I'm sure JCole was loving the respect and this cover of his song. He actually gave rights for them to put this song out so this is why they can put it on their album and sing it here as you're reacting. If you go back when in their earlier days as they covered this sing, it's even deeper... the love, respect they have for JCole and this song. Yet they used this song to channel their inner feelings, struggles as upcoming artists...
70 year old BTS Army here. They originally performed this song live on stage back in 2015 and this particular one is from 2022. They normally have some English lyrics spread throughout their songs, but they are from Korea and their original fan base is there. They were the fans who gave them their start as a hip hop group back in 2013. BTS is very loyal to their Army and continuously credit them for their success. They also write songs dedicated to Army. Another BTS song you should react to is "Hip Hop Phile". Thank you for this nice reaction!
I enjoyed the fact that you gave these boys the opportunity to impress you. They are really talented and so humble. They went to through a lot of hardships and stuck together for 10 years breaking records after records. They are so talented that they can thrive on their own as solo artists but they know that together, they can achieve more greatness! Unfortunately, they have to take a break and enlist in the mandatory South Korean military so we won’t get to see them as a group for a while. On a brighter note, they are able to focus on their solo projects. So far, J-Hope, RM, and Jimin all have released their solo albums. Have you seen the new Jimin track : Set Me Free? It’s 🔥 💜💜💜
I LOVE this version, but I HIGHLY recommend that you check out their original live performance of this in 2014. It's just so RAW while this one is a lot more polished. The original cover was unofficial. Cole gave them permission to release it officially just this past year so it is on their anthology album "PROOF" that came out last June.
They originally recorded and (unofficially) released this on SoundCloud back in 2013, just a month after J. Cole released Born Sinner. The 3 rappers in order of their appearance in this song are Suga (then 20), RM (then 18) and j-hope (then 19). Very powerful lyrics from such young men. Imagine how much stronger their pens are 10 years later!
They do awesome covers s well as the material they write and produce themselves. Check out their cover of I'll Be Missing You. It's a vibe. Thank you for taking the time to check this out. These guys are versatile. They can hit up many genres and they put in 1000% in everything they do. They worked from the ground up. They are called K pop but they are not like K pop. Unlike so any they write songs about their lives and perspectives. As they mature so does the tunes. Talent is endless
I found BTS in 2020 through Dynamite, one of their 3 all only English songs. At first I too liked their other tracks but wished for more English lyrics. Then I watched their Tiny Desk home concert and fell in love with the 2 & 3rd songs they played. NPR didn’t have English subtitles on them back when it was first released- they do now though. I found I didn’t care that they sang in English, they sounded amazing, both their live singing and live rapping. In addition the way the young men performed it, I knew the message they wished to convey even if I didn’t understand every word
Thanks for checking this out, i like you have an open mind and not labelling and dismiss the being kpop grouo. The live performance of this song in 2015 just a few years after their debut is more emotional, i tear up each time i hear it. These boys are so talented, they can dance, rap, sing, compose, produce ...... if you want something in English, i suggest checking out 'Change' by Wale and RM, and another collab between RM and Fall out boy 'Champion', collab betwen JungKook and Charlie Puth 'Left and Right'. If you are open to mix lyrics (Koren and English), then 'Daechwita' by Suga (also known as Agust D), 'Cypher' by RM, JHope and Suga (the 3 rappers in BTS). Enjoy the ride :)
Thank you for reacting to BTS....next please react to their old song BTS HIP HOP LOVER,you'll find out who's their role model in this hip hop worlds😊💜🔥
no, thanks to you for giving them a chance, these guys make their own music, they are very passionate and very respectful of the stage and the music. in the last album of BTS (PROOF) there is this song, so obviously j.cole authorized it. Thank you 💜
If they did it in English, the lyrics would not have any depth. And they would not be able to express any real emotions while trying to remember the words. It would be like asking J Cole to write/rap in Korean. It would be a mess.
The first 2 members of BTS were rappers and they trained JHope, so rap and hip hop was part of BTS from the start. You should react to HIP HOP LOVER. But do a lyric video first so you can see who is singing and see what they are saying.💜
JCole must have been at least a lil impressed bc he gave BTS permission to release this song on their album.

I recommended for your reac BTS live perform hip hop phile

You should react to HIP HOP LOVER. But do a lyric video first so you can see who is singing and see what they are saying.💜
💜💜💜💜💜
You should really check out the rapline of the group RM, Suga aka AgustD , Jhope solo albums and their Cypher.... You gotta focus on the lyrics...
Good reaction overall. A little disappointing that you didn’t include the captions in your edit so your viewers can follow with you.
