    In our system we have a ghost alter who floats around the inner world and when they front its hard for them to walk and we have a walking stick for them just in case they need it

    Glad to see a video about this, we have an alter who is totally blind in system, an alter who is deaf in system, and an alter who has tourettes syndrome. They all translate when they come out. Mark (blind alter) has a cane, and uses the screen reader function on our phone, Matt (deaf) is re-learning asl, and Toby (tourettes) has had to figure out how to explain it to people and tries to avoid coming out unless its around people we trust.

      If an altar has Tourette’s, wouldn’t the system have it too, as Tourette’s is not a mental disorder, but a neurological disorder? /gen /lh

      @@kokoawolf7243 in our experience, some alters experience a disorder the body does have but much more heavily, and some alters don’t experience the disorder’s symptoms-
      I’m not sure if this is common, but it is our experience

    OMFG, this is so unbelievable. Like fictive, disabilities, split personalities even. This is all just so much, and I complain about bills and relationship problems. Like this is like mind blowingly eye opening.

      I know what ya mean by that. Before I knew I had DID it was all so much to realize was facts but when I discovered my Alters it was so much, and over time I've "developed" a deaf alter as well as a mute alter and a few selectively mute, as well as an alter who has chronic fatigue sydrome and one who has constant pain in his neck aswell as terrible anxiety. I never knew that was possible and my heart goes out to them. My mute Alters usually write things down or get others to talk for them, my CFS alter very rarely fronts, my anxious neck boi rarely fronts, and me and my dear alter are learning sign language 💓

    In our system we have a blind alter, and when she’s fronting or co fronting, we can’t see. She doesn’t front much because of this. 💕

    First of all, INTRO'S LOUD AAH-- Or maybe the main video is quiet idk it just surprised me. Second of all, rockin' hair 👌👌. Third of all we have someone who's either half- or fully blind and boy is that a trip. Sometimes one eye will go blind but whoever's co-con can see with the other one, sometimes we're like half-blind when we're co-con, like we can visually see an overlay of blind and not-blind, it's wild.

    I'm not a system, but I do have a physical disability so I can definitely relate to the frustration of not being able to be independent. I use humor to cope as well. If I couldn't laugh about certain things idk what I'd do.

    One of my alters has a prosthetic leg! I've seen it in the inner world and dreem shared their dreams about living with it. They don't ever front I don't think because they hate the awkwardness of having two legs out here, but I would love to hear any ideas about how to make them more comfortable fronting.

      @ollieishere4122 3 роки тому +1

      @@faithfulbright3829 because cerebral palsy is brain damage if affects the entire body no matter who is out. You can not get rid of it. But, if an alter comes out that is not disabled one of two things may happen. 1. They can’t move properly and they are in pain or have horrible balance. It also depends on the day, what kind of cp the body has, etc.
      2. They don’t even notice. I have an alter that doesn’t even limp. My boyfriend (he’s the one who realized we have did. He pieced it together. I’m working on talking to my therapist ) has seen this first hand. I would be falling over, my legs giving out, or something. And this alter would come to and walk around not even realizing the body can’t hold us up anymore.
      As for specific disabilities per alter, we also have that. We have an alter that is here to deal with disabilities actually. A few of us are allergic to fragrance. If happened because we were exposed and had asthma attacks so many times our body now fights it. We’ve been sent to the hospital many times and used epi pens quite a bit. We also have MFPS and it’s honestly a mess. Sorry o just woke up and I don’t have on my glasses lol. But yeah that alter deals with most of that. He comes out during those events and protects the others. I as the host go have them as well. Most of our alters actually don’t have asthma. I believe some don’t have the allergic reaction. I would prefer not to test that. Lol but yeah. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

      @@ollieishere4122 thanks for this. It is my understanding that the sound of my feet hitting the ground triggers some or all of the alters in a system I am friends with. Though I am definitely just one personality myself, I make an effort to walk more quietly around this friend. And I get what you mean. It doesn't go away, per se, but it can become a lot less noticeable. Hopefully someday I will be well-conditioned and not really aware of the effort that it takes for me personally. Being quieter is a good skill to have :) Do you have the spastic variety of CP, and do you notice big changes in the frequency of your spasticity between switches? How similar is a switch to spastic experience? Sometimes the system I have been talking about is also triggered by spasticity if I have it, and it I used to think they were just mirroring me when they switched because of it. It's a good thing they're super calm overall and that I am able to relax around them. Otherwise we would have a hard time.

      @@faithfulbright3829 I have spastic diplegia. I know some of my alters help my muscles relax a little. I get Botox shots. They help a lot. So my muscles do relax quite a bit with that. I also have chronic pain and I do know some of my alters don’t feel it like I do. Because of my boyfriend paying attention and telling me just enough. I can’t be in crowds at all because of something that happened, there have been times I couldn’t stand and my boyfriend has carried me then I switched and suddenly I’m speed walking out of a crowd. Apparently that happens a lot. My instagram is we_can_walk_this_world_alone
      we can talk more on there if you’d like. And I do notice some changes without being told. Sometimes my pain levels go down when someone is cocon with me. Or I can move way better. Sometimes I get more pain or a new spasm. I got in a bad situation and an alter took it. I had gotten nerve damage and only when that alter is out we feel it. Other then that I can use the hand pretty well. Hey

    This was an eye opening video. Thank you for sharing this info. I know I D.I.D. even though I have yet to be diagnosed? (That the correct term?) Anyways... I'm a tad bit concerned cause I'm already partially deaf in both ears. One more so than the other... Then the discovery of the D.I.D... And now what this video pointed out. It all feels too much! And I don't want to deal with this. It's not fun.

      We felt scared too, but for us our alters are happy being themselves and even though some of them can't walk they are still happy as individuals. Take it one step at a time, focus in on communication with your alters and things won't feel so scary.

    • @AcrylicAndAether
      @AcrylicAndAether  5 років тому +26

      Drew Harris Some alters have injuries or disabilities and it's something that occurs moreso in the brain than in the body. It's kind of like a somatic disorder, where it's the brain that's doing it rather than the legs. The brain can create barriers between alters, and alters have different ranges of ability. The trauma that one experienced could have had to do with some body parts, and then those body parts could be disabled in certain alters in response to said trauma
      Hope this helps!
