully when they were reported the comments disappeared.
When all is said and done, BTS do not and have never deserved the hate they've received, but I am glad they've risen above it and continue on despite how much it must hurt. It takes incredible courage and personal strength to continue going on even though it hurts, and I respect them all the more for it.
Thank you again, and I'm glad you can see why ARMY respects, loves, and strives to protect BTS so much.

They are completely dedicated to becoming such a positive group for the world, not just South Korea. They deserve the very best. They are all so humble & grateful to their fans & I haven't EVER seen any other artist or group appreciate their fans like BTS does. Bottom line is that without fans, your music won't go anywhere. It's really interesting because sometimes, it's hard to think about something or reflect on it until it affects something you care about. I understand people have different opinions, but how you choose to communicate it or express it can make a difference. Even within the ARMY fandom, we all know that certain aspects seem to split into 2, and something I've been seeing more of lately is when "ARMY" choose to spread negativity when content comes out -- they might misunderstand something or dislike something and make a positive experience turn negative over nothing. A mindset I try to keep since 10+ years ago is, "Open mindedness is the way to go." I'm not perfect, and I slip, but it's a continuous progress. Running into all these conflicts really remind me that I need to consider different aspects before forming my own opinion, and I hope others will, too, instead of running headstrong with whatever they want or whatever they initially think. Especially when it comes to BTS, when I see others who are not familiar make harsh comments right away, or when I see "ARMY" defend the group by lashing out, I wish both sides would be able to reflect on what they're doing or saying, how they're doing it, and how it affects the people they represent, whether they intend to represent them or not.

I just found you guys. Appreciate your thoughts and so glad you found some of the horrible things that they have had to endure. I believe they have survived for a few reasons.
    1) KIM NAMJOON as THE LEADER has eloquently and bravely addressed the haters in speech, songs, raps, etc. HE IS THE FOUNDATION OF BTS AND HE LOVES HIS BROTHERS/BTS AND PROTECTS THEM LIKE A MOMA BEAR! Even when he was the brunt of hateful comments, he has ROSE ABOVE WITH GREAT FORTITUDE AND DETERMINATION to KEEP HIS BROTHERS TOGETHER.
    2) The other brothers/members physically and emotionally protect one another. They lift them up with encouragement, hugs, listening ears. They kid around playfully with each other but JUST LIKE BLOOD BROTHERS, when attacked, they shield and defend.
    3) ARMY is right behind them strategizing on how to uplift, shelter and preserve their beloved young men from further pain.
It’s tragic and EVIL when these precious, hard working, amazing, respectful, young men are abused verbally and threatened DEATH.

I’m not an army but I recently saw that clip with Jungkook buying burgers for the other people. It was so heartbreaking to watch because of the way they criticised him and turned his kind gesture away. He was so excited about it and said “look look” and then they just disrespected him like that. I can’t with people like that, just say thank you and eat it later. I almost cried (I’m a very sensitive person sometimes), I bet if Rm was there too they wouldn’t have acted like that.

Regarding BTS and the misogyny accusation - if you actually listen to the song in question, Boy in Love, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. When you look st songs now with bad language and twerking in short shorts with it all on display, the BTS song is literally talking about a young person's up and down feelings. Maybe give it a watch, I am sure you will agree!🤟💜

You guys know what, RM is such a good leader that he would intentionally mistranslate hate messages so as to protect the boys.

It really makes no sense that because you like a band you want another one to fail i don't get it! music is music, and the way an artist expresses it is different from another. nobody makes no one listen to them ITS A FREAKIN CHOICE. C'EST TOUT. OMG. People that think that BTS is not important are the first one to take out on their own precious time and hate on them. I know all of this and watching it with you guys i still can't believe they went through all this shit. it makes me angry every time! AND still today people look down on them. If you don't like BTS just ignore them, live your life... they're gonna get love from us, it's fine.
ANYWAY I really enjoy your videos guys, BTS inspires me everyday, I hope they'll do the same for you!!!!
    Bisous from Paris!

They're so messed up.. With those threats, I feel like if I was a BTS members.. I would sue all of them.. Because it's so frustrating to watch when you guys already have a deep depression and stress with a lot of things then suddenly come out with a new death threats.. And one more thing.. I don't think you guys can make a fun for someone who already dead.. Especially to the people who lose the person that they love the most.. And they even told him to go with his grandmother who actually dead that time.. Are you guys dumb or blind??.. This is one of the reasons why we are so overprotective.. We cannot see our boys cried because of those stupid haters.. I hope you guys stay healthy🙏 ☺

Please continue to do more BTS content there is so much material out there for you to react to! Thank you and God bless🙏🏼💜✌️

these were just some of the hate they encountered. i understand why ARMYs are always defensive. ARMYs are doing a great job when they fact check everything and educate haters and ARMYs. this video always make me tear up , its so hard to watch.. whew, how did BTS handle all that!?! people are cruel, cruel!

It not hard to be army at all. Stanning these guys is one of the best things I've done in my life. What's hard is trying to explain to family (especially a spouse) and friends why you love and support them. Hearing someone that you thought you knew and that you really love saying really racist and homophobic comments and then vehemently having to defend the guys. I trust bighit I trust BTS. They are strong and show that they can weather any storm. I feel proud to defend them to anyone. Hopefully I can get through to one person to show them how wonderful talented and caring they are. They're not just a boy band. they are good ppl too.

Now these 7 guys are SK's pride especially SK's president. They are now SK's especial government envoys for culture and the youth. All 7 boys are holding a diplomatic passport and they recently delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly (their 2nd time) together with their president. From living in a small apartment to now a big house for all 7 of them. And yes they purchase that house for all of them which they still continue to share with. They have been living together for almost 10 years now that their bond and friendship is strong and solid. Suga and Jin usually cook for all the boys and the rest would have their share of any household chores. When they are on vacation to their respective families they missed each other and would all go back to their shared house. Thank you for reacting to this.

I don’t understand some people. Their need to hate. Trying to degrade others, using whatever to do so. When I hear about attacks like these and mockery, I’m always initially shocked, because I could never see what they see nor think what they think or say what they say. I seriously don’t understand the need some have to make anyone feel bad 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️.

When it comes to things like misogyny or racism or whatever don't just say that people are to sensitive nowadays. Korea have a lot to work on in both those parts and even if accusations against BTS and long past mistakes have been blown out of proportion and some hang on to things that were done without bad intention we should not act like BTS have never done anything wrong but it is long past and over. They are human and just like anyone they have made mistakes. BUT they have learnt from it and corrected themselves and spread awareness.
They are a great example and role models. Things shouldn't just be swept under the rug or be met with defensive comments. If you make a mistake, if you hurt someone learn from it, just like they did, like RM did after the misogyny accusations.

Great video. I have only two laments. XCeleste did not include the name of the fandom which created much of the early hate toward BTS nor did she go deep into their reasoning. Much of the hate came from the fanbase for EXO, but I want to strongly emphasize that EXO was not involved in any of the hate and is a quality group. it was a subset of their fans who got out of hand. Secondly, as BTS entered the Western media there was a trend to dismiss them as primarily visuals for screaming teenage girls. This contributed to males and older Westerners being hesitant to engage BTS simply and created an easy path toward BTS being stereotyped as a foreign boyband riding on visuals with minimal music of value. While language was certainly a factor, BTS radio play was kept at near zero until they strategically decided to do some Western styled offerings in English which gained traction.

BTS is amazing and yet they've faced so much, which in part makes them so amazing. What wasn't said was that ARMY met the $1 million donation to black lives matter...in 24 hours. It also didn't mention the other charities BTS has given to, or ARMY. For a group, and in some cases a fandom, that is treated poorly and looked down on...BTS and ARMY are some of the most giving as well. BTS has taught and shown ARMY hwo to be so caring and how to work to change the world, one bit at a time, in order to make it better for everyone. Thank you for watching this video and reacting to it.
