  • So far the lead up to chapter 4 has been killing it. But damn, they did not need to assassinate Heathcliff like that. Straight up made him experience immense mental trauma. I mean, that's not exactly rare to say, but still. Man went through something back there.

    Basically the three cutscenes are:
    -Faust sees Dante writing a diary
    -Foreshadowing for something that is inside the bus
    -WHAT DA FUG IS GOIN ON??? HEATHCLIFF IN THE BACKROOMS????

    24:47 Based off of this and what we've seen in Leviathen, I'm guessing that navigating the corridors relies entirely on what the person thinks they're navigating through, which is fine when you're just using it to walk a small distance and you're already told what it's supposed to be. However, the moment you walk off the intended path or worse, you start re interpreting the corridors as something else, you could get yourself lost in the corridors, which is likely the reason why Faust literally cannot discose anything about it to the sinners or Dante

    At least grandma cares enough to try to help out with our dailies. Unfortunately, we cannot risk her going senile so she needs to stick to a curfew.
    Also, I think the rooms in the Sinners' base EGOs are what their rooms look like. Dante did mention that they look like jail cells and it's mentioned that whenever Heathcliff is agitated, thunder can be heard from his room, which matches the stormy background in his base EGO. This implies that if the Limbus gang wants to throw a pool party, all they would need to do is piss off Ishmael (more than they usually do), and break into her room.
    I'm also wondering if that corridor is where refraction railway and/or mirror dungeons take place?

      On top of the jail cell description, if you look at the doors and then the base EGOs, you'll realize the pictures for the base EGOs are from the perspective of Dante looking through the door portholes

    Intrestingly enough, the Corridors are a direct copy of the Dimension Corridor that the Ring uses in Leviathan. Which is most likly why Ryoshu knows about them to some degree, because from her Card art we know that she has some connection to the Fingers. As for Fausts lecture, I took it as a way to navigate the Corridors requires one to create a mental map and follow it back the exact same way, otherwise you are screwed. The real question is why Limbus Company is storing whatever they are in the back and I fear we won't get a answer till much later into the Plot. Next chapter will have to do with the Mirror tech, but I feel like the bigger secrets of Limbus will have to wait.

    • @areszeudion5153
      @areszeudion5153 Рік тому +23

      The three entrance could be a reference to Dante's Divine Comedy where there's Hell, Purgatory and Heaven.
      Also, your interpretation for Faust's lecture is really much better than mine, whereas I just interpreted it as labyrinth like Limbo realm that's divided in three: Sinners came from Hell, journeying through Purgatory before coming out of Heaven.
      Also, this scene really an expansion to Dante's side of story. Like all we got from Divine Comedy reference were Vergil and Charon, this is still a theory... but what if "lords" of Hell served as the Higher-ups of Limbus Company?

    • @nathanblackburn1193
      @nathanblackburn1193 Рік тому +6

      Maybe they keep the abnormalities in the corridors? Like Faust said you need to keep a mental map of the space to properly traverse it and the abnormalities likely wouldn't be able to do that keeping them trapped

    • @plinfan6541
      @plinfan6541 Рік тому +25

      @@areszeudion5153 Well, if Dante's Notes has shown anything is that all the people that know stuff like Vergi and Faust want to keep Dante as Clueless as possible. Even basic information is handed out at a dripfeed pace. Which, considering we know that Pre-Amnesiac Dante was a very diffrent person then our current lovable Dork-Protag, makes me think that nobody really wants Dante to find out too much that could trigger any buried memories to return.
      The reason I mention that is that Dante mentioned that the "something" that hunted Heathcliff vanished the moment Dante and Faust showed up, which makes me think that Dante alone could be able to traverse the Deeper layer, as in the Book of Dante's Inferno, which could lead to Dante actully learning something too much or too soon for whatever Faust and Virgilius are cooking up.

    • @Benjash74
      @Benjash74 Рік тому +8

      My understanding of Corridors was that people instinctively know which way to follow if they focus on their destination, but if you just wander in without a set goal, you'll get "lost" (aka. Die due to ending up in a place that doesn't follow the laws of physics)

    Subtle way to give us some fan service with Faust. My theory is that Heathcliff saw the heart of the bus or something like that and it could also be linked to a golden bough/L corp singularity. Maybe if we open Dante's clock we'll see the same thing! But it being Vergilius room sounds better.
    Also, I hope Dante's notes expand to the sinners too. Each could write something is an assigned pen color and we all know it'd end in an artistic mess.
