Kevin's eyeball, pissing excellence as usual
As a sprint car/midget guy, I wish there was more appreciation for N/A motors and N/A power curves. It’s an art and they’re so fun to drive.
Na is king imo
For the longest time I agreed but I love turbos now. I have never and still can’t stand nitrous though.
@@karsonrivers9880 hahaha. Na just sounds so good imo
@@Scout_Shitbox agreed 👍
I am doing a Ls3 N/a swap in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. I don't want to run boost. I like a nice power curve without the boost coming in all of a sudden. If built right n/a engines tend to last longer as well. Boost put alot more stress on everything. They cam last a long time as well. But both built the same, the N/a will out live it usually.
To quote Marvin the Martian: “Where’s the kaboom? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering Kaboom?!” 🤣
🤣 I was expecting the same
I hope im not zoomed in on those previous clips.
*Does it again* 😂
I definitely need to get better at filming with my phone....lol. Been using GoPros for so long that I am used to how they function.
@@KSRPerformanceFabrication Need a dedicated cameraman and also use mounted cams so you can focus on what your doing, one at the back facing the laptop, one on the dash facing you, and a couple outside for sound and the possibly impending boom so we don't miss it, mind you, you had a cam outside at a good angle, so just focus on the inside ones.
Hmm, more runs of that 6.0 screaming at 8500? Yes please!
Next video she will go past 9000!
@@KSRPerformanceFabrication 😳😎
Musical exhaust snorkel dyno day!
Love Dyno testing parts and seeing a good honest comparison. Richard holdner did a video removing things to get a parasitic loss test done. Worth watching
wireless start is awesome!!
That header is just pure art kevin. If you had drive by wire, you could make a button rev the motor up to a pre determined rpm and hit the 2 step
Love the 8-1 Burnout Car. KSR FTW
That wireless steering wheel button thingy is epic.
Time 230
Solid state relays ( SSR )
They generally fail in the on / conductive state making them potentially dangerous as the only control device in a circuit. There needs to be a mechanical relay in series with the SSR that is first enabled then the SSR carries the switching function.
SSRs are generally used in a high cycle environment like an electric heater / oven or conveyor that makes many starts / stops per hour. When used in a heating application, there is a main contactor ( relay ) which is turned on to enable the system, a high limit / overheat thermostat then the SSR which applies power to the heater element.
Working as a control tech i see ssr's fail fairly often, and of course as you said they fail om, but in my experience only generally under high/er loads.
Allen bradley makes some little white ssr relays to be used for plc outputs. Found some time ago that the only loads (within switching load capacity) that were a problem were coils like on hyd or pnue solenoids. Something with induction of the coils i think. The amp load would be plebty within rated but those relays wouldnt make it to 10% of rated cycles before sticking. Ran into them being used in the grain industry to control hydraulic gates/diverters and another automation conpamy just fighting them like crazy. I mentioned what i had found a few years prior working in a factory on hydraulic presses and they swapped those ssr relays out for regular relays at all locations and the problems stopped. Lol the control tech said itd been a problem for several years at that point 😅😅. Been there too buddy lol.
But anyway, low load i think ssrs are fine, ive not seen issues. But higher loads its gonna be a guarantee.
4:08 oh sh*this wtf !!! that's awesome !!!!!TAKE MY MONEY!!!
People don't seem to realize that there are high pressure pumps and high VOLUME pumps. There not the same.
So, what exactly is the difference? Do you know how fluid volume and pressure interact? How is pressure created?
@owggarage723 the fact he knows that but not the difference between their, there, and they're is crazy work.
They're
OK, for the record. A pump DOES NOT create pressure. A pump creates FLOW. The resistance to the flow (engine clearances) creates the pressure.
@owggarage723 in this case you can have a high volume low pressure pump. In theory it may not be able to handle higher pressures or internal relief valves may not allow higher pressures. Pressure is caused by resistance to flow, but capacity doesn't always equal capability.
Just got done cutting the grass and came in to find a KSDR video. Always a great end to a work day. Thanks Kevin, keep up the great content.
Kevin and crew, y'all rock! Peace
The Header is Bad Ass!
You are 100% correct decent accel and decell seals rings on a fresh setup!
Very entertaining video. From the zoomed in footage of Kevin’s face, to the high reving V8 goodness, to the science of tuning and horsepower, to the horsepower loss from a water pump, a very interesting video.
Awesome video brother!!!! She sounds great!!!!
the 8 into 1 sounds wild.
Can't wait to see it this weekend
Watching those RPMs climb, music to our ears.
Appreciate your time! Nice to here Scream'n.
Great video Kevin, boy she can REV to the moon!!!
Oh. And 100/10 on the 8 into 1
Bogetti spaghetti would be proud of that header 😎
That is an amazing sound out of that exhaust!! Could listen to that all day! Power gains are awesome...look forward to seeing what the new intake will do!! Kevin, thanks for the dyno video...this was awesome!!
Sheesh, that sounds NICE
That thing screams! Nice!
Some seriously incredible results! Like seeing all the different variables tested out as well.
Finally! Sounds so sweet, even better than the last time! That right side mirror will be crispy fried after LS Fest...
I plan to fold the right side mirror in for LS Fest!!
thanks for sharing Kevin!
That thing sounds so good even on video... bet it sounds effin great in person
no man great job. I found my excitement meter rising with every pull . cant wait to get home from work and see next pull with intake.
Brother its been a minute since we got a ksr dyno video. Always loved the dyno videos kevin thanks
Love hearing soccermom and the 8 to 1 can't wait to hear the oldsmobile screaming on the dyno
Man that car sounds incredible.
Those sounds though. A ripper.
Soccer Mom is such a beautiful car, my favorite body style by far. What you've done with the burn out car is just outrageous!!!
Im fascinated in learning how to tune ive watched a lot of your dyno videos and many others as well would love to learn for sure
Wow! What a screamer
I like it!!! That thing makes nifty noises. As Mike Finnegan said, (and I'm paraphrasing), allow me to play the music of my people.
Nice work on the dyno can't wait for part 2!!
Love the Dyno videos, good luck at LS Feast.
Love the noise, bet it sounds pretty awesome close up!
Love, what you do, Kevin, keep it up,,,, Aus viewer 😊
how freakin awesome is this thing. Loving the new camera angles too.... 😆. can't wait to see Kev cutting sick on a pad soon
Kevin, keep up the good work with your team. All the best of luck at LSFest this weekend.
Interesting indeed ! Alaways good content here. Thanks Kevin.
KSR videos are always great. Love all the information he gives as he’s working or tuning. And that 8-1 header is AMAZING!! but what would be even better in the near future would be if he put a whipple on it with the the header! I believe it would sound amazing. Keep up the good work Kevin!
It would be WILD with a Whipple, though I do not think that it would fit under the header!
Oh man, please don't crash it in 3 seconds at the next event, it sounds so good!
Nothing to hit at LS Fest!!!!
Loved this video, testing is always appreciated
love the sound of that car its music
LMAO Kevin, THAT IS SOME FURY ROAD STUFF RIGHT THERE WITH THAT AUTO START!! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL :)
My favorite videos are always dyno videos. Nice job on the keyboard!
Awesome car time outside!!
Growing up my friends roommate had the same style & color of soccer mom, but had the motor chrome and mirrors. To see soccer mom, 😁 thanks.
& wow, a beautiful viper. To make the noise, kickass burnout car. 👍👍
Too enjoy a V8 sing over 8K & your excitement on the dyno. 'YOUR AWESOME' 🤘
An add on for your dyno. TV Slinky, to extract beside drivers window.
Kevin, there were some solid curves on that monitor!👍 Regards, Stephen.
Dude i love these dyno videos. Keep at it Kevin. Curious to see if that intake loses power / torque in the low range and picks it up at the peak where this current intake starts to roll over. That's what I'm betting.
Should be up tomorrow! I am editing right now!
It was listening to the noise of the 8 into 1 header that made me decide I was going to have to build one for my own car. It is only a 3 litre Triumph V8 currently putting out just over 250bhp crank, and it is also a road car so it is a packaging nightmare. I have constructed 7 of the 8 pipes into the collector so far. It will keep me busy installing it this Winter and I am really looking forward to hearing it run
NICE!!!
Sounds, amazing!
Screamin' Demon in a Lexus Dress! 🤘
@Kevin your killing it showing us real great dyno info on top your builds I can't wait for part 2
"hopefully I haven't been zoomed in on all these clips" 😂 I could have counted nose hairs
Need put an elbow on the exhaust for dyno test. So it doest just blast the wall.
i am glad you are splitting the video into parts i dont have 2 or 3 hours to set and watch videos all day. and it seems like alot of people are making super long videos. and just yesterday i give up on VGG and unsubscribed to him. these long videos i forget about them or when i do come back to watch them i forget where i stopped watching it at. or forget what i did watch before i left.
As much as I like VGG, I stopped watching for the same reason. I'm OK with a long video every once in a while but not when almost every video is 80-150+ minutes...
Great content thanks for sharing
Yes yes and moreeeeee yesssssss
Great fun!
Nothing is better sounding than an American V8 spinning to the moon.
Thank you for the video. Should be a fun LSfest burnout competition
Hell yeah brother. Love it thanks for the video kevin
I Don't Mind What You Do, Kevin, I Love Your Videos, And I Can't Wait For The Next One, my Mate!😎
Good job guys
That was a cool vid. Even with the super close up of your eye
28:01, Kevin’s slipping on his perfect video timing!
For some weird reason, ever since I switched to a MAC computer for editing, they have not been consistent. It’s a bit aggravating….lol
sounds good
That exhaust sounds as crazy as it looks. Still find it baffling that a v8 is reving over 8k. Technology has evolved in amazing ways. I like dyno days, it’s interesting watching how all the different parameters work together and how little changes in each change the outcome.
Retina vision brought to you by KSR. 😊
Cool stuff! Enjoyed watching ✌️ 😎
Glad you enjoyed it
I think the wireless buttons on the steering wheel are cool but I have several very real concerns with it. The first being battery life. Let’s be honest how many of you with race cars have forgotten to turn your CO2 Off after making a pass / lap or turn it On before the run, I certainly have. Secondly as the transmitter battery discharges what does that do to button reaction speed/latency because most electronic devices like that start having the latency increase as the battery discharges. And the 900 pound gorilla in the room is EMI protection hardening as well as security measures to prevent intentional and or unintentional disruption of the device due to hacking or random stray signals that the receiver might pick up. I personally have come across several racers that have installed devices that they can turn on for a second or so that disrupts the ignition system and or the engine management and data recording system(s) two of which I put up tear down money so that NHRA tech could bust them. That said what street race or outlaw no prep race have the rules, manpower, or technical expertise to enforce such rules. So as cool as that wireless button setup is I think for me that product is a definite hard pass for me. Good Luck Kevin with your new setup
15:42 that's a zoom right there
Love watching your content from South Africa
That’s too cool
You can see the pleats in the air filter move as the volume of air aspirated through it changes.
Awesome
The wireless controller is awesome. I wonder how many people are going to loose their mind when you startvthe car with the steering wheel lol
Sounds pretty good but def doesn't have that flat plane crank sound I was expecting
Now you have to add remote stop!
Good luck buddy 👍🏻
In Search of...MORE POWER!
I'm loving hearing the LS scream in the lexus,,,? Those cars are called different things in England...or were..? Kevin..I absolutely love the boosted applications but really, for me, I love racing flat out and wringing every single last RPM screaming its nuts off as long as its in power ...now that is living my American cousin...Good luck with the LS fest and I'm waiting with baited breath to watch every millisecond of soccer mom flying down the track fella...Good luck Kevin ✌️👍🇬🇧
Let me get my headphones for this
might be a little hard with a competition shifter but you could put a microswitch in the that only allows the car to start remotely either when the brake is applied or if the shifter is in park or neutral
this just in case someone has a simulair setup and is running it on the same frequency
might want to put the nitrous behind the power on contact too for that same reason , having a manifold full of nitrous before starting the car is a recepy for disaster
The remote start only works in park, the nitrous button on the shifter tells the ECU that its ok to spray the nitrous, but there is a window setup in the ECU that it will only spray nitrous between 4000-8000 rpm and 85% throttle.
Man that engine in a road course car with a nice tight ratio dog box , ooooooopphhhh common son .
Reminds me of that classic scene of Daffy Duck "This is a close up? A CLOSE UP YA JECK!! A CLOSE UP!!
Lets go ksr
I just don’t know about these videos not ending on zeros. 😂
It's kinda frustrating on my end too! It seems like the length of the video affects how I actually have to save it to make it come out to :00. I saved a few at XX:59.10 and they showed xx:00 on UA-cam, this video was saved at XX:59.03 and it showed up at XX:01........sigh
Have you thought about borrowing Derek's idea of a beltless system? Seemed to want to work if it was enclosed inside a weatherproof area.
Not gonna lie, I normally watch most of your videos at work on my phone. Not this one, I held out till I got home just now so I can crank it on the surround sound 😂
Plan on doing the same thing for the next one where we rip it past 9000!!
The extreme thigh close up did it for me 😂
