I came here to say this same thing. I hated this movie when I was done. Said I will hate it forever. Two days later I'm ready to write a thousand page essay about how great this movie is and the depths of mysteries. I can't stop thinking about it.
I think not a lot of people saw it for a reason. It seems like Hollywood critics downgraded it so it could be hidden because it exposes a lot of the dark shit that they know is real
Cannot point my finger on it, but this scene was mesmerizing! epic, this is why I got her. I woke up in the morning, after watch it ~3:00 AM, sleepy, and I run over to watch this scene again, something here is magical.
The guitar solo in this song “What’s the Frequency Kenneth?” was with Kurt Cobain’s guitar. There is another link to a later scene in the film that references his guitar. Excellent film by the way.
At first I hated this movie but then it started to cast this spell- the entire cast is really great and the director swung for the fences- plus there are so many different ways to interpret so many aspects of it all
I think the movie is just about a guy who is really into specific pop culture and women, but really just women through the lens of pop culture (Bride of Dracula, the playboy issue, the manic pixie dream girl Marilyn Monroe type who features change from reality to his fantasy), the reality of sex and dating is not interesting to him.
Ahh Thank You!! since i first seen this film, and i've seen it more than a handful of times now, I've been trying to find this song. I knew it years ago, but never by name. \like it was always just playing in the background sometime, somewhere. N i c e O n e !! cheers
She blows up the balloon with her mouth, but then after tying it to the string it starts to float as tho it were filled with helium. Im pretty sure thats intentional, not a mistake but im not sure if its a metaphor or just something to add to the surrealistic vine of the film.

It’s on purpose, as you know. This movie is, among other things, about the superficiality of Los Angeles, especially Hollywood. The fact she says « old music night » is much more revealing.
"It's silly wasting your energy on something that doesn't matter" says the Gen Z girl who outwardly values, above all else, social status and the reduction of intimacy into a string of sloppy hookups. Seems ironic. I wonder if D.R.M. hates millenials and zoomers as much as I do.
she's part of the conspiracy so for her part she is dissuading him from investigating more. believe it or not the film wasn't an excuse to hate on the youth "as much as you do"
i cannot get this movie out of my head. it's so captivating

100% agree !! 🤝❤️
I just love how this movie makes me feel. And REM's song shines perfectly in the context of the movie.
I loved this scene because it shows one of the only times Sam is free and happy and not absorbed by the mystery he's trying to solve

Me too.

They will. It might take time but I'm pretty sure this movie is destined to become cult

As in his actual guitar he played with or just a random Jagstang? Makes this song even more awesome if they played it with Kurt’s personal Jag
