I have seen Reb Beach live three times, in the last twenty years. I saw him forthe first time in Dokken back in 1999, the second time was in 2008 with Winger, and the third time was last year 2019 with Whitesnake. I also finally met him last year after the Whitesnake show and he was very cool and friendly. I told him one of my favorite recordings he ever done was Dokken's Erase The Slate album and he agreed. He also really enjoyed being in Dokken for that one tour. Reb Beach did a phenomenal job during his time in Dokken. In my opinion he is underrated. He is never talked with all the other guitar greats like Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and George Lynch. This show is also amazing. I remember getting the live album Live From The Sun back in 2000. I was very happy that Dokken did a live album with Reb Beach. Reb in my opinion did extreme justice to the Dokken songs.
I saw this show at Annie's in Cincinnati, and they killed it. It was nice to see Reb without the band of uncool, tutu-wearing homos (Winger). He deserved better.
Reb is cool and does nottry to be george like levin does... i respect reb he is a cool player... george is and always will be the gtr voice of dokken... many may come and many may go but lynch created the legacy and is the 80's guitar god
@intrsoul Had a Roadstar II 20 yrs ago. Pawned it, lost it, miss it. It was a cheap piece of wood those days. Then broke my fingers and can't play well anymore anyway. Anice guitar compared with my Gibson Epiphone that gathers dust with broken knobs.
I both agree and disagree. George is a ballsy player for sure but technique has always been a huge part of his style....and it has always been something that he works hard at. George taps a LOT, he has a more generic tapping style but it is still used a lot in his stuff. Reb taps out entire scales and melody lines...different intentions and results. Reb is one of the most melodic players in the guitar hero pantheon. Listen to some of his work on Wingers ballads and that becomes evident.
LOL sorry but this is wrong. He said he was massively influenced by George, when he heard Under Lock And Key. He even said that he was so inspired, so he wanted the "Hungry" (from winger debut) to be like The hunter.

Erase the Slate is criminally under appreciated. Dokken kills it with Reb, I wish they'd done more albums together.

Reb Beach is probably one of the most underrated guitarists out there.
I met Reb, back in the day, with WINGER. He was nice. I also saw him, when he played in Whitesnake. Talk about how he can burn!!!!
isn't he lovely huh .. that talented Mr Beach !
@melodicrockrules5150 yeah, on the studio dokken releases that put george on the map back in the day. Not so much in 2010.
Agreed!!!
that riff is dumbass hard to play and they play it really fucking fast at the end

@melodicrockrules5150 Just apples & oranges - both equally talented but with different styles.

I wonder how reb beach got into dokken. reb beach is great.
reb fuckin rocks i thought this was a great lineup!!!
Is there , ANOTHER? ..
No it was just a tag. Some people never realized Reb was even in Dokken.
Is he playing an old Ibanez Roadstar?! The pickguard and body are wrong, but that's definitely an old Roadstar headstock and Edge trem. Discuss;-)

Reb is better than lynch but the real guitarist of dokken is lynch, dot!!!
