I really like the SPAA videos! I really recommend trying the OTOMATIC, since it can do just about everything despite being an SPAA, I think you’d like it and it would be interesting to see.

My first top tier SPAA, and I absolutely loved killing airspawn aircraft with it. They pop in, you launch a missile, and then they died. Wonderful

I fear the 2S6 a bit, it is for me in the top 3 of the most dangerous SPAA of the game with both ADATS and the It0/Flarakrad with their VT-1
The OTOMATIC is also a very dangerous SPAA, the best SPAAG imo
@@adriencoudert1083 Tbh 2S6 is more dangerous in terms of having 4 rapid fire cannons and 2nd gen thermals which allow you to see aircraft or helis clearly from distance and just muzzle flash so bright you think its a signal beacon :)

VT1 are better for AA purpose but not for anti tank purpose
@@adriencoudert1083 Almost like air defence systems are designed to destroy aircraft and not tanks...setting baseline brs on oh it can kill tanks is idiotic.
The only reason I can see them leaving this at 10.7 is it’s missiles. They’re the slowest missiles at top tier by a small margin. But you get 8 of them and 2 double barreled guns (yes it’s technically 2 not 4).
Roland 1 has slower missles by a long while

It's being left a 10.7 because its Russian. It has IRST, it's radar has better hemispheric coverage, gen 2 thermals and it completely shreds tanks. If ADATS is 11.0 then 2S6 should be.

The 2S6 has two guns GSCH-30-2 with 2 barrels each. Its using the so named "Gast-principle" which was invented by a German engineer Karl Gast in 1916 where the recoil of one barrel beeing fired does load the other barrel.
And i didn't know that, cool fact
the guns are called 2A38, the GSh-30-2 is the gun of SU-25
A helpful fact when using radar is that you can increase your scope scale. Your scope scale is basically the radius your vehicle can detect aircraft and helicopters as shown in the top left hand corner. For all SPAA that have radar, it will set 10km default for the scope scale. For example the maximum scope scale for the ADATS is 25km. You can increase your scope scale by going into controls > ground > radar > scope scale. Hopes this helps!

russian bias. They need a clearly OP vehicles in every category, but still somehow manage to lose most of their fights. Just keep in mind, VIHRs are counted as a regular heli missile unlike German PARS in case of spawn points.

The most annoying thing about this almost perfect SPAA is the lack of smokes. Roland could shield theirselves against the PARS or Mavericks with a smoke drop.
But 2S6 lacks this.
Anyway, my longest range kill with it was 1,8 km away.
I killed a ZTZ-96/99 that was capping on Normandy and was perfectly perpendicular to him.
Range I got from cap point display and it needed just a quick burst if 200 rounds.
I won the match for my team, the enemy team seems to be a bit feared of this.
They probably even read 2A6 instead of 2S6. 🙃

About that contrail thing, I use that in air RB too with the thermal targeting pod on the jaguar GR1A, kinda OP when looking for the last guy seeing as you can see then on their AF from almost 20k away
The Tunguska is basically the only reason why I would grind Russian top tier.

@@b-17gflyingfortress6 Yes, but russian tank's have bad depression, meh elevation and terrible reverse speed and that makes me very annoyed and infuriated while playing.
Tip for radar aa, in the multifunction menu you can make the radar show a larger radius. ( Y -> 1 -> 8)

the radar gets used to IFF the target.

just some tips, irst has very limited range compared to radar, 2nd if you already have a missile on the way dont try to re-lock unless you try to do it with radar cause it will lock the missile most of the time
Justin, you need to use IRST more - it doesn't gives of RWR ping (at the downside of you can't lock with 3rd person view, but you can lock with radar and then instantly switch to IRST) - works wonders with shooting down jets :)
Also, you can change your search radar radius to 20km so you can see jets/helis a lot further away than you would - no downside to it basically.
Yes this. Also IRST tracking seems to be a little smoother for me. Just try it in Test Drive. IRST keeps the green target box locked onto the enemy much smoother than a regular radar lock.

I completely understand your reservations for playing SPAA, a lot of them are more suited for dealing with planes and helis, and some of them really struggle to deal with tanks some times (like the SIDAM 25 unless you have APDS), meanwhile some of them are better TDs than AA guns (like the zsu-57-2, the R3 haha very funny, and the low tier 40mm gun trucks). All that into consideration and the fact there will always be a comment of "oh justin you're playing an AA why aren't you just focusing planes and aircraft waaaahhhh" but as an SPAA player myself, I love seeing videos on these
Even the Sidam 25 you take out a handful of tanks and then you are out of APDS ammo

I still find it funny that this thing is still 10.7, and it also gets 3rd gen thermals. Quite fun to fight against in an actual tank since it actually dies to 50 cals :3

Also Justin, I have my "3" key bound to radar lock so if i'm in gunsight and have someone visual, i can lock them up quicker and engage with Target Lead Indicator. Maybe that might help in situations like 10:50?

if you want to find the IRST, Its the disc on the front of the turret, the one with your face on it XD
i dont think that thing is IRST. the 2s6 has a TWS system (track while scan). So while the plate/disc (that you were talking about) tracks 1 target, the radar dish on top continues spinning for other targets. IRST is found elsewhere.

I love to place my own nation flag on the radar of most SPAAG and i can save one slot doing such thing. It's nice see our 🇮🇹Tricolore🇮🇹 spinning around (the best result so far was the radar on the Type 87, fitted like a jewel!).

Gepard HE rounds are better than the APDS, in the sense that a Gepard killed Phly while he was in a 279, through overpressure

It's silly balance, same with the turms better thermals then most top-tier tanks yet it's still at 9.7, not to mention the Leo 2pl, bmp2m (even at 9.3 lol)

@@julianviefers6703 In fairness the Russians don't get another top-tier SPAA from 8.0 until 10.7, whereas the Swedes and Germans get multiple, in that sense it is justifiable, maybe if Gaijin puts something at 10.0 for Russia the 2S6 may go up.
@@julianviefers6703 the ITO-90M's missiles are the best in the game, same with flarakrad. They are verrrry noticeably better than the 2S6's missiles. Sorry that other nation's SPAA's dont have guns, IRL those missiles would do their jobs 10 km away, so no need for guns. It is balanced.

arguably the best 8.3 aa. radar guided, great AP rounds, great Proxy rounds, armor is decent-ish enough to stop some 50 cals from the front, etc. verrrry well rounded AA all at 8.3. very good.

the most overpowered thing in the game is controller players with the tunguska since controller players can lock on people without using radar they just cant see where to shoot if yk what i mean
The Tunguskas missiles are Radio Guided so IRCM shouldn't even have an effect on guidance of them. IRCM/flares should only work for disturbing the IRST guidance mode, not the SACLOS. But it is just a game so whatever

Flares will break your lock
no need to spin the rocket, you just need to launch the rocket away from the helicopter, and then aim at it so that its radiation warning system works at the moment when it is no longer possible to leave. Old take.
