Absolutely spot on review. I've been to Europa-Park year after year and can easily enjoy a 6 day vacation over there and still feel sad when it's time to go home. I've been to all the themed hotels which are all unique in their own way with Colosseo being my favourite. Also, if you haven't already done it, visit Europa-Park during the winter season. And preferably just before Christmas. This park does Christmas decorations and shows so well it will be the perfect warmup for the holidays.
Europa-Park is by far my favourite park. Everything from the architecture right down to the food is spot on and to highest quality standards. But what I love most is that feeling of amazement and warmth you get every single time you get there. It's the same feeling that you got the very first time and they manage to give it every time after that first visit. And that is amazing. For me it's without a doubt the best park in the world.

I skated in the ice show in Europapark in the 90's for 4 years (the ice shows started in '92, which i skated in).
I love the park SO much, and I loved working there. It really felt like being part of the family back then. I know the Macks too. They were really good to us!
It really is my fave park, and I think it's better than Euro Disney. Cheaper to get in too!

I’m going to Europa-park once or twice a year for about 16 years with my parents. I’m a real themepark enthousiast, so I went to a lot of parks. But my mom is the one that suggest to go to Europa-park each year, and she doesn’t even like thrill rides or rollercoasters. That says a lot about all the other great things this park has to offer. The hotels are amazing (if you don’t sleep there, please go to have at least a look), the food is very very good (they even got a restaurant with a Michelin star), the park overall is very immersive, there are a ton of things to experience, the staff is really nice and the park is very clean as well. And everytime I got there, they got some new attractions or experiences, so I assure you will never ever get bored. The best park I’ve ever been to. Period.

I strongly agree with the view presented in this video. Compared to all the Parks I've been to, I'd say that Europa Park is the most beautiful and professionally run park of them all. It's clean, immersive and the wait times are respectably short if you don't go during high season. I just went today and had 10 minute lines for all major roller coasters. There can be high queue times as well of course but for comparison: I went to Fuji Q last year and even though it was low season and not many people were in the park, Dodonpa had 2 hour queue lines. That is because they take a lot of care and a lot of time to seat everybody properly. After I've been to a few other parks, I realize that I had been spoiled and didn't know it. In Europa Park it's just pure efficiency, people leave the train, people get in and off it goes. They ride several trains on the tracks at once and it just all goes very smoothly. What Europa Park does lack though is as you said, more flat thrill rides and maybe one more really record reaching roller coaster. The thrill coasters they have are nice and solid with Wodan, Bluefire and Silver Star being the three main attractions. But I have seen and ridden faster and meaner attractions. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the Park. In fact, I bought a clubcard today and I plan to go a lot this year until it really becomes stale for a while^^
Anyhow, have a nice evening and thanks for the interesting watch. :)

I have to say, I was living in Stuttgart for almost a year and visited Europa Park about 6 times. I LOVE this park and hold it in high regards. I love the roller coasters, dark rides, food and entertainment but I love the theming most of all. I was fortunate enough to be there around Halloween so I got to see the park decorated for Halloween with thousands of pumpkins. I also got to go to Horror Nights, their version of Halloween Horror Nights. It was pretty cool and while I wasn't able to understand everything being said, it still made for a great time. I'm trying to plan a trip back to Germany and plan on visiting Europa Park again. It's amazing!!! No,not quite Disneyish but it has a feel for its own.

Great review! You're 100% spot on. My wife and I visited Europa Park 2 years ago when we saw it on a 10 day Bavarian rental car trip during Halloween and loved it. We found it much better themed and enjoyable than Disneyland Californian and Disneyland Paris. We loved it so much that we're going again for Easter this year during our 2 week Europe vacation. I do like the fact it's not well known outside of Europe because it can stay less crowded (hopefully). IIRC, I think Europa Park is larger than Disneyland California and Paris. You really do need to take the little train around to visit the different themed countries.

They won't. Silver Star's noise level was already at the limit for the local residents. They even had to install a shield at the first drop to shield Rust from noise and screams, and Europa-Park may only operate Silver Star until 8pm, even if the park is open longer.
Micheal Mack suggested that the next coaster would be an Xtreme Spinning Coaster, but that sounded like a very loose idea.

I love how their queues are made so that u're never bored when you are waiting even if it's a 1h30 queue. I went there with my family three weeks ago and oh my god what a great park. At first I was a bit puzzled that we bought 2-days tickets (cause I live in France and here the parks don't really require more than one day, yes even Disneyland) but I am so glad we went for two days. The first day was really really crowded cause it was a holiday in France and since the park is right next to the French border it was a huge day in terms of attendance. We had the chance to ride Silver Star twice but we didn't get to ride Blue Fire, CanCan Coaster and Atlantica SuperSplash that day, since the queues were over 90 minutes on those rides all day. On the second day though it was far less crowded, we got to ride Blue Fire twice, Silver Star twice (again) and Timbur and Euromir again. All in all it was an awesome weekend in what is one of my top parks in the world. Would do it again!

ALSO, as a hotel guest you get to enter an hour before the park opens to the normal folks ^^. Meaning you can basically ride your faf coaster a couple of times before the waiting begins. Best thing is, it's still growing. So more Roller Coasters might get added :). Enjoy your stay if you goo. For me it is the best park in the world.

The Europa Park was my first ever amusement park to go to. Since then I've went to many but not a single one was as good as the europa park. Having an annual ticket since like 5 years straight, going to the park for me personally is more a hobby than actually seeking to have thrilling ride expiriences. I love just to go there, take in the atmosphere, relax and look at the people having a fun time. But also visting a show or riding an attraction. Even now after 5 years it's never getting boring and I'm always looking forward to have an enjoyable day at the Europa Park!

When I was little we would go to Europa Park every year. I love it so much and I have yet to find another theme park that comes close to it. I went to Europa Park before Euro Disney and that was the reason why I was kinda disappointed by Disneyland.

I grew up with Europa Park, Phantasialand, and all these other Entertainment-Parks in Germany.
The Europa Park is the best of all, i was there like 15 times in my life (its 700km away, im from Germany, its like 120-150km to Phantasialand). Now its been a long break for like 8 years, i really should go there soon, again!😍 (im 30)
    Great Videofootage btw!
I'd love to ride your american rollercoasters, but even a holiday there would be too high-prizy for me :D

They have announced that there will be a new themed area with a new rollercoaster. When they first mentioned it they said it would open in 2021 but we don't know whether the fire at piraten in batavia moved that or not. For a type of coaster I don't think we'll see a big dipper or an extreme spinning coaster since these are both low capacity rides (at least for Europa Park). When you're thinking of a new ride for this park capacity has to be 1500 persons per hour or higher to be able to fit in.

I loved Europa park, it was beautiful and I really enjoyed most of the rides. The only thing I regret a little bit is that I stayed for a second day. We stayed at the camping grounds which is great by the way! It has an amazingly cosy feel for such a big place, we were able to swim and enjoy many other things. However Europa park is quite an intens park, the theming is really beautiful but it's a lot. After already being there for a full day and having a lack of sleep, it was hard to find some places to have a quiet rest, but that could also be because we went during the summer holidays. So I definitely have no regrets about going, but make sure you have enough energy for a second day. It is a lot of walking and a lot of stimulation.

Really nice review. I guess Europa Park is such an amazing place to be. The theming looks so nice and due to the Owner, they operate there coaster so efficient. I hate seeing bad operations.
I just don't get the fight between "enthusiasts" who argue which Park (in Germany/Europe/ World) is the absolute best. All Parks got something nice and the best park is the one you are in right now, enjoy the place you are at. Being a coaster enthusiast means that you enjoy those parks and i am sure you can enjoy the europa park just by watching and not riding.

I'm curious how you compare it to the World Showcase at EPCOT (besides the lack of coasters) as well as Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Those seem like the most straight forward US parks to compare it to. Also, how does the theming compare to Efteling?

    • @CoasterStudios

Zac G I have never actually been to Epcot. I don't have any plans to go until Guardians opens.

    • @zacg_
      @zacg_ 6 років тому +2

@@CoasterStudios given your focus on coasters and thrills, I have a feeling you won't care much for EPCOT. And frankly, almost everything they have done to the park in the last 20 years has undone the things that made it unique and cool. So even with Guardians, I don't think you'll find it very interesting. The World Showcase is still mostly cool but they are slowly ruining it too. I personally happen to love EPCOT but more for what it was in the 90s than what it is now.
As for Busch Gardens Williamsburg, there's obviously nothing I can say about that park that you don't already know. In my opinion, it is probably the most well rounded theme park in the country in terms of balancing theming, entertainment, food, lands, rides and coasters. Certainly they don't have a coaster line up that puts them in the top 10 but the overall package is amazing.

I have never understood the hype for Europa Park!
Yes, it's very pretty, had great food, and amazing operations..... but for me, the rides were so lacklustre! Its like they went for quantity over quality. Arthur is the only ride there that really stood out to me. Most of the coasters were average, and the dark rides were of a poor quality too (except Arthur).
For me it's not even the best park in Germany, let alone the world!
