- Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my best friend. Maple passed away peacefully during the night, while I held her in my arms. We have spent every moment together for over 12 years, doing everything together. I adopted her from a rescue shelter and the first time we met she tackled me, leaping into my arms, wagging her tail so hard and with a smiling face full of love. We went on so many adventures together, and she was always there for me with her unconditional love through difficult times. Music helped to soothe and comfort her, especially when she was feeling anxious during thunderstorms and fireworks so I would play for her to help calm her down. She would lay beside me with her head in my lap and listen to the guitar until she fell asleep. I feel so lucky to have had her in my life, the bond we shared is indescribable and my heart is aching.
There are a lot of videos that I filmed with Maple which I never posted on UA-cam, or videos I didn't finish editing, that I might release in the future. I hope that some of the moments we shared together over the years have helped to bring some joy or comfort to you. Thank you for the love and support you have shown us.

It was a beautiful dog and a sad loss, and we are mourning over it, but we shouldn’t be accusing him for Publicity Stunts immediately without researching further
This hurts. She wasn’t even my dog but it hurts.
That’s the worst part about it. It hurts for all of us, and we don’t even know how much it truly hurts Trench. We don’t know his face, his voice, but we know about the bond he and Maple shared. If it hurts us this much, I can’t even imagine his pain.

I lost my Boston terrier last year and I didn't want another dog. But I ended up with my sister in laws Great pyrinnies and she's not the dog I expected or particularly wanted. But I love her as much as my old dog and I can't imagine life without any of my pets. Yes, it's sad when we lose them. But we are blessed with them while we are together. There's another animal out there that needs your love.
I feel you, 16/17 years comes close to feel like a lifetime, because depending on where you are in your life, it pretty much is a chapter in your life. A chapter you have shared with a dear friend. Worth it. May you remember the times with him often.

Had no idea who this dog was 10 minutes ago and now I'm bawling my face off. My kitty is getting older and I know he won't be around forever... I'm just dreading the first day I wake up and my little tuxedo boy isn't there to greet me when I get up. I'll be a wreck because he's helped me get through some dark times. Maple looks so relaxed and it's clear she was so loved. RIP sweet Maple.

We got our dog in 1997. Just showed up in our backyard one day. She was with us for 11 years. Today was the 16th anniversary of her death. She's been dead now longer than she was alive. I have literally never gone one day without thinking of her. ❤😢

I agree and why should a tortoise live 150 years? Dogs are only given a little time because they are only here long enough to teach us to love one another. I've lost 3 dogs to cancer and I don't think I could bare another heart break. I'll get another friend soon, I'm tired of being alone.

My puppy of 14 years crossed Rainbow Bridge today…Buddy was a great friend and always loved us unconditionally. I hope he felt the same way. His suffering is over and we hope he waits for us at the door like he always does. Rest in peace little puppy. You will be missed.

@@hiiragiryo615 I felt that pain too when I had to put my girl down...but looking back on it now, my desire to keep her alive longer, maybe prolonged her suffering a few weeks more than I should have. Luckily I have a strong wife, and she got through to me to just let the circle of life happen. My only regret is that I wasn't strong enough and I was selfish, because I wanted her around forever. It's life. I still kick myself for those last two weeks. That beats me up more now than her passing.

So few people that have never owned dogs will ever understand the true connection between a dog and its best friend. Thank you for sharing this video about your beloved pet "Maple." My wife and I had 3 dogs that were shelter dogs like your Maple. I held each and every single one as they closed their eyes for the last time. It is the most heart wrenching and heartbreaking experience of my life, and I did it 3 times.
We have a 4th shelter dog. As heartbreaking as it was, when Sunny Boy's time is up, I will hold him on my lap when he closes his eyes and goes to sleep for the final time. It's the absolute least I can do for all of the unconditional love and affection we got from our beloved dogs and best friends.
Thank you for sharing your heartbreak with us. I know what it's like personally, having been there 3 times already... peace be with you. And when the time is right, go and adopt another shelter pet. They will NEVER stop loving you and will NEVER stop wanting to be with you. I think you know that already.

It took me 2 years to accept that my baby is dead. She was such a good dog but died because of a virus.

I have a depressive personality and often fixate on the fact that I won't have my dog forever. But I'm realizing that this worry is robbing me of the current moment, when I have him. I'm trying to be better about accepting death as part of life and knowing not to take what I have now for granted OR treating it as this fragile thing and fixating on when it ends. When the day comes I'll want to know that I was truly present with my best friend.

Whenever I see this video on my reccomended list I instantly get off UA-cam, and take my dog for a walk, or at the very least play with him (and his favorite wabbit toy). Thanks for all the lovely music and videos with the pup, I don't watch them anymore because I take them as a reminder to spend the time with the lil guy that I love (who is usually very excited for said walkie)
