My CERT trainer told the class- if you need a roll of toilet paper and all you have is a $20 bill, what do you think that TP costs now? It was a joke, but remains a genuine point. May our Lord have mercy on the people still in the mountains, they really do need to think about coming out, even if only until March. This winter is going to be a bad one I think.

Couldn’t some of the churches in the area where these tents are open up and house them until this passes? It will only be temporary- I understand the people don’t want to leave their property, but this is extremely dangerous! I don’t know the area, but thought it might be an answer for the immediate situation.

In times past we have heated the crawl space under the house just adequately to keep the pipes from freezing in a power outage that ended up an extended power outage.
