    Straight shootin' honest review! Love it. Excellent work guys! Do these lids run true to size? Measured I'm 58.5cm (23"). What size would fit me best? (assuming it fitted my head 'shape').

    Your reviews are awesome. But it would even be more awesome if you put the helmet on and give us a front/profile view...

    Thanks for the video. I'm on the fence about this helmet because I really like the look but I live in Miami, Florida and it is super hot and humid here almost all of the time. Do you think it has enough ventilation for the climate here and do you think sweat can be and issue with the interior? Thank you.

    Try the Torc T-1. Same style, less expensive. I love mine.

      Remember friends, ya get what ya pay for, and a few $$ sounds cheap compared to a head injury. Bell has been making helmets since before most of us were born, they know whats up beyond just looking cool. Also copy cats are lame. But it is true that there is a helmet for every budget, and a cheap helmet is better than no helmet.

      @@RevivalCycles Yes, you get what pay for. I own several Bell helmets that are worth the price. The Bullit is not worth the price, especially if it has RSD on it. Oh, and no one paid me for my opinion.

    I just can't squeeze a round head in this, which sucks because I love the style. It's totally built for a narrower skull and jaw shape, with a more sloped forehead and if your dome is more to the rear over the back of your neck. A John Malkovich skull. Not a John Goodman melon. Went with a Nolan N43E trilogy even though it lacks the vintage look, but it gives the same low chin bar field of view. Not a real full face though.

    These helmet looks huge

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  7 років тому +1

      I can say that in person these helmets are not any bigger than a normal helmet that meets saftey regulations. If you are looking for a very small helmet make sure you are aware of the safety standards that it meets, many "thin" helmets don't meet any ratings and are extremely unsafe in a crash.

    is that a CX500 on your shirt? if so where can I get one. I just bought a CX500 for a cafe racer and I love the look of the engine. so I'm a bit obsessed with it at the moment.

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  8 років тому

      That shirt is available at www.revivalcycles.com, here is a direct link revivalcycles.com/collections/for-the-rider-apparel-mens-tees/products/beto-full-frontal-tee. But the bike on that shirt is one of the first full custom bikes we ever built, and was featured on Jay Leno's garage. The engine in that bike is what the CX500 was built to mimic, and is a Moto Guzzi Big block V-twin. Moto Guzzi had developed this type of engine decades before Honda started producing v-twins. But Honda opted for water cooling where Guzzi's are air cooled.

    Safety wise, how do you think this would compare to the agv x3000, thanks!

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  4 роки тому +1

      I don't really know, I wouldn't consider an opinion to be worth much in this instance. I tried comparing SHARP crash test results but they have yet to test the AGV x3000.

    What were your thoughts on wind noise, chin protection since this seems to be a small chin bar, and over all safety?

    • @RevivalCycles
      @RevivalCycles  8 років тому +4

      Hey Tyler - sorry this one slipped through the cracks, didn't mean to not respond. The helmet does pass the DOT and ECE safety standards, so its "safe" but I also think the reality of crashes are that you really don't know what is going to happen and this helmet might save someone in one crash and a $1000 race helmet might not save you in a different crash. Realistically for street riding, this helmet is on par with the other helmets in its price range.
      Yes the chin bar is smaller than some, but in my experience, it just needs to be there. When you have a face impact (which I've had) there isn't really a way to transfer the force into the chin bar, so what usually happens is the chin bar will cause your head to rotate forward until the chin bar is on your chest. Then you slide on the forehead, face shield, and chin bar of the helmet. Most chin bars don't have much padding, and that is an indication that they really aren't designed for energy absorption, more for re-positioning the head, and to prevent road rash on your face.
      BUT, I'm not an expert in helmet design, and most of my comment is speculation and personal experience. Take it with a grain of salt.

    • @TylerPoppe
      @TylerPoppe 8 років тому +1

      Really thorough response and I really appreciate it! I saw that ECE rating and that makes me feel a lot better. Good point on the padding, I did not think about that, but now that I think about my helmet which is SNELL 2010 rated, I realize it does not have any padding around the mouth/chin either.
      Really love the look of the helmet. Thanks for the thorough review!

    Old post I know... but since Bell have done NOTHING to address the noise issues.... If any of you are 'riding' with this helmet can you comment on it's noise levels. Noise/wind levels seem to be the elephant in the corner of the room for retail reviewers!?! Thanks guys.

    • @free2rhyme14
      @free2rhyme14 2 роки тому

      helmet noise is acceptable since there's good ventilation. no noise, less air

    Do you folks check your email? I contacted you via email to ask about a Hedon Hedonist helmet but never received a reply. I like to make inquiries via email so I don't pull someone off their job. What's up?
