    Here's Roland Dyens live at GSI playing his arrangement of Astor Piazzolla's Oblivion on a very important guitar - a 1947 Robert Bouchet that was the 2nd guitar Bouchet ever built and the first he ever sold (he had made the first for himself and kept it). Recorded live at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.

    I am glad to live in an age where we can listen to recordings and hear people speak that have passed. Roland Dyens playing and attitude is marvelous. Thank-you for posting these. He is a blessing.

    Roland was one-of-a-kind, thanks for uploading this. That Bouchet guitar has those growling basses, and sweet fully round trebles that the world longs for, what an instrument.

      Agree, been heard so many classical guitar from all major makers, so far this one has the deepest bass, all other Bouchet guitar pre 1960 also has this kind of characteristic, but this specific one is the best, truly magical

    I imagine a pro like Roland would overall have been unhappy with this performance but it does have several exquisite moments and I think it is a good demonstration of how musicianship can convey emotions which technique or extensive practise might not.
