Starting Raised Garden Beds On A Budget

- Happy Valentines Day! @CaptainKleeman and I are spending some quality time together building the raised garden bed of my dreams. We purchased some cypress from our local mill and are cutting them down to size to make 4x8x2 feet beds. We ended up spending .36 a square board so we will see if we can make it for under $50 a bed! Step one is complete. Next video we will discuss how much we spend and begin construction of the beds.

you could use almost all of them boards if you had the table saw that captian wont call me for its free bt i dont know where to send it to

Nice project Chelsea. Those are pretty deep boxes, the ones I see around me are only about a foot tall. Like you said it's going to be fun filling them up.
Love the raise beds tell Captain claim and keep up the good work but you always need a good supervisor and make sure things go the right way and you the school teacher are the right supervisor tell them also in a spare time to make some wooden sawhorses so you’re not bending over all the time he needs to make you a bench countertop height so you can sort all your plants and have some place to work on while you’re out there also and scrounging find an old umbrella and make an umbrella stand next to it so you’re not the sun keep up the great work glad to see you’re finally posting again samuel bacon

You could got the timber cut ready to build !!! I suspect Mike was happy to assist you, the grin and possibly the "yes dear" thought gave it away, but you can't be expected to do everything yourself 🤣
Will be a good size garden once you get the fence up. And yes, the beds will take some filling, that is what the 755 is for !!! Don't forget to mix in some good compost material too !!!
You and the Captain make a brilliant couple / team, you just get on with it. Watched the Captain getting that timber, ideal for what you need.
The size is much the same as mine. I now have fifteen, but the plot is a wedge shape. Still not enough to grow everything but I aim to trysomething different each year.
Raised beds are so much nicer. Easier on the back

Mike sent me over here to see your raised garden beds. I'm about to build my second one for this year. I'll be using cinder blocks as I had a bunch of them left on the property by the last owner. We learned a lot last year and hope to have a better crop this year. Thanks!
