As someone raised in cities and living in the southern US with mild winters, I always thought your life was maybe just a bit TOO hard. But I feel like this video reveals the beauty of your life and gives insight into why you have chosen it. You and Clay have built a beautiful homestead, a beautiful life, and through your photography and videography you share beauty with those of us who will never have a chance to experience it in person. The other day, my husband was checking the weather in southeastern Idaho and said they'd be having snow all week there (laughing at me because I'm so excited to move there where it REALLY snows). The first thing I told him was, "I'll bet Ariel uploads another winter video very soon!" I absolutely love these videos.

I love the scenes with the ducks. They are so monochromatic it looks like you’re filming in black and white. Gorgeous shots. And the shot of Burley’s face with the snowy, all-white background - looks like a portrait. The expanse of night sky and all the stars was magnificent! Sleigh rides will always be one of my favorite childhood memories. An elderly man at my church offered every child who had perfect attendance in Sunday School a wonderful sleigh ride through a small canyon along the Ice Age Trail in Northern Wisconsin. Between that and the Sunday School teenage girls getting together to bake piles of Norwegian and Swedish Christmas treats for our members living in nursing homes or shut in, church was my favorite place to hang out.
I absolutely loved the shot of the longer haired collie type dog, in the snow white background, face forward with a little snow on its nose. That shot is truly a framable picture. Just love the white background for the animal photos. Amazing that the cats don't seem to be detered by the snow. Also in excellent shot going from the milky way in the starlight to the fire light. Nice. Stay warm. Stay healthy. Stay happy. Stay Loved.

As much as I am beginning to dislike winter to some extent as I get older,I still love to see and experience ( from time to time) the beauty and eerie look of winter and winter storms.

I have a 1600 watt solar system i installed. Mine is on the ground on a rack. I didn't want it on my roof. Mainly because of being able to clean the snow off, as you do. From lower Michigan. I enjoy your videos.

I love your videos!! I’m a city slicker and I don’t know how you do this with having to haul your water in. I go into a panic when they turn the water off to make repairs at the mobile home park that I live at! And no washer or dryer!! I’m 66 years old and I have always had a washer and dryer since I started keeping house!!
