I didn't have the rapier and couldn't farm it at those two because I already killed them. I did it on a single spot, only with the ring and regular coins. It tool me between 15-20 tries, so it's still manageable.
i usually already have one from the cathedral of the deep mimic, cuz thats the first time you fight one and can buy undead hunter charms. with a gold coin and crystal sage rapier you will almost always get it in your first 5 charms. i dont see any point in waiting for it, because you will be missing milions of souls if you dont use it at every boss you fight
Well if you need farming early it is the right thing to do anyway: for décampée if I want to farm the flamberge, I start with 7 gold coins and farm the first mimic for they avarice symbol first...
I agree, it makes it much more efficient since you can check two mimics with one hunter charm, which is better resource-wise, since you only can hold 5, meaning that you get 10 chances with one visit.
yes...although I believe that it is a guaranteed drop on the last mimic in the NG cycle you are in...so I would suggest you double check that you actually killed all mimics first by comparing your count to the wiki.
nah but it does not take long to show at all (five trial usually) you can actually get it very early with the first mimic in lothric wall if you aim at a run farming on NG.
Hitting the mimic while it's sleeping while make it go back to its normal form allowing you try again, there's no need at all to use a homeward bone unless you run out of charms.

I'm so casul, I did this in high wall (tower on the wall bonfire)... xD this is much more efficient (2x more actually)

this is not guaranteed...you have to multiply attempts...usually around 10 times in Average
its a very low drop rate, i had to do it 19x before i got mine

Yes use a homeward bone or the sword fragment.

Filip Zdarilek no you have to come back to the bonfire to reset the drop either with homewarding or running back to bonfire or dying
