Apparently, you know nothing about static pressure. This is going to have a negative effect on the fans and can possibly cause problems with the Antminer boards overheating. You see, the second you put a big sleeve over the end of your Antminer fan you create positive pressure that the fans must overcome. You can feel this effect yourself by doing the following experiment. With your lips make a hole the size of a straw. Now blow air out the straw-sized hole you've just made with your mouth. Okay, now get a real straw. Stick it in your mouth. Again, blow air for several seconds through the straw this time. Feel the difference?? This is pressure building up in the straw pushing back on you. So how do the miners overcome this effect? By running faster. Which uses more electricity and burns the fan motors out faster. At a certain temp, they cannot overcome it, and the hash boards heat up and get damaged. The only way to overcome this is by creating a negative pressure difference by using an exhaust fan in between the exhaust end of the host and the wall. Ideally, the CFM ratio between the 2 Antminer fans and the exhaust fan at the wall would be synchronized. You made a dumb video that shows people how to destroy their equipment. Shame on you for not doing a little research.

This comment is so to the point... I tested something similar and it did exactly what you said, all boards overheating.... Then I end up on a stupid video like this one that has hundreds of thousands of views, I couldn't even believe it

Turn around the Antminer to lower to length the hot air has to travel until it gets outside - will also help and its free
How do you replace the air in the room that you are exhausting? I have three Antminer L7S that put out a lot of heat and airflow. I will need to exhaust about 1200 CFM. That means, I have to bring in 1200 CFM to replace the air being exhausted. That's approximately equal to 3 tons of air that has to be replaced. That's a 3 ton A/C Unit just to replace the exhausted air. I don't think that is feasible. What do you think? Thanks
There are duct adapters that fit onto the Antminer fan that will allow you to use a smaller diameter duct, which will run more efficiently, and will give you a better seal.
Hi
It is a good solution, but we have to take into account the flow of air in the air duct. If there is to many bends in de channel, one will get turbulent winds and that will negatively affect the fan.
Another point of interest is the outside air connection. If this is not properly applied, you will get air that goes into the channel (Dutch: falling wind). This also works negatively for the fan.
Do you have lower electricity consumption if you lower the temperature of the miner??

you can get duct fans to help move air as well.
A few important tips I have found useful. Use the fibreglass insulated ducting. Also use shroud adapter that is 150mm, use 150mm ducting. the smaller ducting isn't sufficient.

Nicely done. I would not worry about the water getting in just put a hood on the vent. Also turn the ASIC around so you can use less tube to vent the air..
It’s actually not nicely done. This will damage the miners.
GPU's tends to have some watt leakage at higher temps and cooling will reduce the watt usage, this is true but just a few %
the costs of the extra cooling is probably higher than the electricity costs, unless ur gpu's are 80c range and high fan speed this might just cost you more than leaving it.

PSU generates lot of hot too, maybe is a good idea to put a hose to it.
no they dont, if its 85-92% efficiency psu it uses 8 to 15% of the total electricity consumed by your PC, so if pc runs 1000w the psu will generate 90 watt of heat, thats nothing.

No one really knows how any of the Antminers will produce in the future, it's a risky business.

I only pay about 3-7 cents for elec at my apartment here back east so I'm thinking about getting an asic since it'll still be profitable after the halving for me (if I get the right one). What you got for machines these days?
ay man im a huge fan. just got the ebit e9+ and it was overclocked to 12th (btc) while consuming the same as the s9. (the psu it comes with is 220v so you may have to plug it in with the washing machine outlet like i did) the amazing thing is i got it with a psu included for $200 on ebay. if you want the link just let me know cause their not selling out anny time soon

I don’t know how you can run that energy hungry b*+c# in your area of California and do nothing but loose money.
Why don’t you just turn it off and stop mining at a loss. And uae the money you save on power to buy btc. Lol. Especially if u live in California. That noise is terrible and in the worst case if you to buy a duct at lowes/homedpot/ local hardware store/hydroshop. Lol its piece of aluminum plastic tubing 8” . But yeah probably best is just turn off save the electricity and save the environment. This mining crap is getting absurd.

But this should never come at the cost of someone wanting to try out something to build a business or an idea. He is not hurting you. Everyone loves to say save the environment but I but you drive a car and have power in your house. And every time you use your computer to watch a video on UA-cam your using power. And let’s not forget that cloud backup and email is using a server so that more power. We have plenty of cheap power in America. It’s time for us to use the power and build companies so we can stay the super power we are. Crypto software has a lot of things it can be used for and only time will tell. We have to stay the leader in crypto software and in everything. It’s American vs China right now for most tech and software and they are using all the power the want to run there systems.
