    I've always admired Linus' undying enthusiasm for computers. He's always so excited about each new gadget he gets.
    You think after almost a decade of doing this, he'd lose interest. But he hasn't.
    Respect.

    Linus, I really respect you for covering the lower end of the market and showing great enthusiasm while doing it. Please keep covering the lower end of the computer market. It's a lot of fun for us who don't have much money or simply can't spend too much on our builds.

      +Joe 伍 And then AMD and Intel become clones, like what AMD and Nvidia were in the GeForce 600 and Radeon HD 7000 days.

    • @nictheperson6709
      @nictheperson6709 8 років тому

      +SMGJohn Not clones, I meant pretty much similar in terms of performance. And I meant that, AMD will be switching from Clustered multithreading to Simultaneous multithreading, which is the same technology Intel has been using, and AMD used to use. AMD has been adding cores and succeeding in adding performance for lower cores whereas Intel has been using faster, fewer and more expensive to integrate cores to add performance. Now with Zen, AMD will be having their CPUs as direct equivalents to Skylake, and even similar in power consumption. I compared the GeForce 600 series and HD 7000 series because power consumption numbers were similar, performance was similar and were the same generation. This is similar to what Zen might be like, at least compared to Intel's i5s.

    In my opinion, the A6-A10 series of the Kaveri APU's are awesome for a small Mini-ITX HTPC with some light (or old) gaming applications. Like I have a tiny little Mini-ITX HTPC with a scant 300 watt PSU, an ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ (FM2+ rated) motherboard, 8 GB of 2133 MHz DDR3 by Corsair, a LG Blu-Ray Drive, WD 4TB Caviar Black Drive. It's awesome because it can output video in 4k for my 4K TV.
    My previous build back in late 2011 which had only a 1TB drive, an Intel DH57JG 'Jet Geyser' motherboard, Intel Core i3-530, 4 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3, and an EVGA GT 440 graphics card could was really only good for TV. The GT 440 was snappy and could play some games like Battlefield 2142 and Battlefield 2, and Source games, but couldn't do anything else. But on the A10-7850k I can play Crysis 1 at nice settings and frame rate, Sniper Elite V2 on high settings, and I can finally play these games at 1080p, whereas every game on the GT 440, anything above 720p (or in rare cases 900p) would throttle the hell out of the framerate. Under powered dual core CPU+Low end single slot graphics card=meh.

      What nonsense, you got to be a Muppet spreading false information, AMD is naming it's processors based on rivers around the world and kaveri is based on an INDIAN River(South INDIA) to be exact.

      ***** what's wrong with far cry 4? I haven't heard of anyone having any performance problems...aside from the fact that it wouldn't run on a dual core processor, but you shouldn't be paying $60 for a game and running it with a $50-75 cpu anyway.

    Also, the close ups are a nice update for clearly showing what's going on during the build.
