In my opinion, the Rottweiler is the most beautiful and magnificent breed there is. I must say that I'm biased, because I've had four in my life. It's the only kind of dog that I've ever had. The journey that I shared with each of them what is a Divine gift from God. I took care of them in a way that very few people do. I fed them better then I fed myself. The last two I've had where rescues and I'm retired so I got to spend 98% of my time with them. I'm so grateful for each and every one of them as they help to shape the sensitive and gentle man that I am today. I thank God for them every day because they were my real true life guardian angels. I just lost my last one on November 9th, 2020 To cancer. It's been about 3 months and I haven't made it through a day yet without crying my heart out. His name was Titan and he was a 120 lb lovebug if you know what I mean. My heart is broken and my life feels out of balance. He had a profound effect on my life as the other three that preceded him did as well. He will probably be my last one because of my age and my underlying health conditions I probably will not get another one. I plan on going to the Rottweiler rescue where I got Titan from and volunteering to help with the dogs that are there. That will be my way of giving back as much as possible to This Magnificent and beautiful breed.🙏💔🐶
Thank you so much for your comment. Rottweilers are the best. We also lost one of our Rottweilers to cancer once, her name was Aska. She was wild. So nice to hear that you want to volunteer to help with Rottweiler Rescue. Greetings from Germany, Thomas
Hi Thomas. Thank you for responding to the comment I left on your awesome video about our favorite dog breed. It sounds to me like both of us are extreme Rottweiler lovers. I'm still struggling with the loss of my beloved tighten. I miss him so much and he will live forever in my heart and soul. I'm so grateful for all the years of wonderful and loving memories I have of us together. I look forward to the springtime when I will be going to the Rottweiler rescue where I got Titan and begin to volunteer and work with these beautiful and magnificent dogs. That is my way of giving back to them as much as possible. God bless you brother. Greetings from Northern California,USA. John 🙏💔🐶
I feel your words mate and couldn’t agree more with what you said .....I lost my boy Bj 2 weeks ago to bone cancer ....had to put him to sleep and my heart is still heavy ....he was my second my first bitch lived to near 12 and went on her own and he was 10 ....no dog comes close for me ......special special dogs 🙏🏻
I lost my boy a few months ago. He was my 1st dog I got him when I was 22, and he lived to nearly 12. He was a gentle giant he lived before I had 2 children adapted to them and loved them as much as I do. Never once bared his teeth and was my best friend.
Along with the Cane Corso, English Mastiff and Neapolitan Mastiff, I think the Rottweiler is one of the closest descendants to the Molossus, the grandaddy of all mastiff breeds.
Most beautiful kind dedicated animals willing to put there life's on the line for there owners , I will have this breed till they say I die ,I feed them better then I eat ,raw food, organs ect and in return they give me all the love in the world , best breed in the world
The original European mastiff was bred by the ancient Britons. These dogs are talked about by Julius Caesar and are probably the origins of the mastiffs used by the Romans in Europe. Many of our modern breeds are descendants of these dogs, but for some reason everybody only ever talks about Rottweilers and cane Corso‘s.
I really liked The Ultimate Rottweiler Book by Andrew H. Brace. l read that in the 90s and there were a lot of pictures (including historic photos) in the book.
This is misinformation. The breed’s history doesn’t go back to Roman Empire but like all mastiff type breeds have descendants going back to Roman Empire but The Rottweiler itself is a 1900 bred dog. Have you any articles on a Black & Tan Molosser ?
They're direct descendants of dogs from the Roman Empire so the information is accurate. I don't see any missing information. Did the breed exist as it does now then? No of course not. It was through a lot of selective breeding over the years and particularly in the town of Rottweil that we ended up with the modern specimen

This video is hard to find. I got it through suggested vids
Thak you for sharing this
I don't see the Rottweiler as a old breed. What we called Rottweiler today was created at beginning of 20th century.
Are the Belgian Draft Dog and Sennenhund and old Rottweiler related?
wow ,i just looked up the belgiun dog , funny the romans were there too , but they nearly extinct , could be close relation to rotty
Their direct descendants from dogs from the Roman Empire. So yeah they're a pretty old breed
@@Ana-ok4vzFunny you should say that. The Greater Swiss Mountain Dog looks very very similar to the Rottweiler.

The Roman’s brought cane corsos to Britain and bred them with the mastiffs.
Anyone know good books about Rottweilers history that include pictures of old school Rottweilers
I really liked The Ultimate Rottweiler Book by Andrew H. Brace. l read that in the 90s and there were a lot of pictures (including historic photos) in the book.
