This is the best demo yet... Super creative uses of the insane feature set. I’ve spent the last seven months touring without my Thermae, but I miss it dearly. Gonna have to pick up a switcher soon...
Thanks a lot, Rob! What kind of music are you doing? Dude… You must put it back in your pedalboard! It can expand your possibilities quite a lot to work with it!
@@SefLemelinOfficial It's on one board with one band, but I've been doing lots of solo dates with a very tiny fly rig. Empress ZOIA covers a lot of ground, but Thermae is magic... I will probably have to make a second small board that I can have a few more pedals, and the Thermae is one of the ones on that little board!
@@RobFlaxMusic Thanks for sharing man! That’s the kind of pedal that pushes me to explore new territories! The Empress ZOIA is a crazy beast as well, you enjoy working with it? I’ll use the Thermae and MOOD from Chase Bliss on our European tour!
@@SefLemelinOfficial ZOIA is incredible, yes! You can even control Chase Bliss pedals with the ZOIA, creating really complex Midi stuff on the pedal to control other pedals... But I'm not there yet haha.
Sef Lemelin I’ve had it for a month now - I’ve been for the longest time a fingerstyle player - everything from classical to contemporary stuff - but just recently got into pedals - love the way a great pedal can inspire you to play in a new way
Hey Thomas! That's freakin cool! I did some mods on it! I changed the bridge pick up for a Curtis Novak JM-FAT and I changed the bridge for a Mastery Bridge!
Joel always comes to the Festivale Sonore in September at UQAM, along with the "Ottawa Pedal Mafia" (Guillaume Fairfield, Steve Bragg, Tim Larwill, myself), Scott "knobs" Harper, and a number of other Canadian pedal makers. I hope we can meet at the next one. VERY nice demo. We need more showing the use of the dipswitches.
Thanks a lot Mark! There are so many possibilities with this pedal! This kind of “internal expression pedal” is a brilliant concept and the MIDI capabilities are offering me everything I need to work live with it!
This is why the ES-8 causes your rig to go Super Saiyan. If you know how to use it, it can unlock so much potential in your other pedals. There are smaller and cheaper ways to accomplish what he was doing as well, but the ES-8 is an incredible switcher as well and nothing matches its incredible feature set.
Totally agree with you! With the kind of music I'm doing, I would not be able to manage all my effects without my ES-8! Do you have one? What kind of music do you play?
Is there a setting on the thermae that lets you use it like a regular pitch shifter? Like without delay? Like have the delay speed as fast as possible, no regen, and mix knob all the way up? Would that work? I'd totally buy it if so. Analog pitch shifters are hard to come by
Late answer , but the pitch shifting comes from modulating the delay time. So it's just a momentary pitch shift every time that happens. If you've ever played with the knobs on an analog delay, this basically allows you to do that instantaneously and rhythmically while hitting predetermined intervals. Although it's one of my favorite pedals that I own, I always thought that "pitch shifter" was a bit misguiding to those unfamiliar with the way that analog delays behave (me up until quite recently)
I’ve really liked this pedal since it came out but then I hear this demo and the one from pedalzone and I’m absolutely in love with it! So many options I didn’t know you could go to! Thanks for the killer demo Sef! Also, what’s that short scale bass you’re playing? Sounds/looks phenomenal in conjunction with the Tm Jazz!
Thanks a lot! The artist is Alex Henry Foster & The Long Shadows, it's the song Summertime Departures from the album Windows in the Sky: open.spotify.com/album/3jLB1LEluP22cZ3aqOuiuU
@@SefLemelinOfficial Question about the midi you're sending at 4:00: on the ES8, i assume you're sending CC# to the thermae, and youre toggling between two values? an octave up and octave down? i am very curious about that segment in the vid so any more details would be appreciated!
@@fjurden Yes, I’m sending CC# (CC# 93) to the Thermae to activate the pitch shifting manually. The CC# 93 is the Tap Switch of the Thermae. It’s easier for me to use a switch of my ES-8 instead of using the Thermea’s! The intervals used in this example are the -oct and +4th!
Salut Sef!
I've owned this pedal for quite some time now and these are settings I've never tried, and then some! Amazing.
When is SEF's audiobook series coming out? I could listen to him all day. Great demo!
Thanks a lot! All day… Dude… You'll get even crazier than me!!!
Always in love with Sef's french accent! 😍😍😍
Hope you're able to understand me!!!! ;)
Epic..... Rasputin presentation sets new level while pedal shines just as bright
First I was scared, then I was intrigued, and then... I was sold.

This video is just as inspiring as the the pedal itself. Thank you Chase Bliss Audio and thank you Sef!

Love my thermae 🌊

Sef's FB post got me here! Don't understand much about pedals but he makes me want to buy it anyways! :) Love you from the heart dude!!!
Love you too brother! I'm grateful to be able to live this sonic adventure with you!
This video was an absolute pleasure in every way
Thanks a lot, really appreciated!
Sef is too amazing at this.
i'm liking this before I finish
Thanks a lot Ben! I like doing this and I must admit that the Chase Bliss pedals are getting me crazy!
I have that same jazzmaster...such an incredible guitar.
Thomas Hudson what’s with the paint job? Is it legit worn in, or is it some kind of distressed finish?
That's the original finish...it's called transparent forest green. I believe it's a satin finish

How did you make everything slower in 8min 36sec? Such a awesome sound. Much love from Nuuk Greenland
Would love a reply here :-)
