Yeah I was there too and I remember when he slammed down his guitar (hard) while yelling at his tech, I also remember being impressed with the fact that his guitar didn't break, it just bounced... quality workmanship LOL!!!
I hear that...Back when music was fun and lively...none of this pop Bieber BS...Even a lot of todays alternative can't touch the stuff form back then...
I was there too. What a show! I keep hoping the camera would pan over towards the center of the field in the hopes that I could see the blurry dot that would be me among the many other blurry dots. LOL!! BTW I also saw George yell at his guitar tech at the side of the stage and slam his guitar down on the ground...that guitar was built pretty well since instead of breaking in just simply bounced (it got some decent air too)
Thanks so much for posting this great vid. I was at this same show, and never saw footage from it until now. Talk about a flashback. See my comments in the Dokken "Heaven Sent" vid from this show.
Damn, VH(I love the Sammy-era just as much as Roth), Dokken, and Scorpions...That is some awesome show to say the least. And the tickets probably cost like $40. Today it would probably be $150-200.
Hate it when people stand around on the stage with their arms crossed and motionless like that...Pretty stupid...They must be pretty stuck up people...I get it if they are VIP or with the roadies or something but don't stand still acting like your cool and motionless...
I totally agree. Those people should be kicked off the f---___ stage immediately . They don't deserve to be there. I remember I was at a Van Concert and Dave told all the security sitting on his stage, "Get the F### off my stage, and they did. That is star power.
Yeah, I was gonna say. It was summer, so maybe that was considered summer clothing. In other footage from the Monsters of Rock tour he does wear better clothing. Look up the Oxford Plains show, he's decked out in black leather in the one. Also maybe the white outfit looks better up close. Check out this clip ua-cam.com/video/ln3lkbIRP3s/v-deo.html
I went to this show instead of my high school prom! Never regretted it, EVER. What a great time!
natdiamond Hell Yes!! This coming from someone who did go to her proms.
I saw them one month later in Houston. Texxas Jam. Van Halen Scorpions Metallica and Kingdom Come and Dokken. 🤘🤘

Lucky! Sadly I was born 6 years after this concert lol.

I was there Monster's of Rock 1988 @ the Orange Bowl.....😊😉🚀
Wow, what a great song! Awesome video, thanks for sharing!

Think it had anything to do with the 50 roadies moving crap all over the stage? That would've driven me nuts.

can't wait for the time machine to be invented so i can go back to this time. 1988, can't get better than that

2022: $300-$500
格闘の試合前にヘッドフォンで大音量で聴く!そうしたら、絶対に負けない気がした!懐かしい!
@hameron By "this" I meant "Burning Like a Flame." From what I remember, Don passed out from the heat and we got 2 songs or so plus Mr. Scary.
I was there 2!!!!
\m/
Damn, I don't think we got this in DC. :(
Monsters tours are great!! They needed to turn the mic up though. Mr.Scary is drowning Don out.
Wow, tight stage. Van Halen's gear must be behind theirs not leaving them much room. plus it is pouring rain.
Rain- It would be cool if they played 'In My Dreams" in that. (Video)

Why is he dressed like a nurse or an ice cream man?
It was the 80s.. It was a different time.
Rattmaster86 right, and he typically wore black leather (and wore it well), not all white. Weird. Well, Miami’s hot.
