We naturally associate toughness and physicality with defense (not pretty, grunt work), and associate offense with aesthetics and grace (poetry in motion). A defense first team (Detroit, early Spurs, and Knicks) usually was characterized as being tough and usually was a villain-like character compared to offensive teams (Bulls, Magic, to a lesser extent Rockets) who were favorites.

Id say 85 to 93 was the zenith for NBA of course it was the time when I was a kid an u might end up feeling the same way someday who knows..we're now living in the social media world which in my opinions sux cuzz I can remember a simpler time..Detroit Bad Boys fan rite here 88..89-90..we really won that 88 chip dont forget lol 90's NBA was ok but all ya seen was Jordan Red jerseys an 🏆 yr after yr after yr--Houston rockets then Bulls again-yr after yr after yr I preferd those blue jerseys instead lol

Whoa! The shade 😎 that Isiah throws at the mailman mailman darkens the room 😳. He calls him a weak link in the playoffs in Piston match ups which prevented Utah from winning rings. And, Kenny Smith seconded the motion of Malone's ineptitude against the Rockets. Ouch!
Huge charges against Malone which were backed up by Pippen saying that the Mailman does not deliver on Sunday. 🤔

I disagree with Kenny, I believe the Bulls with Jordan would've beat the Rockets in '94. Why? Because it took the Knicks 7 games to beat a Bulls team without Jordan. It took the eventual champion Rockets 7 games to beat those Knicks. To say Jordan wouldn't have made a difference is foolish. The core of the '93-'94 Bulls team was the same but they also added Kukoc.

@THE Rattler Ewing ain't Olajuwon tho, and Ewing took them to games 6 and 7 by himself! And I meant 2-6 in the early 90's but that don't even matter cuz Olajuwon was 11-5 against Jordan for their first 9 seasons! It was their styles that made Olajuwon Jordans cryptonite, he made Jordan 1 dimensional and on the other end he was completely unstoppable even with double and triple teams! When Phil had the balls to double Olajuwon, he was averaging like 7 assists a game passing off the dribble and passing after jumping to shoot! Jordans game was drive to the basket for a dunk or layup and pull up mid-range over the smaller defender! Olajuwon owned the paint from all the way out to about 17ft from any direction and he would block jump shots not just layups! Not only that he would get like 4 steals a game on the Bulls and even if he didn't get the block he changed every players layup about 50% of the time! And since Jordan already took about 25 shots a game, he would have to take 30 shots against the Rockets so nobody else could kill them while focusing on Jordan. Don't forget Jordan avg like 35p on the Rockets but he usually lost by double digits! I'm not making this shit up

So glad the Bulls swept the Pistons and ended the "bad boys" era. There is physical and then there is dirty, that's what the Pistons were.
Not shaking hands pretty much sealed his exclusion from the Dream Team. At that time, Michael Jordan had just won back to back championships and was still on the rise. The NBA was expanding onto the world stage and needed Jordan as their ambassador to NBA basketball. If Jordan said he wasn't going to play if Thomas was on the team, who do you think was going to win that one?
