Sadly, you are right. Scottie is never going to live that down. He actually said in the book that because he was upset with MJ, he never gave him any condolences when MJ's father was murdered, not from then until now. He also called Phil Jackson a racist. Who in the world does this kind of thing? I was a fan of Pippen until I heard his recent accusations.

    • @sirissac234
      @sirissac234 2 роки тому +12

@@joshdemay5251 Just because a million people repeat a lie or a false mistake doesn't suddenly make it truth. Scottie himself even walked back his accusation towards Phil Jackson several months later. This is what he said doing promo work ahead of the release for his new book.
Dan Patrick: ".. By saying it was a racial move then you're calling Phil Jackson a racist..."
Scottie Pippen: "I don't have a problem with that."
Dan Patrick: "Do you think Phil was?"
      Scottie Pippen: "Oh yeah…”
Nevermind that as sports historian Jack Silverstein pointed out, Phil Jackson had designed that exact play for Kukoc during a game against the Pacers earlier that season. It worked then, and it worked again. Instead Scottie Pippen refused to play and gave up on his team because he wanted to whine about how Jackson didn’t give him the play he wanted, claiming he was a racist giving Kukoc the play because he was white. The Last Dance documentary pointed this out. That Scottie quit on his teammates.
What Scottie Pippen actually wrote in his book months later.
"I was so hurt when he picked Toni over me that I needed to come up with an explanation for why I was rejected. For why, after everything I had given to the Chicago Bulls, I wasn’t allowed to have my moment. So I told myself at the time that Phil’s decision must have been racially motivated, and I allowed myself to believe that lie for nearly 30 years. Only when I saw my words in print did it dawn on me how wrong I was.”
Nowhere did he make a public apology to Phil Jackson. He only QUIETLY walked back his BS accusation after LOUDLY making it at least two different times in the press. It got huge press and he did not do the decent or honorable thing in response. It was a BS cowardly move that he never made right.
Go ahead and make your argument why Phil Jackson is a bigot though.

Braveheart is a pretty awesome movie. He's not really on TV outside local weekend broadcasts, but Clyde Drexler loves Braveheart too.
There's a small movie theater at MFAH, and sometimes they do a special event for a prominent Houstonian where they show their favorite movies and memorialize it with a poster. Most are posters for high-brow art films I've never heard of for academics and artists I've never heard of, then there's Braveheart with Clyde's name under it, lol. I don't know a lot about art films and stuff like that, but as far as 'mainstream' movies go, Braveheart is one of the best to me, so at least Chuck and Clyde have good taste.

This topic and show, is really what I like to see more of. Matter of fact when you go back even further its so much to refresh your mind on and also your prospectives. For instance, I was such a Lakers fan, I live in Chicago and was cheering for the Lakers. I was such a Laker fan, I couldn't truly fully appreciate Bird. I just remember Bird was the only player in NBA History I feared the most taking the last shot. Then MJ, kept getting better and better on both sides of the ball,so much so he dominated equally as much on the defensive end. No one ever seen that in NBA History. So for me I'm realistic. Between the three, you really can't go wrong.

Love Da Jett, but I disagree with his commit of fundamentally sound going to MJ. Sure, defensively there maybe no comparison till this day. But offensively surely I would dare to say Larry Bird. Matter of fact, Bird had the most practiced game in NBA History. I like Da Shaq Daddy, thought many of the shots was luck. But after years of watching, it dawned on me that Bird never shot a shot he at some point didn't practice on. Everything was so practiced, we couldn't never imagine the detailed thought that went into Birds game. Still players like Magic,Bird and MJ were so so fundamentally sound, they were like great jazz players. Once they mastered fundamentals, they would improvise and totally bend and twist the rules. Many young players, don't understand this important point. They rush to improvise before becoming masters at fundamentals.

Man i disagree. Yes theyre alll great no doubt. I got Bird in my top 5. But what separates Bron & MJ from the rest is how they play on both ends. Bron & MJ would take the toughest assignments on D, and then give you 30 6 & 6 or 28 7 & 7 offensively. Also, Magic came in w/ a top 10 alltime player & vice versa for Kareem.. Bird came in w/ 3 hall of famers.. Wilt played vs 8 other teams so it wasnt as competitive.. I think MJ & Bron are in a league of their own man.

@@kbiino7938 it's too hard to compare eras, and although Jordan certainly had better defense than bird/Dr J, there are so many changing factors (pace, medical treatment, culture) that made their careers vastly different. Michael Jordan himself has said that it's impossible to compare eras because he never got to compete against bill Russell, Jerry west, LeBron, or any of those guys.

To me, the knock against LeBron is the fact that, no matter HOW stacked his teams were, he's never led an outlier team. His best SRS is 7.0, which is honestly pretty average for a title contender. Yea, he's had some crazy postseason stats, but he also got to play against TRASH for 2 series every year in the EC. He also got refballed hard, to the point where his 2016 title has the biggest asterisk along with the 2002 Lakers. 2014 was also a fucking miracle, and 2020 was the Mickey Mouse ring.
Players like LeBron and Wilt can make any trash team potential contenders just by themselves, and are the greatest floor raisers of all time. At the same time though, neither have led an all-time team, though Wilt came close in 67, and guess what, that was the year he decided to play TEAM basketball that wasn't all about himself.

I ran up, to try to block it, and I jumped so high, I landed right on his head lol Or his shoulders. I mean and this guy was bigger than I was lol I landed right on him, and fell backwards, right on the floor. We both tumbled to the floor.
Of course I got the foul lol I think he got hurt. He was like wincing in pain, grabbing his shoulder. I just got back up, I remember my teammate was like, you alright, I was like yea lol But sometimes you just go for it, and it happens lol Once you in the air, you not really controlling where you go lol
