I love how you've done the hair the texture is just beautiful.... Also I would love to just see another video of you playing with your poems about you paints...... (The colors looked so pretty)
Kitten tips: you can get a special bowl that forces the cat to both excercise and eat slow. It can't just gulp down all the food at once lol. Just look up slow feeder bowls on Google for pets! The positive is that it's fun for the kitten too!
Lovely work as always!! Such a cute kitten too oh my gosh! One of mine has a similar issue with bolting her food, even as an adult. I bought raised (so they eat in a better position for food to go down) slow-feeder bowls and they have really helped and the carpet is now not quite so at risk. Would definitely recommend checking something like that out! I also split their meals into two smaller portions, half an hour apart, to give them a bit of breathing room. Good luck to you and your carpets!
I like how this pic turned out, although it looked like you fought with the color fade a lot, just like you said. I'm a little on the fence about the Disney Princess eyes you gave her, but the end result works. Your recommendation level zig zagged a lot for this set. I think based on where your recommendation level ended up, I would pony up for the ten bucks pricier set you mentioned with more pre-mixed vibrant colors.
Tip on how to slow your cat down in eating... just play with her and let her hunt for her food, one kibble at a time. Just throw one and let her find and eat it, then throw another. A bit time consuming...but fun. And maybe after a few throws, give her a few at the same time and see how it goes? Love your work! And how you did her hair...OMG...I want to be able to do that...will rewind a few times to get some pointers. Thank you for sharing!
You can slow their eating down with a puzzle ball or other puzzles, or you make their meals smaller and more often! My cat currently has a stomach issue and kept throwing up, and I went from 3 meals a day to 6 smaller meals a day, and she hasn't thrown up since.
ig: liv.ing.hell i would love to see a video of you trying to paint neon lighting around a subject, i feel like thats a pretty interesting challenge to do, :) !!
To be fair, a few of the negatives you mentioned - like the granulation and the pale colors/color changing - they’re likely more a problem with the paper you are using than the paints. I typically use Daniel Smith watercolors which are professional grade paints and when I use them on canson paper I have the same problems. Sometimes that’s desirable but when I see people use the Gansai tambi paints on higher quality paints they don’t experience those issues as much. Sorry if you mentioned that in the video and I missed it, but I wanted to comment it just in case anyone is wondering!
I appreciate this follow up, I’ve tried hard to enjoy the gansai tambi paints since you spoke so highly of them in the past but I don’t like the way they behave!
For your kitten you can try special feeders. I don't need one for my cat because he eats small portions by himself, but I have seen other people use it! It also stimulates your cat because she has to work a bit more to get her food. My friends use the Cat-it Senses Food Tree and the Cat-it Senses Food Digger. I hope that helps! :)
a tip that i've seen a while back to make cats eat slower or in smaller portions is to put their food into paper egg box, and put a lil bit into each part
Tip for getting your kitten to eat slower would be to get the food toys that they have to knock to get food out. If you don't want to buy anything, you can put a ball in the food bowl . Something large enough to make her not want to knock it out of the bowl and play with it, but not so large that her face can't get to the food. Good luck!
Beautiful art, and informative video to boot! Thank you for sharing. Suggestion for the kitten, you can put a bunch of little "obstructions" in the bowl like marbles or stones or wooden blocks, anything too big for your cat to swallow and that isn't toxic; she will have to eat around the objects which will slow her down. It helps if theyre also heavy so they can't be pushed aside easily.
BelindaMax. Lol! First, portraits! The Umbrella Academy painting of Five was so awesome!! I’d love to see simple landscapes or simple animal faces...portraits, sort of. ❤️
Puzzle feeders are great for slowing down a cat's eating. ^^ Also consider getting a timed feeder where you can adjust the amount of food Sybil gets at any one time.
I have found the Gansai paints are NOT a western style paint and work best on a rice paper or 100% cotton/rag papers. I think you did a very sweet portrait! I have been captivated by DaVinci watercolor paints. They are a small family owned company here in California and they are growing! Denise Soden curated an Earth Friendly set for the company and they are so worth it! I have replaced most of my other Paints, Mijello being one of the other higher priced choices I have made in the recent past. You can get smaller sample or mixing sets from DaVinci too! I like making my own color choices and put them on plain porcelain plates for my palette! @mjpete27 is my Insta, I have been following you for quite some time already. I would really like to see more watercolor paintings, have you tried a seascape recently? Maybe a Grand Canyon panorama ? See you next time!
Regarding Syble throwing up: One of our foster kittens has been throwing up and we think it is because he is eating too fast. We have been spreading his wet food out along the bottom of his bowl when he eats. The idea is that it will slow him down a little because the food isn't just in a heap in the bowl. It seems to be working so far.
Try a foraging mat for the kitty. It will force her to eat slower and give her a chance to feel full before she over eats. I have this set, I love it for on the go, I use it along with a couple of other small palettes and not really ever alone. Eventually I'll have my Daniel Smith collection grown to a point that I can replace this palette and/or pass it on to my kiddo who is an aspiring artist. My insta is @madpaintingandart Oh, and I just enjoy painting videos where you just chat at us about a topic or about what inspired the painting, I also enjoy review vids because they help me decide what supplies to try next.
Watching in 2024. The art community now has affordable 100% cotton WC paper & sketchbooks from Academy/Boahong. I'm loving my budget sketchbooks with my Boku-Undo E Sumi paints. I use Grumbacher WC sketchbook, spiral bound, and it's comparable to Fabriano per reviews.
ig: winged_liner i would love to see you tackle subjects that are out of your comfort zone (for me that's fantasy, how do i get a realistic ref for a phoenix lol)
I did a Phoenix watercolor painting awhile ago and I looked up a bunch of different birds till I found one that was close to what I wanted my Phoenix to look like. I settled on a ornate hawk eagle, I then exaggerated some features like the head feathers and neck. That’s my advice for fantasy creatures, exploring a bunch of more unusual animals and then exaggerating some of the features (or mashing up 2 different animals). Hope that helps✌️
Ig: envlslon I would love to see an updated art supplies haul or, since you have already drawn your dream, you could try drawing a nightmare this time or something that characterises you.

I’d love to know how you decide what to focus on. Loved Inktober because it gave me defined parameters ....now I’m back to dithering because I want to do it all!
Damn! There is so much great stuff in this video - the Queen you are painting, the painting you did earlier but don’t really like (she looks JUST like my sister btw) a kitten 🐈⬛ AND a giveaway!!! Too bad I just discovered your channel 🥲

I would love to see a portrait but with more ethereal/unnatural skintones such as blues and purples! I think that would be really cool with your style
@aliveriy.a.illustrations I would love to see you talk about your shop and how you manage your store. Question examples: did you invest in label makers? Do you outsource your prints or stickers etc.

Hi Sara!! I would love to see you do a video where you experiment with an “unconventional” media, perhaps using tea or coffee as watercolours I think that would be super cool!!
