These streams are more helpful than vids from the most known art youtubers. Your explanations are easy to understand, and the way you are doing gesture drawings is much easier to learn somehow than pretty hectic looking gesture drawings from many other youtubers. For a long time I couldn't draw them decently, after an hour of one of your streams I got so much better at them that it's almost depressing that I didn't see your streams earlier. Thank you for helping me so much :D
Same I've just found his channel today 😭
I mean actual art instruction does pretty poorly on youtube, its mostly just memeing about top ten ways to become a pro artist in 2 days kind of shitty waste of time videos that beginners fall for.
You are welcome! thats my main goal to teach what I know, I feel many artists here don't know well the concepts well or they just spread it into tiny drops to keep producing video content. XD
@@darylbiegtrucke4456 I know it is a shame! but that's the game to play, Clickbait Tittles!
How to not agree.
Most artist don’t really want to show there secrets mainly because they dont wanna waste there time teaching someone who probably doesn’t care or wants to put the work in. So be VERY glad that this artist wanted to go out his way and teach us what he had been or had taught himself, because I am very much glad.
Well there are no SECRETS. it is more a case of each artist develop their own way to solve this puzzle. If you look REIQ way to do it and comapre to how Kopinsky do it... it is COMPLETELY different. Neither are wrong... each one developed their own path.
Love being able to see the actual model as you show us your process! Super helpful! Thanks 🙏!
Man, you should do more of these! As sad as it might sound, It's so much easier getting this practice in when you feel like you're not doing it alone.
yeah i get you!! and its not sad
Obrigado! Its a real pleasure drawing along with you!
I can't express how grateful I am for you Reiq. Your an encouraging teacher and it always feels like you're in the same room as me, which stops my self-deprication. ありがとうございます先生!
Self deprication, imposter syndrome and not feeling like your work will ever be good enough has stopped many artists. Don't give in to the negative voices. You gotta stay confident in your work and in your drawings. It will carry you far.
@@ArtrichStudio Thank you for the encouraging words, I agree wholeheartedly. I'm making it a goal of mine to put fun first whenever I sit down to draw. I'm already drawing more because of this approach 😁
Every couple of weeks I follow along for 5-10mins before I start on my own. Really helps with my confidence.
Me too, it actually helps get me in the zone and grind on my own work.
Excellent! Helpful to understand how we work in terms of warming and feeling the drawing! Thank you very much for sharing your point of view through your experience, I can see myself of one of those details you mentioned, great advice!
I've been struggling with gesture for a while and this opened my eyes in a lot of ways. Extremely helpful stream REIQ, thank you. If I ever encounter someone who is struggling as I was I'll definitely be directing them to this video.
Your work is amazing, i'm improving realy fast after seeing your videos and workshops THANKS from Brazil :D !!!
Would you be able to do a Drawing Fundamentals video? Maybe list a few specific exercises that you recommend for practice. Love your videos.

The best for figure drawing !
It's always a joy to see your figure drawings, but these lines at 1:04:02 are perfect, you captured the shapes with just a simple yet beautiful stroke.
missed the stream but i will thoroughly enjoy learning from it tomorrow. Thank you so much as always!
Have fun!
im studying Mike Mattesi, Karl Gnass and the one thing I'm understanding is the gesture and force.
Keep being awesome
Please make more of this.
This video helped SO MUCH, I never have been good at drawing anatomy cause I always overthink and constantly ponder on one part. This really pushed me to just draw and trust the process. By the end I dunno it was like magic. All your advice really just clicked so unbelievably strongly in my head rahh idk ty for the existence of this
Thanks, now i know how to start practice drawing.

Please do videos on character concepts. Process of making character concepts from mood board, how to adapt features from mood board and compile it into sketching. Love from India.
All right, new day new stream waiting to be watched :) I am spending upcoming hours drawing with Reiq!!
A follow up comment, after going through the session. Reiq - thank you very much for the tips and advices in form o a little and light summary. Also, going through and explaining why and how you approach the pose/figure drawing - priceless. Did not expect any of it; highly appreciate it! Can’t wait for the next ones!!
Glad you like it! I'll be expanding on that list as I go! thanks for watching!
Too good
"This is not about the final outcome, but what you have learned from it." Salud para eso!!!! no mas parabras mejor decir!!! Los informaccion este mui grande y importante!!!! que estupendo; muchos gracius, Profe!
Man, its clear that you used google translate. Please dont.
@@tejeraillustrator3810 Actually i didnt, mostly self taught. Apparently you know what i'm saying enough to critique it, but if you know better, then by all means correct it.
@@mrj3050 Well, you clearly attempted to translate "cheers to that!", but that phrase doesnt make sense in spanish. The rest is translated literally, word by word. That is why I assumed you used google maps. You cant make a direct translation of words into another language, the way phrases are built is different depending on the language.
he: "welcome to" me: "the mato"
- jokes from Brazil lol
Hi this was really amazing as always but I just had one question. Sometimes I get frustrated with my art if I take a little break. For a few days sometimes I even seem to have trouble drawing figures or anatomy I did the last time I was wondering if you had any tips for getting out of that funk.
Oi leomk amooo seus videooosssss
good stuff
good work
Hi, I don't speak English but I really liked your video and it helped me in anatomy. thanks 😁
Are you going to make more of this? This is really helpful for me. Thank you so much.

good practic
Hei Reiq, thank you so much for these! my art has improved a lot since i started watching your tutorials and taking my own spin based on what you've been teaching.
One thing i still struggle with is exaggerating body parts on my figures. I struggle to draw bigger butts, thicker legs or different sized bodies from the reference i use. What should I do to improve this apsect of my work?
Also draw references with those body types, then when you use other references you'll be able to imagine it. Eventually.
Keep it up (y), mate.
Thanks!!! :)
I'm doing great!
🌸🌸🌸
you are amazing skill drawing
Thank you so much 😀
question, how often should one do pose practices , everyday i assume
I miss your life drawing sessions, my dude. :(
Some people draw many boxes at the beginning. That never works for me. I like this
Reiq please make a tutorial about forshortening
Leeoooo me notaaa amo seu canauu
i wish all artist that want to draw poses just saw the first minutes of this video...
Wiii figure drawing video 😊
Wiiiiii!
I am totally bricked up right now
NAHHH
Where is Rei drawing? i need the original to study the pose - i didnt see anything like this - so good (on a preview)
Thanks for the love stream...
Thanks to you for watching!
The biggest question-
Where to get good quality high definition pictures of different poses?
58:00 I'll start here tomorrow:)
Life drawing is a skill I valued while doing it, but I've lost most of it due to not practicing over the years. Just hearing you use the same terms reminds me that I still have the skill...I just need more practice. Got this video saved, going to get a coffee into me, and then start practicing again.
It is really awesome and has tons of information :) hope you liked it as well as I did :)
Thats the energy we need! Happy drawing!!!!
Hi Reiq, What App are you using to control your timed reference material on the left of your screen, and how do you manually set the time to move onto the next image as I'd really like to be able to set this up for practicing quick sketches?
it's in the video description
can u make one hand and fingers drawing tutorial
¿Que programa usas para dibujar REIQ?
At first it took too long for you to start actually drawing. I never seen and heard your approach before. So, your descriptions were odd and foreign to me.
On e you started drawing and explaining your approach it made more sense.
8ts a different approach, though watching it to a while and lett8ngcit sink in, it's pretty neat ideal. Something to defiantly think of and try.
I am use to starting with the head, then spine to legs, arms, the bod the cheat and hip section.
From there is my frame for all else to add, draw, and grow mire and mire detail.
I think in some ways, I really like your approach better.
Thank you for sharing.
hello i love ur video tutorials, can u make video tutorial about light and shadow on human bodys when u have time, thank u.
Great suggestion!
Just quit my job last week to get my youtube channel back up and running, along with focusing hard on improving my art. One goal is to be featured or collab with you some day :)
Hi Reiq, Sorry just saw the Gesture Drawing app in the 'Show More' tab. Can this App be used directly on an iPad so I can split screen and use Procreate along side it or is it just for Mac desktop computers?
Hi, thank you so much for this life drawing. Just a information, the link for Pose Referenece is dead
What program is he using? And the brushes! I need to know
ur confused, there's nothing to do w the brushes. Even w a freeware like Medibang you can achieve such results (or paper)
What was the software you were using before this new gesture drawing one?
I was using OBS Slideshow feature.
1:49 stream starts
Hey, Do you possibly have any brushes for Clip Studio Paint?
You can import .abr files directly into clip! So if you ever purchase or own any of Reiqs brushes from his website, you can just plop those into clip
7:05 13:20
Does anyone know the name of the music? Exactly what I'm looking for for drawing etc.
Does anyone know of a similar artist who does livestreams of this kind? Its relaxing to listen to and also motivating
the drawing database, it’s a reference on youtube, also comic style keshart.
Reiq does something similar
@@Pantocratore I will check that out, thanks
tinha muito brasileiro heheehe
btw. does anyone have the link for the app?
added the link into the description!
Does anyone know how he manages to draw on photoshop fullscreen while looking the refference app ? Whenever i click on photoshop he gesture app automatically close.
Could you explain more about how to identify the eye level in the pic?? Thanks so much
