How the Leach River is totally wrong, sorry Bill. The Vancouver Island Expedition was led by Brown. Brown and Leach went up to the top of Lake Cowichan where they started to find gold. Brown sent Leach and a party towards Victoria and he took the rest of the crew towards Nitnat Lake. Leach found the gold and went to Victoria, he also sent a boat to pick up Brown at the native village at the mouth of Nitnat narrows. Sorry Bill you made that up.
Thanks for clarifying the story. Bill eventually succumbed to a disease that effects millions of people alzheimers. Maybe this was an example of how it effected his recollections of the history he was trying to tell. Or you can always say "why let details ruin a good story". Thanks for your correction of Leach River.
@@derekthegrey1 Hi Derek, I didn't know that about Bill, what a shame. He had a real knack for sharing history in an engaging way. Also with all the prospecting and relic Hunting it seems that he really lived the spirit of adventure. I love these episodes and have been watching one every night. I also have a copy of Bill's Ghost towns and Mining camps book. I read alot about BC's history, and spend most of my spare time treasure hunting with my Metal Detector. I wish I could have met Bill. All the best! The story about the discovery of Leach River can be found in "The Vancouver Island Expedition" by Brown.
Very nice. Also crazy there is only one black dude in all those commercials.
Black men dont want to work to just want to cry this is the reason enough said. Just accept the reality and mvoe on.
