Cool work adding additional injector ports to the manifold! I don’t think I have ever seen Eddy concentrate so hard backing the Vette out of the shop without hitting anything and not killing it!
Try using methylated spirits as a lubricant for cutting aluminium alloys. An old machinist gave me this advice years ago. It works extremely well, with no oily residue.
Some great tips on running methanol. I think there's a lot of people running it that don't know the complications of non-methanol compatible parts and the residue it leaves when dried out.
We don't! We are currently out of wiring capacity in our breaker box, but have an electrician coming soon to fix that issue. Then we can work up a parts washer.....might need to rearrange again once we get one! lol
After you drill the holes in the manifold, you could make a pilot the OD of the ID of the injector bung and put it in the mill and use that to line it up perfectly. Addendum.. I'm sure it is perfectly aligned but the pilot would be easier IMO. cheers.
if you don't have room for a normal chassis table you can buy or build your own rotating chassis table . the good part about the rotating ones are they can be stored flat to a wall when not being used to save space in a cramped shop .think of it like a welding frame with an axle on both ends and a pair of feet to hold up the table and body being welded on there simple and strong
Vette sounds real nice! Quiet engine too! A little worried about the belt wiggling out at the top of the RPM range, but I might be just overreacting. And about burr clogs and avoiding an oily mess...try cutting wax? Usually used with sawzalls or hacksaws. Yard sale soon?
How about a winter type fab one? Take a Ranger or S-10 or Toyota (small size pickup truck). Fab two snowmobile tracks in place of drive wheels. Must keep A/C and Heater. No cutting the front end, engine must fit in factory space. Engine size who cares as long as fenders and hood aren’t modified. Three races 1st paved track 2nd snow field and 3rd sand track. Also no changing parts unless broken. So studded tracks on pavement???? Steering tires vs skies???? If you’re able to talk a few other teams into playing along and promote this. The build videos and the race videos and the all out fun your going to have. Will be priceless and fun to watch.
Not all people live in Florida. Plus it’s just an idea. You know like PFI speed, Diesel boy’s, Boosted boy’s, UTubers….. Heck you’re from Indiana right? If you had the means and know how would you build one? Trailers are still a thing so location isn’t really a thing.
@@robertlukacs1762 Bad idea to suggest to someone who lives where there isn't snow. You do understand that Kevin isn't a u-tuber first, he's a business owner of a race car fab shop with employees to pay, insurance, taxes, utilities, supplies, u-tube is a way to make some side money to fund his Cutlass build. Your idea might be a good idea for someone like Dave Sparks and Diesel Dave but is a terrible idea for Kevin. I wouldn't do it myself, If I had the funds I would build a drag car. I commend you for thinking out of the box, you just need to get your idea out to a more realistic channel.
@@indianaslim4971 sir I agree with you. But you have to start with the idea in the south to see if they are interested in the idea. Cause the south needs more time to get stuff together and challenge the north. As for a drag car. I’m totally on your side but finding a platform to use in the north that’s not a rust bucket is a problem.
@@robertlukacs1762 It would be more logical to start a snow based series where there is snow. People move to the south to get away from snow, but it's your idea, you get to go about it the way you want to.
Still waiting on the tricycle race... Need to know who in the shop gets the popcicle. two of the cheapest on amazon adult tricycles in the 1/8th mile on the track rental day... Then after your test session call out Cleetus's crew for a 1/4 mile challenge at bradenton motor sports park, and a 5 lap race at the freedom factory.
You should have gotten a bigger lift since it's in the doorway. I never regret buying my extra tall, extra long, extra wide lift in my garage. I'm 6'4" and wanted to walk under it without ducking my head...and be able to fit any vehicle I own including a dually crew cab.

That vett is so cool, everything about it!!
Kevin, you need to send Eddy to a 3-day seminar called "How to hold a video camera"... 😂😁😜
Great vid like the thought put in to the intake runner ,
Good morning Kevin. Great timing as I just got my coffee and was about to start working but I'll call it a late start.

Kevin, porting aluminum with carbide use paraffin wax for sealing can goods. I've used Gulf wax all my life, never had aluminum stick to the bit.
Hell, yeah brother, let’s go

Try using liquid floor wax in a sprayer to keep aluminum from galling on your carbide burrs. It works well and doesn't leave a oily mess.
Kevin!! I need mine tuned too!
Awesome stuff guys love yall
always fun!
Wow, that vette sure sounds good. Is that with single exhaust?
It Ys together in the middle of the car
Dang it Kevin!!! Using a drill bi when you should be using an end mill!!! LOL. Hey, whatever works and gets the job done.

Candle wax is good for your die grinder bits and alot less messy
Time 1530
I'm thinking some painted or tape lines from the garage door to the 2 post lift would be helpful in marking a clear path.
So sick Kevin
