Hedley BC is a spectacular place! Recently visited this beautiful little town and checked out Mascot Mines! So far one of our favourite places on earth! ⛏🌍
Thank you for posting so many episodes of the old show. A true treasure of historic tidbits sprinkled about with gold dust and nuggets. Add the lost mine / cache story, what more could one ask for? Good on you, fraser
Awesome! Thank you Talia & Jeremy for sharing this. Len & I used to watch Gold Trails and Ghost Towns when we had an opportunity, but never seen the ones on Hedley. Enjoyed it very much, thank you, and subscribed to the series on UA-cam.
I just love it when the innocent, timid, good hearted people double down the jerks, crooks, swindlers taking advantage of them. Good people far too often are victimized. Even too this day.
i climbed it Once, it is Steep, yhou can still get a few milligrams of gold, in a hand full, probably sept. best viewing take the Apex road, in your 4x4, and go in that way,
The man who ran Shatford's store at Hedley was called Frank French. Previously Frank had run Shatford's store at Fairview, and was one of the survivors of the hotel fire that was described in the Fairview episode of this TV series. Frank and his partners had several claims in the Hedley area, and he did well enough to buy out Shatford's store in 1912.
There will never be another like Bill Barlee. He was such a wealth of knowledge. It's great we have all these stories on film.
This was and still is one of the best TV shows ever. Bill Barlee RIP was a great story teller Mike Roberts, set it up the show great also
The virus made me search this out ... nothing better on the internet, anywhere; wonderful series; knowledgable hosts, Mike and Bill.

Fun fact: the band Hedley is named after the town, as they are from Hedley. They used to play backyard parties when I was younger.

Originally watched this in the 80's the history is fascinating!
I love BC's mining history. I also love Bill Barlee's comb-over and dye job.
Takes me back to being young

This is gold✌
Need a Kimberley episode or Fisherville up the wild horse.
The good news is that they are refurbishing that mine. It is closed right now April 2024 but will be open for touring eventually.
Good Stuff!
It was preserved, I think they'd be happy.
awesome account. I wonder, what became of all that gold?
It's hidden in the Queen's 100 trillions of dollars in castles and land .
