Mike is a genius at fabricating. Totally amazing. So hey Mike, come up to Alaska and go fly with us up here. I have a Cessna straight tail 172 and a Cub with a hangar but it’s not as cool as yours. Who’s is ? Come and spend some time at my remote cabins and lodge on Lake Clark National Park and bring a crew. Very enjoyable watching you build and it’s apparent to me how you succeed at any project you tackle with such a charismatic personality you have. All praises for you and who you’ve become.
I've just started watching your build series and I already have so much respect for your abilities, knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for what you do. Anyone able to spend time with you would be fortunate due to your love of life and amazingly positive attitude. Looking forward to the remaining videos and thanks for sharing!
I love it. Watching cause I'm waiting for another scrappy video. Forgot how crappy the editting was lol. Mike ur content has improved leaps and bounds.
Love your UA-cam channel all very interesting stuff I’d love to spend a day working with you. Great stuff keep it coming thank for. Sharing your passion with us. GW
What was wrong with the motor when it quit over the Cornfield? I thought it was worse. Pretty Cool You could still sell it. I see Ron Before his first Unveiling. Love watching what to expect in Draco X.
Will you please come to Oklahoma City?? I'd love to meet you and talk to you! I'm currently in Aviation Maintenance School. Thanks for the video's you put up for us to enjoy.
Can you imagine what the FAA thinks when Mike comes to them for Permission to do something? Here is a guy that is a total Genius at building aircraft and he is asking a bureaucrat if it is okay.
Wide BlueSky..... Those are 4.5" Angle Grinders....I've been a Welder for 47? Years now...I like the DeWalt Grinders with the Trigger on the bottom that pops off the Power as soon as you let go.....The Grinders with the trigger on the side that you turn on with your Thumb can get Stuck and don't go off when you need them to.....On my welding Table I usually have 3 set up...1 with a Grinding Wheel #2 with a Wire Wheel for cleaning up and the #3 has a Sanding Disc on it.....For Bigger Jobs I like the Milwaukee 9"....The 9" refers to the size of the Grinding Disc...and the 9" will work your ASS.....Local 342 Steamfitter Welder Retired...I was a Layout welder and worked in all the Refineries in the Bay Area and the Geysers up around Sonoma and Clear lake...Then we worked out of the Sprinkler Fitters in the Oakland Modules for Alaska because they paid more when the overtime Started....I worked at Moffitt Field......I had about 70 Different jobs over my Career before I had to Retire due to medical problems....I still WELD making Pots or Shit I made for my Wife...She just loves this kind of Crap...I go to Schnitzel Steel and there's piles of Gold ... Today a made a Bird Bath out of Discs they use to plow fields and some 3" Victaluic pipe used for Fire....Theirs about 10 or 12 Acres of scrap Gold out in Terrabon Oregon...Scrap piled 20 feet high....It's like a Candy store to me.
Your Plane is AMAZING, What are the chances of getting Profile blue prints of your plane as it is, reason why is, I want to commission, to have a virtual replica of it made in Second Life. NOT for sale to anyone else, one of a kind for myself only.

Nice I got draconian as-1. Loots fun.
I think turning those ugly skinny Wilma legs into beafy stylish fuel tanks is the utmost in pure genius!
Question on your composite tanks, do you have a liner or bladder in them to keep fuel from saturating / leaking into them?
Did you use sloshing compound on your gear tanks? What product was used if not? Great plane, great videos!
I thought you blew up the Lycoming motor right before putting in the Pratt.
What kind of grinder is that at 35 seconds? Vertical angle grinder? I'm learning a lot from these videos. Thanks for sharing these!

Beautiful job.
But why only the 680 HP when there's a 1,900 available?
Just kidding. Imagine, that sucker would pull itself out of the plane.
How did you build and assembled the winglets?
Must be nice to have money to do things like that.
