Kevin, I've been watching you for years now, i think you are one of the most underated car/chasis builers out there, that car is going to be absolutely killer!
That is a sick Camaro! This situation seemed to work out for the best for everyone. A project well on its way needed a boost and some updates to get it over the finish line. Can't wait to see this thing rip!
Cant wait till that camaro is out of the shop its been there waayy too long but it is looking really good so great job Kevin and everyone else who has had a hand in it
@@royjohnson7760 👍 I have done similar, even learned that back when I was a kid rebuilding Briggs & Stratton engines keeping our junk go karts and mini bikes running. Then it was cereal boxes not beer, but close enough.😂
I can relate to that. Most of people use cardboard from parts packaging that we buy. But I'm one of those "make my own parts to make it cheap" so I rarely have that parts packaging. I do drank a lot of beers😂
Good People and great work....Love what you have done for Val's Camaro Love Steve's video's and yours as well. So glad you are involved on this build I see an eventual 5.xx et in that car hell the wagon low 6's no reason Camaro can't do it same engine powered Baileys Camaro to a 5.XX take care god bless be safe. "SMASH THE LIKE GUYS" damn people.
I've been lucky with the few rivets I drilled out in my 17 years total working at semi-trailer manufacturers. All of the rivets we used had a small dimple in the center of the head that is just big enough to keep a drill bit centered!
Coming from the Collinson industry. Properly prepped, panel bonded sheetmetal will tear the metal before the panel bond fails. Only thing that will weaken panel bond is heat. Which is recommended to use, to remove a previously panel bonded panel. Properly prepped steel for pabel bond is coarse 36grit. Running the grinder at a slow speed to really leave a rough tooth.

Love the content. I’ve been following you since your first appearance in Cleetus video. Can’t wait to see Val ripping this car. You should use RamBoard for the templates.
What a build, someday when they move on from that car it will be a great buy for someone what a chassis/car… Lots of thought/$$$$ going into that build!! KSR you guys kill it, good luck with your shop/equipment upgrades….
Most successful youtube channels have a second channel, and now you have yours Kevin.... KSR Arts & Crafts, obviously with Eddie as the presenter, I'm personally looking forward to the 'dried pasta jewellery' episode 😁😋
If you were gonna use bonded carbon panels use something like 3M Structural Adhesive. That is stuff OEMs are using to build aluminum/composite structural components. They make a few different versions I think SA9820 is the one used for stuff that flexes which is prob the best we are talking about tire shake. Rivets would only make it stronger. I would consider it for the cutlass could have less hardware, easier fab since you only need the rivet holes for cleecos and seal up more of the vehicle.
Kevin please stop using the red border around the thumbnail of the videos, it lowers the possibility that people watches your videos as they see the red and it looks like they have already watched the video.
That’s funny because I too was saying how did this new video come out but I’m seeing it as I already watched it. I was thinking that bc sometimes I fall asleep with UA-cam on and it plays all my favorites. Good to know it’s a setting on the creator side so now I know to look out for it.
So, internal body parts affixed with bolts with washers and nuts as opposed to pop rivets. There has to be a significant weight disparity twixt the two.
Hi guys, I was under the impression this was getting a SML. Why the change to SMX does anyone know? Any idea on what type of hp this chassis will put down on a no prep or a prep track? Awesome work KSR team!
Understand the carbon fiber grain. I build aluminum truck beds and tool boxes and have to keep grain the same direction or it looks different in the sun. 😊
Hey Kevin! Do you guys mount the carbon fiber panels for the electronics solid with screws or do you try to vibration mount them using rubber isolation feet?
How does the dry lube affect torquing the lug nuts? I think with anti seize you'd over torque the lug nuts by something like 45 to 65% Vals car is lookin' beautiful 👍👍👍

Kinda sad this is getting the SMX. Since there aren’t many SMLs doing much out there I feel like Steve showcasing the ability of the SML would have been a better business decision.
@@boredom.victim I brought it up because he said himself it’s sad that no cars are really doing anything with the SML. This car would be a perfect car to take into the 6’s on a SML.
Doesn't seem like that long ago when you had Mullet at this stage. I think Val is really going to like her new car. Its looking good Kevin. What kind of finish is going on the car ? Or are you not at liberty to say ?

I found that beer case cardboard makes for some real good template material and it just happens to be plentiful.😁🍻
Lol
Beer/soda box cardboard also works pretty good as thermostat housing and carburetor gaskets in a pinch

Probably because they don't need to have double sets of spare parts for 2 different engines, now they will only have stuff for the SMX.

I don’t think it changes anything. We have done it for a decade on the Viper and never broken or seized a lug nut.
@@KSRPerformanceFabrication The two lubes will definately behave differently and the never seize is probably slipperier. Just wanted to toss that in.

Would it help to put a matching scallop that just sits on top of the carbon where bolt heads are on inside to create a sandwich and spread the load?
Maybe a Christmas 🎄 mount or roof rack.
What application were those uprights intended for?
Keeping the wheels pointing in the correct direction?
