Great song and great tutorial. Cracked me up when Shane said 'you have to fight for your life' and have that Bm game ready...when changing to the Bm....so true.
Hey thanks for that - very glad you enjoyed - my best to you! Shane
This is the song I learned the Bm on lol. I was determined to do a Barre chord and Bob Segar. A month of straight practice. I fought the BArre cord and won. Lol
@@partner230 that’s SO great. Congrats!! Shane
Really love your approach to playing through it at a slower pace to help us learn the songs. ❤

Thanks for the videos Shaun/Sean appreciate it man! You do a GREAT job of explaining things!! I was raised in Ann Arbor so I got to know some Bob sugar songs. Hey wanna hear a funny story my high school counselor was bobs as well Bob told him he wanted to be a singer/artist well our counselor told him to give it up he would never make it at it. He said he regretted that the rest of his career and never steered anyone away from their dreams again. Pretty cool tho but anyhow thanks again!! God bless! ✌️

Geeezzzz Louise those cord switches are murder LOL, I don't read music so I cue off of you and knowing where certain cords are, even if I could read music the switches would still be murder, gonna have to spend quite a few hours to get this one nailed down. Thanks again Shane, this old valley boy is havin fun.

Hi. What are the chances of you doing a video of BLIND LOVE by Bob Segar??? I would love that. I'm learning so many tunes from your videos
Super! Glad you’re enjoying - great song suggestion. I love Seger! Cheers, Shane
@@GuitarAtWorkThe play along videos are awsum. Some I can get right away..others I go to your teaching ones. Your a great teacher. I can play so many more than 4 months ago and got Barre chords as well.
@@partner230 fantastic. So happy to hear that. Keep at it and have fun! Shane
From what I can tell online the song Blind Love looks to be Barre chords? Capo? No tutorial on it.
Grate
great strummer
Thank you stonz - it's a good song for sure.
Shane
Hi Shane. Question: On the Beatbuddy (BB), is that a built in drum track or did you create it? If built in, does it come standard on the BB or purchase add on? Thank you. Love your stuff.
Hey Shawn, great play along. What settings beside tempo do you have on the beat buddy?
Thanks George - really glad you enjoyed it. I'm just using the Blues #1 pattern that came already loaded on the BeatBuddy - nothing fancy at all. Cheers!
Shane
I just bought beatbuddy ...i was hoping u could let me know what type of drum beat ur using? I get the Bpm part - not sure about drum settings?
Sure thing Lawson - I'm not doing anything fancy with the BeatBuddy - I'm just using the 'Blues 01' pattern that came preloaded on the unit - Cheers!
Shane
@@GuitarAtWork thanks!!
Hello Shane!!
Thank you for helping me improve my playing.
I just got the BEATBUDDY. What GENRE and DRUM SET do I select to play along “Against the Wind”?
Thank you!!!
Hi Carlos - that's super! Congrats on the BEATBUDDY and I'm so glad to hear that you're improving! I used the 'Blues 1' pattern that comes preinstalled on the BEATBUDDY and used the default (Standard) drum kit. Nothing fancier than that. Set it at 110BPM. Cheers! Shane
@@GuitarAtWork Thank you so much Shane!!! I really appreciate it.
@@GuitarAtWork Do I also use the same the STANDARD and BLUES 1 to play along “Still the Same”?
I have learned all these great songs following you !! Thank you again Shane, you are a great instructor !!!!!
@@carlosnavarronarcio8537 yessir Carlos that pattern will also work for Still The Same. Thank you and so glad you enjoy! Shane
what are you using on beat buddy rock blues country as i want to set my beat buddy to play along thanks
Hi David - sure thing. I am just using a pattern that was pre-installed on my Beat Buddy. It's the Blues One pattern. Nothing fancy. Cheers!
Shane
@@GuitarAtWork thanks for your help love the lessons
Hey Shane, Curious as to what model Taylor are you using here?
Hey Fergus - thank you. It’s an 814CE. Cheers, Shane
Sounds great! Thanks for getting back.
Hi Shane! May sound like stupid questions (but there is no such thing as a stupid question, only a stupid answer! Right?) but here goes...
1. Does the thickness of plectrum (thick/medium/thin) matter? I don't use thin plectrums because I can hear them make a clicking sound when I play.
2. Is there any special way to hold a plectrum? Sometimes my plectrums turn/slip around in my fingers when I play.
3. Does the gauge of strings (medium/ light/ extra-light) matter regarding tone and playability on an electro-acoustic? Any preference?
Hi Ray - thanks for your questions - If your pick is too thin it will just flex when you try to accent a strum, if you use a heavier pick all the energy you put into the strum will translate directly to the strings. I use a very thick and rigid pick. It took me awhile to get used to it but I would never go back to a thinner one. I hold it between my thumb and second finger primarily....that way, the first finger can jump on it occasionally if it starts to rotate or move in any way. Works well. Heavier strings create a better tone for sure. You don't want them so heavy that they are too hard to play - but they will fight back a bit. I use a med/light guage from Elixir designed for the Taylor 814ce called HD Light. Highly recommend - hope this helps you!
Shane
@@GuitarAtWork Many thanks for the prompt reply, Shane, very useful !!
