I startwed this Speediance Gym Monster test back on 10/1/2023 and ended on 12/31/2023. Strength test and photos are taken on 1/1/2024. In all, I like the Speediance Gym Monster a lot, but as I am reaching the max resistance, it is time for the next model to go to 300 lbs ;) Speediance Gym Monster: gamerbody.com/speediance Save $120 with code: GamerBody RENPHO scale: amzn.to/48rbpQs RENPHO tape measure: amzn.to/4aQnMaf Free Content: ► Subscribe: gamerbody.com/youtube ► Workout: gamerbody.com/ ► Equipment: gamerbody.com/equipment/ ► Resources: gamerbody.com/resources/ Please leave any comments/questions below for follow-up videos!
is there even a next model? That's a big concern, not in your case if you were sent the machine for free, but if you spend $3100 for it, what happens once you max out, which if you are dude, you eventually will. That's the problem there is no way to increase the resistance or weight past that, it wasn't designed for that, is set in stone ,and thats a big problem, does that mean now you have to wait and buy a newer, heavier, more expensive model and hopefully sell this one? not a good bargain tbh
Dude your reviews feel so genuine and honest man, I hope your channel blows up man. I think you speak for a large majority of men(gamer/lifter). Thanks for the good reviews!
I just bought the Speediance on Amazon $300 less than Speediance site + $400 coupon + save $200 on shipping + it ships prime (2 day) I also got the FlyByrd adjustable bench. set everything up last night can't wait to use it
@@GamerBody I would say the only issue is that the leg is long so it doesn't exactly fit. so incline exercises are not perfect but the bench itself feels solid
@@GamerBody picked up a super bench pro (in part based on your recommendation) with cable tower for high/low pulls. I'm fortunate enough to have garage space so no can-it-fit-in-my-closet test for me.
How did your results equate to an improvement in strength with barbels and dumbbells? Oh for the one of a better word, free weights in such things as bench press dead lift and curl
I didn't compare to free weights as I haven't done that in a long time. I only compared my Speediance stats against itself as it is a 1-1 comparison. Honestly, I don't care about my free weight strength any longer, just that I am improving with the equipment I have. With that said, I am sure my free weight strength has improved in the 3 months as well, but the skill will be a little different as the resistance is applied with free weights vs machine.
It has some noise, especially as you get close to maxing it. Nothing crazy, but there is definitely some noise when using it so that it can cool during each rep.
I've seen conflicting things on this. Someone in the Speediance FB group was doing tests and it looks close, but other reports say it is not. I know because of how the resistance is applied, some of tests done with a suitcase scale don't translate properly. In my experience, it feels a lot harder. I can easily bench 185, but with the Speediance, I can only get a couple reps. You can't use momentum or "bouncing" of the weights making it harder throughout the entire range of motion.
I'm just sticking with Speediance Gym Monster as it is the only one I think does everything I need. I can slow down the reps as needed to continue making it harder and add intensity.
No, the Speediance has a "test" you run which scales up in resistance and reps as you complete each section. This is just what the device returned to me based on how far I got.
It's harder, by a lot! As an example, I can bench 225+ (max is 250) but I can't max the bench here as shown in the results. That's a really big difference. The main thing is you can't use momentum at all to move the bar (effectively cheating to get the weight up). It's more of a constant tension all the time as gravity is the weight factor anymore. Try it sometime as it is a lot harder than free weights.
@@GamerBody is there proof the weight is equivalent? that seems hard to believe seems most systems is not. Maybe is harder due to being a different way of lifting. Id like to try it but dont want to spend $3100 lol even so, id be concerned if I max out the lifts, just a question of when. What happens once you max out? you can only keep increasing the reps so much before is no longer a stimulus. So this machine is good as a complementary work, but not your main form of lifting. Why are they so expensive, like it doesn't compute tbh should be cheaper around $2000
Remember, I've been working out over 10 years so changes for muscle are VERY slow. Seeing this king of progress is good for how long I have been training. Also, I wasn't optimizing much outside of the workout. Example, sleep was still way under what it should be, and nutrition wasn't great during the holiday season :) Definitely contributing factors.
the golden ratios lol youre never gonna get those measurements cause theyre ridiculous and unreal, a lot of that depends on genetics, would extremely rare for someone at 71 inches to perfectly match those measurements, in your case arms is your best genetics, chest and back legs lagging behind due to obvious reasons

Looking forward to your Resistance Band comparison to your Gym Monster
Currently underway. Just completed the 1st week and will start week 2 tomorrow.

Nice video! it'll be fun to hear and see what the resistance bands brings after just focusing on the Speediance. Keep the great videos coming!

How is the flybird bench with the Speediance? See any issues at all with it? I'd much rather do that with mine.
@@GamerBody I would say the only issue is that the leg is long so it doesn't exactly fit. so incline exercises are not perfect

@@dylan-nguyenhow did you get the Amazon coupon?
@ I think it's gone now. but it was one of those "click to clip" coupons above the pricing on the app
I got the gym pal and I won't upgrade to the gym monster unless/until they increase the resistance
Not a bad idea. You should still be able to hit the lats with other exercises until then. Also, I noticed it is now more expensive which is a bummer.

You can actually import that spreadsheet workout template into the Gym Monster?
I don't think so. i just manually added it myself.
and how does it sound? I have seen that it is very noisy
It has some noise, especially as you get close to maxing it. Nothing crazy, but there is definitely some noise when using it so that it can cool during each rep.
Is the weight on speediance equivalent to barbell/dumbbell weight?
Its' going to feel like more because you can't use inertia. It's the same weight the full range of the motion.
I've seen conflicting things on this. Someone in the Speediance FB group was doing tests and it looks close, but other reports say it is not. I know because of how the resistance is applied, some of tests done with a suitcase scale don't translate properly.

is it possible that the digital weight can be get higher through an update or another system through the years from speediance
I really want to this machine but going hope price drops little. Tight budget right now but it looks amazing.
Same, it is just too expensive now. I like it a lot, but the price is high and just keeps increasing.
Wear a weight vest to get the leg max up.
I don't think I need that for my goals, but I guess it is an option if you want to continue taking legs further!
does the assessment mean its a 1 rep max?
No, the Speediance has a "test" you run which scales up in resistance and reps as you complete each section. This is just what the device returned to me based on how far I got.
I’m a resistance band kind of girl but these results are dope
I'm doing a 3 month test right now with my resistance bands setup to see if I keep the same strength standard after that time period.
the question is the 220lbs equivalent a 220 weight stack? unlikely which is what you have almost maxxed out lmao
It's harder, by a lot! As an example, I can bench 225+ (max is 250) but I can't max the bench here as shown in the results. That's a really big difference.

fyi ur website is down
Thanks, I got it fixed yesterday, something with the PHP was out of day.
2lb in 3 months doesn't seem right...hmmmm, I would expect to see more.

It's just a target to move towards. If I hit some, awesome, if not, at least I tried getting as closed as I can.
