@toxicmelons My pleasure, I am a big fan of al great ;) music. I recognized it immeadiately. I'm just 14 and I hope i won't get all "dubstepped" because this is just amazing! This music won't die as long as i am here:-)!
Nah, it's just about record companies re-issueing unreleased stuff from artists who have died, cashing in on the publicity of their death as it were. There might have been a dig at Jeff Lynne who produced a Roy Orbison 'new' CD soon after the Big O passed on
Did Andy say something about a new record at the end of this? What is the timing of this video? Is this during the recording of Spilt Milk or afterwards? If its afterwards, and he is talking about a new record... OUCH!
okay.. bear with me. I always thought this was about a self indulgent artist that goes to number one despite all logic and with a lack of true artistic effort. a masturbatory musical product that shoots to the top of the charts courtesy of the corporate record machine. while the once important artist is just a shadow of his former glory and a disappointment to one real fan. perhaps a jeff lynne late in his pop career? anybody?
It's actually about artists who die and become for famous after death and perhaps even because of their death. The ghost is the dead person whose song goes to number 1. The criticism of the music industry is there (with corporations licking their chops to capitalize on the tragic story of an artist who died too young). At least I read that somewhere...
@McCainTheTurdburglar as far as i can tell, just an artitst who only got famous posthumously, and i dont see how that would apply to John Lennon....as the previous comment says, but im no expert.
thanks for the semantics. They aren't working in this arrangement. And I reallllly love this band. The Conga/Bongo, goddamned freshman dormroom drum ain't working. it works on other songs they did for this shoot. Read my comments.
Just a great fucking Pop band!!! Glad I was able to see them live in the day👏
This song means SO much to me and no one would EVER understand why. Thank you for posting.
Same but maybe not same reasons
I. Love. His. Voice.
This song is embarrassingly underrated.

Yes, this was after the recording and release of Spilt Milk. Andy says: "Let's just record our new album". Ouch indeed.

Can't believe I'm about to ask this.
Does anyone else hate the goddamned bongos?
