Watching. Airwolf has brought me some great memories of my mother and brother when Airwolf was on. We so enjoyed the show. Thank you so much for those fond memories and a great show. And most of all seeing Jan again. I miss him and my family so very much.
Great video. You did s great job showing Hawke's pain from the episode. I felt so bad for him, being forced to kill not only his war friend, but here's s brother's very close friend. JMV was wonderful at showing us Hawke's vulnerability with just his eyes.
Thank you 🙂 There were always a lot of mixed emotions conveyed through those eyes, which is what I tried to put across in this video. I'm glad it worked!
This video is awesome. But it is also gut-wrenching. I felt so bad for String in this episode and your video was even more emotional than the episode, in my opinion. I almost cried watching the adf pod deploy and String hitting the button, the look on his face is just heartbreaking. Great job!
Thank you so much! 🙂 It's the first time i've just used footage from a single episode to make one of my 'stories', so this was a first in that respect. I also think the music adds its own air of dramatic effect.
Still reeling here at my desk. Strings struggle to destroy the enemy chopper mirrored his own struggle with alcohol. When he activated 'turbos', it was like he activated the turbo on my emotions and I broke down.
@@mroctober3657Never knew that. How sad. I know first hand that battle. In his position, it must have been even harder. Shame he never found a reason to curb his enthusiasm for the booze. What an amazing show that was for me as a kid. 😎
This episode always reminded me it’s not the machine. It also has to have a great operator. Fancy that this helicopter was it couldn’t outperform Airwolf, Stringfellow and Dom. Thanks for the upload.
As many may have realised by now, it was never about the machine for me. It was always about Hawke and the constant battle with his emotions and adversity that interested me (plus he happened to be played by JMV, of course!!), and that was what I was hoping to convey here. Thank you and i'm pleased you enjoyed it 😊
Finally got around to watching this ... great stuff! Love it, especially the way you intertwined the dog fight scenes with the flashbacks. Awesome music too!
Thanks very much 😊 I thought I would try and add a little raw emotion to this video with what was possibly one of the best executed battle scenes in the entire series! I’m pleased you enjoyed the outcome 🙂 The music is by David Chappell and is called ‘Heroes Never Die’, which seemed quite appropriate…
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately the original Airwolf music gets taken down straight away due to copyright, so that’s when I have to get a little creative using other suitable music 🙂
Sad when you think the helicopter the dressed up as airwolf was sold to some emergency service in Europe and while transporting a person to the hospital it crashed killing all on board.
I mentioned this when people ask what was airwolfs closed rival I say hx1 then redwolf the the scorpion and it was in my opinion only the pilots that made the difference
What I didn't like about that episode was that the opposing helicopter was more loaded in weapons than Airwolf but didn't have rear jet engines to give it much speed, yet in this dogfight, Airwolf was being tailed by a slow chopper. Doesnt make sense.
Hx1 was faster than airwolf and had better weapons that said once dom knew how to remove airwolf limiter which was to Mach 1.5 airwolf could achieve Mach 2 faster than hx1 in this dog fight it’s was down to pilot skill hawke had flown airwolf years and she also had combat memory mace only flew hx1 maybe 3 times before the dog fight so didn’t know what she was capable of
Thank you so much! 😊 I have always loved David Chappell's music and 'Heroes Never Die' has to be my favourite. I'd been wanting to use it for a while and this 'story' just seemed to fit the bill! 🙂
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 🙂 The music is 'Heroes Never Die' by David Chappell, a piece of music i'd been thinking of using for a while, which somehow just fitted with my intentions for this video.
I dig the music, but I really gotta say that it sounds like a combination between Jon Hammers-crockets theme and the Terminator theme. But I do like it.
Season 4 was a disaster jan micheal vincent had drinking problems and the while cast were replaced once he left the others could not be bothered to work his replacement
What I love about Airwolf was it had real aircraft and real stunts. Today's TV and even movies are just filled with CGI. The CGI looks nice but have no thrill in them.
I LOVED Airwolf as a kid. What a great TV show. But the idea of an attack chopper like that, or a chopper duel, is completely absurd. You want to take out a badass helo? Use almost any fixed wing fighter. Easy.
What always got me. They kept forgetting Airwolf only had one weakness. Her fuel inlet and she could take a direct missile hit. The original builder showed all that in movie.
Fun show, but the costs per episode was just to high to keep it going. Just a little bit MORE budget and they'd end up making full budget Hollywood movies each week. Just look at the scene were both aircraft are in the air and think about the cost per hour to operate both of those machines. Add in crew cots, the lighting, sound, editing, etc etc. $$ Then there was JMV's problems. It wasn't worth it. Pushing the show down to USA network and reusing clips from the original production was about the only thing affordable enough to keep Airwolf on the air. Miss this show. It had buckets of cool. Ty for the vid. Brought back memories.
You're welcome, and thank you for watching! 🙂 I believe the USA Network mainly took on Airwolf for syndication purposes, as there simply weren't enough episodes in the first three seasons to ensure this would happen. Coupled with the fact of ever rising costs and the decline in viewers watching all-action series in the mid-80s, Airwolf, like many other series (Knight Rider, The A Team), simply vanished, and by the end of the 80s there would be nothing left...😕
Great work. They remake even some scrappy old shows/movies, that are not worthy, as if they dont remake Airwolf. if it was the only way it can be done Im willing to even accept a full feminist version, were its men needing rescue from the female Airworf team :)

Last time I saw Airwolf was in the 80s.
I thought I've seen every episode. Believe it or not, this is the first time I saw this one.
The edit from this video was taken from the season 2 episode 'HX-1'.
Hope that helps?
Stringfellow skill as a pilot was a asset.
Yes, being skilled at piloting is more useful than being unskilled at piloting.

🎉❤ I remember it well. ❤🎉
had to turn sound off and hmm the right tune over.
String, it was OK to slap Archangel when he said another chopper was better than the Lady. When a man insults your girl like that, he insults you.
The HX-1 was an Itallian Agusta A-109 Hirundo.
Looked like a Sikorsky S-76C to me…I flew them for 7 years!
cut the music n lets listen to the script as it happened!!!!!
It's almost as if he knows he really blew someone up in smoke... Which lead to his drinking problem

Hawke has to put all his emotions away and do the unthinkable kill his former friend. By the way the pilot of HX-1 played Officer Danko on the Rookies
Yes, Sam Melville (who played Mace, the pilot of HX 1) also starred in a movie in 1978 with JMV called Big Wednesday 🙂
Season 4 was a disaster with not so good cast
The lady always had it bt it's also down to the pilot in the cockpit 😊👍

Nice music. Could have done without it though in favor of actual clip audio for the most part.
