France 8.0 - 8.7 is a bit painful but can be fun. Uptiers with everyone having stabized guns and you don't get annoying VERY quickly.
@@jimmiarreltherford8464 the only 8.7 France is jets. Right now it pretty much goes 8.3->9.7/10.0 for ground.
@@sirswede366 Eh I combine them all (8.0 - 8.7) to make the lineup, so I don't notice much XD but you do have a point. There is no 9.0 MBT (unless you get the 30 Super which is a premium). Regardless, the whole 8.0 - 8.7 bracket is still a bit painful as is.
the issue with the 2s25s is that they have the same speed and turret rotation as the regular russian mbts at its br, so it doesnt really get the benefits youd expect from a light tank. playing them is just trading armor for the scout ability
Not at all, the 2S25M has a much better turret rotation speed than Russian MBTs at its BR, speaking from experience. The 2S25M has a top turret rotation speed of 35 degrees per second while the T-80B has a top turret rotation speed of 24 degrees per second, both of these vehicles are at the same BR. It's also much faster and more mobile than the T-72's and T-90, and has a better turret rotation speed than even the T-80U or T-90A. Not to mention, it gets much better optics and thermals than things like the T-80B, T-80U, T-72B, T-72B (1989), T-72AV (TURMS-T), etc, while heaving better firepower than all of them except the T-80U, where the 2S25M has a slightly longer reload but the same penetration at a much lower BR. It works fine at top tier, seeing as it has the same firepower as one of Russia's top tier MBTs while having better optics, thermals, and reverse speed. It just isn't used as much since Russia is oftentimes known for their MBTs, so people go for the "famous" T-72's, T-90, or T-80's instead of things like the BMP-3, Khrizantema, or 2S25M to help their lineup.

@@akiraalder Compared with T72Bs it also has usable rear speed.
The biggest disappointment with the 2S25 for me was that it is unable to adjust its suspension in tilt to overcome the poor gun depression.
I had great hopes for it but I just didn't find it any fun to play and gave up halfway through spading the first one.
BMP-3 and BMD-4 are both more fun anyway imo.

Hey Justin, Gaijin has finally at least partially fixed slippery tracks. You no longer slip on shallow angles and MBTs can now climb small hills!
You're right, it is amphibious. It's why the hull is made in aluminium to keep the weight down.

I love this vehicle, i dont have it, i dont have a tank that can face it and i never have seen it in RB. Thus, best tank
2s25 is superior to 25m.... but, i love 3bm46. the only reason i use it is because of the shot (and also the only tree tank with commander thermals)
Yes, it's amphibious. And when you are in water, a snorkel extends from the back. A fun little detail that I love. Lol
This thing should be 9.7, 9.7 Russia relies on t72b and the turms but we can’t assume everyone bought the turms. It has firepower and thermal advantage compare to t72b at 9.7 with the disadvantage of size and armour. At 10.0 it has nothing going for it, sure the firepower is still better than t80b but t80b is better at every other aspect. T80b is a better backup at 11.0 and bmp2m still work just as well as a light tank at 11.0. Maybe it will be a little bit too strong at 9.7 but it is much better for the lineup.
This thing should absolutely not be 9.7 lol. Gen2 thermals with over 560mm of pen should not be in a battle rating where armour barely exists. It fits perfectly in 10.0 with the T72 1989 and T80B. 9.7 Soviets is already extremely good with the bmp2m, T72’s and T64B. Plus just because it lacks armour doesn’t mean it warrants a lower battle rating, play it right and it’s armour doesn’t matter
@@zeroelevens4957 uhh, you did see the size of the thing right? bigger than t72 but barely handles 20mm frontally, but in terms of firepower yes it would be stupid op but hey, 1 modification for the thing needs 20k rp in tier 1 so if you ask me that balances it out

With this patch ive been having a lot of bugs, the broken cannon barrel, the teleporting tracks, the smoke trails in the sky, the fire in the engine compartment for no reason...But the ones that really annoy me are the tanks not rendering, even when they are in clear line of sight and close to you, freaking invisible tanks!!! And also the one i despise the most, the tank engines not making any sound, getting flanked and shot from the back by a tank literally making not a single engine sound, not a little. Also the eternal bug of me shooting someone 1 second before, seeing how my shell hits, then he shoots me and breaks my gun and my shell returns to my ammo storage like nothing happened, but that bug and ghost shells havent been fixed for years so...

You said you don't know why you don't see it very often but I think it's cause of how lineups are, most people don't have the GE to get more then 1,2, or maybe 3 extra slots, especially in just one country when they could get 1 extra crew in multiple different nations, and thus people have to pick and choose what they want, usually that means an AA, one light tank 2 or 3 mbts, and an aircraft like a jet or heli.
So most people choose the BMP 3, BMP 2m or even the BMD 4 instead of the of either of the spruts, I would personally take a BMP 2m instead, it's just a little more versatile, anti tank and impromptu AA
What's funny is I have to official аз and мз loading charts for both ural and malyshev pattern designs, both come out to 6.5 seconds. Yes, the T-80 has 6.5 implemented, but not a SINGLE tank has it other than the T-80, when the T-72s and T-64s should be 6.5
I actually just played this tank the other day, bone stock and somehow got a nuke in it, only 5 kills but capped bases and assists, but I love it

Happens a lot man, like the "projectile shattered" by aiming at the M48 gun shield with M728 APDS (and foreing derivates/models). The RNG it's amazing in such moments👨🏻💻🤷🏻♂️

Gonna be honest upfront and let you know I haven’t played it, yet. But a 7.1 second reload is very manageable in an MBT. Not so much in a light tank. You just can’t fully take advantage of a flank before the enemy notices you. My opinion could change once I actually play it, but I doubt it. I did spade the Obj. 685 and that has a similar problem.
I spaded it and I can tell you are just right ... also gun handling doesn't feel like a light tank either
every single MBT at 10.0 has almost 400mm of pen on their first APFSDS round or more, while the 10.0 Abrams barely breaks 370mm of pen with M774. It should get M833 so it can be equal to even the first APFSDS shells of the tanks it faces. Alongside that, the XM-1 should get M774, and the M3 bradley should get M919 APFSDS rounds as well. they need to be brought to an equal level of the things at their own BRs. Its asinine how artificially nerfed this stuff is. Especially the bradleys now with them not being able to fully depress at the rear for no reason.

the only problem with this vehicle is vertical targeting speed
So my tanks have caught fire on the surface about 4 times now. Its annoying because if you move, you can be spotted by the enemy quite easily
The infinite smoke was fixed i think, and drifting uphill was also fixed :(
the problem with th sprut is the gun elevation speed, its horrible
I usually take it as a first spawn at 11.3 to get my jet or Kamov. It is really good but the vertical targeting speed is not just bad for the game but instead also totally dumb if you assume that this vehicle will be in service in a few years.
Gaijin still thinks it uses the old 125 mm MBT stabilization system of the T-80U and stuff.
Talking about one death leavers, for some reason when im playing 6.7 Israel, 8 out of 10 matches i lose because my team dessapesrs in less than 10 minutes. Idk why this happens, if its only me, but It happens only when im playing with them...

The problem with this light tank is that its not much faster then most russian mbt's, has the same ammo 3bm42 as 10.0 and no armor. Yeah ima just go with my moderna and t80b

Its not 2S25 at 9.3 with 3bm42 its 2S25M at 10.0 with 3bm46

I think the reason why you don't see it much it's because 10.0 br. Which means most of the time 90% of your team will be just turms that spawn once and then leave. The rest of 10% has one or two more vehicles in the line. Thanks to trums Russia 9.3-10.0 (sometimes even 10.7) is pretty much unplayable. In 3 minuts you have no team so why play more vehicles if you know youbalready lost.
Other then that I really enjoyed the 2S25M especially the amazing gunner sight zoom and the gen 2 or even 3 Thermal. And the Russian APFSDS hit like a train.

To the community, what type of ammunition should I run on the type 59, I use adps and heat but manly apds, I was wondering if I should use the top aphe round on it
i love how the whole one death leaving could be solved by having at least one tank at the same rank or make the tech tree # of vehicle requirement apply to premiums as well but we all know gaijin wont do that cause it wouldnt be very cash money for them
Gaijin should just give premiums with no other vehicles 2 spawns
a better way to solve it would be for all premium tanks to get a backup every game
I think a major contributing factor for rarely seeing this thing is the ifvs with auto cannons and the similarity of similar vehicles. For example Puma, begel, dardo, any of the extremely strong strfs, and any aa chew through this thing.I also belive people play russia for the armor or firepower. Why would you spawn in the sprut when you could spawn in a BMP-2M or the Moderna with similar gun performance and shell with much more armor? Thats just my view though I could be completely wrong.
As a russian main, I didnt buy the turms and grinded this game till 11.0 so I pretty much know every vehicle and while spruts mobility is not good its the maneuver ability that counts. Netrual steering and reverse gear is awesome in this thing making it a pretty much a more maneuverable russian mbt it still pays off and I enjoyed it alot

I just kinda dont see a point of this when things like the Bmp3, Bmp2m, bmd4 exist. Its paper thin tank like the ones mentioned before just with less volume of fire. Its definitely not a bad tank, I just dont really see anything that warrants using this over the other light tanks.
Because its something different to use than what everyone else is using, plus its fun as hell.

@@purplenurp5590 With a 7.1 reload. Sure it has a good round but its slow on the reload making it slightly more inefficient at taking advantage of flanks. And I don't really need the round much if I'm sitting on flanks and could probably achieve the same and kill more vehicles faster with a 2m, bmd or bmp3. I guess I could see the flexibility to kinda snipe on longer range maps. But even then i'm usually full W key inting anyways so it doesn't really matter to me. Playstyles I guess.

Ngl, this is supposed to be my fav russian tank but man. The vertical speed is just bad. Give it atleast 8-10 degrees a sec and it would def be good
playing anything 9.0+ in ground rb right now is actual hell at the moment, not enjoyable in the slightest
You ever notice, that when any russian vehical ricochets, it ricochets straight into the enemy breach. But when you ricochet on a russian vehical, it goes into space.
Russian tanks don't have a turret that hangs above the hull

This thing is comparable in almost every way to the CV90120... which is +0.7 BR higher. I'm surprised I don't see the Sprut M played a lot more
The CV90120 has better mobility, better profile and 5 second reload. I do say the 9040s and equivalents are overtiered and the resupply first stage is meh.
@@Kwisss The reason I said comparable is because they really are extremely similar. Sprut M is 27.8 hp/ton while the CV90120 is 28.8. That's not a massive difference, and the Sprut will regardless be moving around the map much faster than the majority of enemies. It's also worth mentioning that while the power/weight is marginally smaller, the overall weight is 10 tons less which means higher reactive mobility, lower ground pressure, etc. giving overall similar movement characteristics as the CV. It also has an adjustable suspension which is very useful offroad. The ATGM is handy to bring as well, as it contains high HE filler that is good for overpressure and helicopters.
Other than that they both have gen 3 commander and gunner sights, a round perfectly capable of top tier, and an autoloader (albeit slower). Some might think of it as a gimmick, but its amphibious capabilities shouldn't be overlooked.
@@collander7766 2s25m amphibious capabilities is as useful as M1A1 HC IRCM, not to mention CV90120 have god speed vertical targetting speed compared to 2s25m... and that is a big deal, a literal make-or-break a tank.
@@collander7766 Another thing too is, it has worse gun depression and vertical targeting speed. Which is both very useful in top tier. The Sprut is barely used as your using a platform that's slightly faster than it's 10.0 MBT counterpart (T-80B) all in a very thin chassis and same terrible vertical guidance.
@@akid1263 The CV90120's vertical speed is already pretty bad. You're supposed to play both of these tanks at long ranges where the targeting speed won't get you killed (because it will get you killed, on both of these vehicles). On the other hand, the Sprut's horizontal traverse is faster.
Amphib is actually pretty nice imo.

Its not that great, they should give it 3BM60 and 9M119M1 and put it at 10.3 or higher.
Its super big, not a great reload not the best in anything honestly tho I like it. Its just not made for RB call of duty top tier gameplay. Its super great at long range and bigger maps but its not really that good for your avrage WT map.
even if you gave god shells it wouldnt really perform well due to how bad the vertical targetting speed is

The Sprut-SDM1 does indeed have Gen 3 thermals on the gunner and commander.
